The Alps Tour returns to action at the 2026 Longwy Alps Open

Longwy, France, September 1st, 2026 – After a month-long summer break, the Alps Tour returns to competition this week for the third edition of the Longwy Alps Open, taking place from September 3rd to 5th at UGolf Longwy International.

Located in eastern France, close to the Luxembourg border, the tournament will mark the 17th event of the 2026 Alps Tour season and the return to competition for players with the final stretch of the season now underway.

Ahead of the tournament, the Pro-Am will take place on September 2nd. Around 20 teams will compete in a shotgun-start scramble format, offering local players and partners the opportunity to experience the course alongside Alps Tour professionals.

The event will offer a minimum prize fund of €53,000, along with 45,000 Order of Merit points, including €7,700 and 6,525 points awarded to the winner.

The tournament will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut after 36 holes to the top 40 professionals and ties, including all amateurs within the cut. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the champion will be decided by a sudden-death playoff.

The Field 

The battle for a place in the top five of the Order of Merit promises to be another closely fought one this week, with all the players currently in contention for promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour in the field.

Fresh from victories in the two most recent Alps Tour events, Flavio Michetti (Alps de Las Castillas) and Jorge Maicas (Biarritz Cup by ARKEA) will look to continue their strong form. Both players have moved closer to the top of the Order of Merit and will be looking to make another step forward in Longwy. The field will also feature Romain Wattel, a winner on the DP World Tour after claiming the 2017 KLM Open.

A total of 132 players, including 17 amateurs, will tee it up this week. The field features competitors from 15 different nations: Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Cameroon, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Monaco, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and Wales.

The Course

Located at the crossroads of France, Belgium and Luxembourg, UGolf Longwy International offers a unique golfing experience in the heart of Longwy, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department of north-eastern France.

Built on a former industrial site, the course opened in 2015 and combines the region’s rich steelmaking heritage with a modern golfing environment. Traces of Longwy’s industrial past remain visible around the course, including a historic blast furnace located near the practice area.

The 18-hole, par-72 course stretches across a wooded and gently hilly landscape, offering a varied and technical challenge. Players must negotiate strategically positioned fairways, undulating terrain and fast, demanding greens, where precision and course management will be essential.

The combination of natural features, technical design and industrial heritage gives UGolf Longwy International a character of its own, making it a memorable venue for the Longwy Alps Open and an exciting challenge for both professional and amateur golfers.
