Busy leaderboard after opening round at Open de Saint François – Région Guadeloupe. Frenchmen Mathieu Bey (pict), Sébastien Gros and Thomas Linard shot 67, 4 under par alongside Italy’s experimented Alessio Bruschi.  The later is the only one to have a win – the Gösser Open in 2004.

It’s been a while since Alps Tour had nice and fair weather as Europe winter is a never ending story. With tropical climat, the Open de Saint François – Région Guadeloupe  offer the players great conditions to play. No less than four players are leading by one stroke over a group of five another fellows,  France’s Xavier Poncelet,  Raphaël Marguery, Spain’s Diego Suazo and Ireland’s Brendan McCarroll and Stephan Grant.

In form Marguery, last week in contention, shot 68, three under par and might take his chance to run for a win again on Sunday.  He said after the end of last round in Italy that has was loooking ofrward to play in last group again. But challengers are numerous and current Gösser Open winner, Irish Brendan McCarroll, and Last week winner, Jason Palmer will be serious opponents.

The projected cut after 18holes is +3, including so far two amateurs, Florent Ales and Carl Cohen-Jonathan.
