Russel king of Spain

alps-tour

Scot Raymond Russel win The Peugeot Open de Emporda with a total of -11, 2 strokes ahead of Spanish Carlos Del Moral, Javier Guzman and Italian Matteo Delpodio.

The day started very bad for Russel. He dropped 5 shot in 3 holes and at this moment of the day, many Spanish players were in good position to catch the trophy.

“To be honest, it was a tough day. I made a very poor start despite my birdy on the first hole. What happened next was so awful. Then I told to myself, – take it the same as on the first days- then I holed a few birdies then I have to wait until the 17th to breath again and drive to win on the last hole. I have had good memories in Spain even more now”.

Delpodio, winner in Valencia, did a very nice finish and his second position increase his advantage on the top of the order of merit.
“I am happy with the way I played but I had 3 putts on 11th and 13th so I could not win with this mistakes. I love to play in Spain, Peugeot Tour is great  and you can only ply well if you are in good conditions. I am looking forward to playing the next tournament,  I think this season is going to be interesting for me.”
