Perrino back in business
Italy’s Andrea Perrino won the Open La Pinetina 2015 with -13 total thanks to final round 67. Fellow countryman Andrea Bolognesi and France’s Dominique Nouailhac ties for second place one shot behind.
There were three players heading the last round with same score but unfortunaly, one of them, Van Der Vaart dropped five shots on the 12th hole and disappeared from the leaderboard. The duel was 100 % Italian then with some assault coming from France or England.
The leader of first round, England’s Matt Wallace was really close to grab his maiden trophy but the fate was not with him on the two last hole as he was -14, the only leader. He dropped a first shot on the 17th hole and as a knock-out, he doubled bogeyd the last to slide to the 4th place.
Dominique Nouialhac signed for flawless 66, -4 card but miss the chances to make birdie on the 16th or the 17th as he did during second round. Bolognesi, Perrino’s player partner, was the only one who could prevent his compatriot to engrave his name on the trophy but his last birdie was on the 12th as Perrino dropped one shot but managed to keep the rhythm until last green to finally win a title, the first one since 2009 when he won the Alps Tour order of merit.
Perrino enters the top 20 of the ranking and Josh Loughrey is still leading it. The top 5 players are grouped within less than 900 €.
