Gösser Open: Shoot Out powered by Freizeitinsel Piberstein with Wiegele, Forsbrand & Manson
The Gösser Open presented by Martin Wiegele will be held next week! The golf center of Graz-Andritz is the scene next Tuesday, 14th with the start of the Shoot Out powered by Freizeitinsel Piberstein at 17:00. Last year Bernd Wiesberger drew the crowds under his spell with his guest appearance in the Styrian capital. This time, the local hero Martin Wiegele and famous players Anders Forsbrand and Gordon Manson are giving some special to this spectacular tournament format.
In his professional career, Martin Wiegele has not denied a Shoot Out yet. Last year, he could not play due to the first of two hip surgeries. “Although I am now many years on the Tour, I go to Andritz for the first time as a professional player, taking part in a Shoot Out. The field promises a high level competition where I want to go as far as possible, “says Wiegele.
A strong contestant for the winner’s cheque is also Sweden’s Anders Forsbrand, one of the best short-game players in the world. After six victories on the European Tour, he also won his first victory on the European Senior Tour last year. “Usually guys get so advice from me, but this time it is for me to deliver a good performance. Now that I am back in full training, I’m really looking forward to the forces compared with the Young Guns, “explains the ÖGV coach.
Besides Wiegele, Forsbrand and four times Gosser Open winner Manson, there are also Jürgen Maurer, last year’s winner Luke Nemecz, amateur Tobias Nemecz, Roland Steiner, Manuel Trappel, Uli Weinhandl and Ewald Kölli (Club Champion GC Graz-Andritz).
