French duo in command in France

France's Clément Berardo is leading Open International du Haut-Poitou with first round 66, 7 under par neck and neck with neo pro Kenny Subregis.

French duo Clément Berardo and Kenny Subregis are leading fater opening round of Open International du Haut-Poitou 2014. Surbregis, who turned pro days ago and 28 year old player from Terre Blanche signed for a 66 seven under par card.

It is never a piece of cake to turn pro just before a tournament but the very young player, 18 year old, did not show any sign of stress today as he teed of as pro for the first time. Haut-Poituou golf course can be tricky, especially on greens and the teenager did more than well to tame the 18 holes. He holed nine birdies and one eagle whereas Berardo sunk seven birdies and an eagle as well.

Berardo is currently fifth at the Alps Tour ranking. He needs some points to secure his card for next year on Challenge Tour.

Defending champion, David Bobrowski shot 70, 3  under par and is already 4 shots back of the leaders.
