Forcasted win for Cryer

alps-tour

Matthew Cryer wins the Haugschlag NÖ-Open with a closing 66 for a -24 total and a huge advantage of 7 strokes of  Swiss Jann Schmid. Schmid shot 64, best score of the day. Slovenian amateur Tim Gornik is one of the two-way tie third with Englishman Jason Palmer. Cryer confessed his day was strange to deal with :

“I had to play nice golf. It was such a strange situation to be comfortably leading. I decided to stay focus and do what I did the previous days. You can be defensive but it was not my choice. Now I am in the top 6 of the Alps Tour order of merit and the goal is to keep that rank until the tournament in Belgium to avoid the first stage of Qualifying school.”

Since now, this dead line will be in players minds. Scot Gavin Dear just went out of the top 6 as Cryer entered. The 3 next tournaments are going to be very interesting. Nest event is taking place from 8th to 10th of July in Madrid.
