England’s Tom Wilde wins the Citadelle Trophy International-Golf de Preisch

Tom Wilde won his maiden title on Alps Tour. He defeated after first extra hole France’s Matthieu Pavon and Spain’s Alfonso Gutierrez. The 25 year old was the unexpected winner of Citadelle Trophy International thanks to amazing final round.

The Englishman shot the best score of the day 64 to surge at -11 alonside overnight leader Alfonso Gutierrez. The latter was leading fater his front nine. Unfortunately he dropped two shots coming back home and open the door to challengers.

Matthieu Pavon, leader after first round, had a very solid day with 5 birdies and no bogey. He came back on top to be part of the final drama.

The three players hit the fairway with their tee shot. Both Wilde and Pavon hit the green, Wilde 3 meters from the cup and Pavon shorter. The Spaniard struggled with his second shot and ended in the bunker. He could not save par as he putted first. Wilde holed for birdier putting all the pressure on Pavon’s shoulders. The young frenchamn missed his putt and the english players celebrated the win of their fellow.
