Spaniard Salto leading at home
Spaniard Alvaro Salto, 36 year old, shot 65 in his garden, Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. Challenge Tour three-time-winner shown that knowing well the course is a serious advantage over the field. He already won this tournament in 2003. Spaniards Inigo Urquizu and Alfredo Garcia-Heredia are one stroke back.
Temperatures was very high today and leaderboard is mostly painted in red and yellow. No less than 16 Spanish in top 20 after first round. Italians are doing well too in such a heat. Englishman Matthew Cryer is still in a good mood after his win last week. He shared fourth place at -4 with Italians Marco Crespi and Paolo Terreni, Spaniard Raul Quiros and Northem Irishman Richard Kilpatrick.
The projected cut is level par.
