This week: Golf Asiago Open

We stay in Italy for the second week in a row to play the Asiago Open, scheduled for Thursday, September 5 to Saturday 7 at the Golf Club Asiago . Wednesday, September 4th will be the prologue to the event, which offers a week of great international golf course , the Pro Am Open Asiago by Marsh.

At the event, who sponsors such as Banca Popolare di Vicenza , Serene Restaurant , Marsh and Meltar Boutique Hotel and technical sponsor Acqua Sant’Anna di Vinadio , attended by about 130 competitors from thirteen nations with a large delegation of 62 Italian players. Among the field, seven of the top ten ranked in the Alps Tour Order of Merit including the top three : English Jason Palmer, leader and winner last week of the Cervino Open , Spaniard Jesus Legarrea, winner of Umbria Open, and the Englishman Andrew Cooley , who started imposing very strong in the first two events of the season in Egypt. With them the Irishman Brendan McCarroll (5th), the Austrians Lucas Nemecz ( 7th) and Uli Weinhandl (8th) and Frenchman Thomas Linard (9th) .

Among the Italians, Paolo Terreni, Gregory Moltenu and Andrea Maestroni who finished eighth in Cervinia are providing a good performance , but it should not be forgotten Alessio Bruschi , Joon Kim, Lorenzo Scotto, Aron Zemmer and Mattia Miloro .

The Asiago olf Club is situated in an altitude of 1.000 m in the middle of the Alpine foothills in Veneto on a plateau, which hads the same name as the town Asiago. The is only about 50 km away from Vicenza, 90 from Venezia or Verona and near the centre of Asiago, it is slightly wavey and spreads through high forests and over meadows, which also form a steadily majestic scenery.
