The great European golf, which over the years has often been at home in Sanremo, back to the Circolo Golf degli Ulivi to celebrate the eightieth birthday of glorious Ligurian club. The Casino Sanremo Open is scheduled from Friday, June 8 to Sunday 10.

Today, the pro-am event ‘Sanremo: eighty years of golf’ welcomes best professionals and amateurs. The tournament takes place over a distance of 54 holes, 18 per day, with the participation of 132 players, including five amateurs from 17 countries. After 36-hole cut, the Top 40 and ties will continue the race. The prize is 40,000 euros of which 5,800 will be enjoyed by the winner.

On this undulating course, Emanuele Canonica, European Tour member for years, will add a great value in the tournament in which the high technical level will be guaranteed by the presence of almost all the best Alps Tour elements. Two recent winners play this week: Irishman Brendan McCarroll (Gosser Open) and English Chris McDonnell (Slovenian Open). They will be there too: Spaniard Pedro Erice, Frenchmen Raphael Eyraud, Clemet Gallois and Ghislain Rosier, Micahel Hill (winner of Haut Poitou 2011), German Philipp Mejow and Norway’s Jason Kelly, who last year won the Milan Zoate Open. In the large Italian patrol there are some elements which can be included in the struggle at the top such as Gregory Molteni and Alessio Bruschi, Mattia Miloro, Niccolo Quintarelli, Joon Kim, Marco Guerisoli, Andrea Rota, Andrea Zanini, Aron Zemmer and Cristiano Terragni, who won the Feudo di Asti Open last season. Alessandro Grammatica will be keen to do well in golf club where he grew up. Will further contribute to the quality of the game Michele Reale, Gianluca Pietrobono and Emmanuel Lattanzi.
