Great Gressier in Italy
France’s Julien Gressier surged one clear in 2015 Abruzzi Open AXA. He fired 66, -5 to lead over fellow Jean-Pierre Verselin and Italy’s amateur Rafaelle Benatti.
Gressier, 28, took advantage of better conditions in the morning as the wind really picked up in the afternoon.
“I am very happy with my game. My driving was very accurate but most of all, I putted very well compare to last week and it makes a big difference. The course is quite easy, open so even if you miss your shots, there are no real danger. But it wa very windy today, so if you had to hole putts to sign for a decent score. I will keep on being aggressive tomorrow. The only holes you have to be cautious are par 3s.”
Verselin has been in good form for a couple of weeks now and he confirmed once again he is a true challenger for a second win on Alps Tour. This week is the last one for players to qualify for Grand Final in Israël next week. Top 50 of the ranking will have the privilege to enter the last event of the season.
The projected cut is +1 after 18 holes.
