Alexandre Vandermoten seals dominant Longwy Alps Open victory and earns HotelPlanner Tour promotion

Longwy, France, September 5th, 2026 – There was Alexandre Vandermoten, and then there was everyone else at the Longwy Alps Open. The Frenchman produced a dominant display throughout the week, finishing 11 shots clear of his nearest challengers to claim his third Alps Tour title of the season.

The rookie was once again in impressive form on Saturday, signing a third consecutive 65 (-7) to finish the tournament at 21-under-par and complete a remarkable week.

Following in the footsteps of Andrea Romano and Maxime Legros earlier this season, Vandermoten secured his third victory of the season, adding the Longwy Alps Open to his wins at the Villa Paradiso Alps Open and the UGolf Aravell Andorra Open. The achievement also guarantees his direct promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour.

Spain’s Alejandro Rodriguez Andreu, winner of the Gösser Open, finished in a share of second alongside Ireland’s Sam Murphy and Spain’s Alberto Dominguez.

Another notable performance came from Cameroonian para golfer Issa Nlareb A Amang, who made the cut for the first time on the Alps Tour in Europe and finished an impressive 15th, signing a strong final-round 67 (-5) despite two penalty strokes.

With the victory, Vandermoten earns €7,820 and 6,525 Order of Merit points, consolidating his third place in the Order of Merit. Spain’s Pablo Alperi finished fifth and moved up to fourth, ahead of Mario Galiano Aguilar in fifth and Robert Moran in sixth.

The race for qualification to the 2026 Hulencourt Alps Tour Grand Final and promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour will resume on Thursday, September 10th, at Aa Saint Omer GC in France for the 2026 Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Open.

Alexandre Vandermoten : “I didn’t really change the mindset I had from the beginning of the tournament: to go out there and get as many points as possible. I had a bit of pressure at the start, but I made three birdies in a row to begin the round and told myself to start playing.

“I didn’t want to just be in a position where I was enjoying it, even though I was thinking quite a lot about the future with such a big lead. I was just trying to play golf, and on the 18th, I really allowed myself to enjoy the moment.

“I’m very happy. I dreamed of this third victory, and to actually achieve it is incredible. I’m very proud to have done it in my first season. My goal now is to earn my American Tour cards and my DP World Tour card. It’s a relief to go there already knowing that I have my HotelPlanner Tour card.”
