The Alps Tour season continues. Next up: Saint-Malo Golf Open

Rising golf stars of the Alps Tour are back in France this week for the Saint-Malo Golf Open July 5th through July 8th at Saint-Malo Golf Resort.

Two-time European Tour winner, Christian Cevear of France, is the star name in a field of 128 that includes players from 17 countries across five continents. Defending champion, amateur, Thomas Boulanger, who is still only 18, is joined by five of this season’s winners in what will surely be one of the strongest fields of the season.

Set in the Mesnil Forest in Le Tronchet, the par 72 parkland course, playing 6072 meters, (6640 yards), will provide the players with a stern test as they not only negotiate the many bunkers, tricky greens and some tight fairways but also the 13 water hazards that come into play on the course.

With the weather set to be fine for the tournament days, Tournament Director, Estelle Richard said, “We are delighted to return to St Malo Golf Resort. It is a pleasure to work with the professional team here, the course has, once again, been presented in great condition and the players are looking forward to the challenge this week.”

The €45,000 prize fund is the second largest of the season so far and this year’s champion will be crowned after 72 holes of stroke play competition from 5th -8th July. The cut, to 40 and ties plus amateurs, will be made after 36 holes with the final two rounds being played over the weekend.

Round one starts at 07:45 on Thursday.
