Sokhna Golf Club marks the start of the Egypt Swing and the 2025 Alps Tour Golf season

Egypt, February 17th, 2025 – Since 2022, the Ein Bay Open and the Red Sea Little Venice Open have kicked off the new Alps Tour season at the Sokhna Golf Club.

The history of these tournaments in Egypt dates back to 2013, and they have been held without interruption, reaching their 13th edition this year.

The Egypt Swing will open the 2025 season with the Ein Bay Open (19th – 21st February) on courses B&C, followed by the Red Sea Little Venice Open (24th – 26th February) on courses A&B, after which the players will head to Giza for the 4th edition of the New Giza Open (1st – 3rd March). Between the two tournaments in Sokhna, a Pro-Am event will take place on February 22nd.

The Field

An exceptional field is expected for the first two events of the Egypt Swing 2025. The players, full of enthusiasm, are determined to give their best from the start of the season in pursuit of their ultimate goal on the Alps Tour: securing one of the five cards for the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour.

Defending the title will be Frenchman Aymeric Laussot, who claimed victory last year with a total score of -14 (69-66-67) after a tight battle with Italian Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli, who finished second at -13 (69-68-66), and Swiss player Luca Galliano, who also returns this year after finishing third at -12 with the best final round (63 strokes).

Several tournament winners from the 2024 season will be competing at Sokhna. Among them are Frenchman Theo Boulet, who achieved double victories at the Open de la Mirabelle d’Or and the Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand, alongside Aymeric Laussot (winner of the Ein Bay Open) and Antoine Auboin (Lacanau Alps Open). They will be joined by Spaniards Jose Antonio Sintes Navarro and Mario Galiano Aguilar, champions of the Red Sea Little Venice Open and the Hauts de France Pas de Calais Golf Open, respectively. Rounding out the list of last season’s winners are Italians Gianmaria Rean Trinchero (Tunisian Golf Open) and Mattia Comotti (Memorial Giorgio Bordoni).

Among the 120 players competing at the first two tournaments of the 2025, approximately 20 worldwide countries will be represented. The field is made up of 14 amateur players and 106 professional players.

At the 2025 Ein Bay Open and the 2025 Red Sea Little Venice Open, there will be 120 players competing in each field for a prize fund of € 40,000. Both events will be played as 54 holes stroke play tournaments where a cut will be made after 36 holes.

On Saturday 22nd February, our traditional best ball aggregate to par shotgun pro-am will take place at Sokhna Golf Club with approximately 30 teams participating.
