Javier Barcos The Captures Second Victory of the Season at the 2025 Longwy Alps Open

Longwy, September 6th, 2025 –  Spain’s Javier Barcos secured victory at the 2025 Longwy Alps Open, capturing his second title of the season with a winning score of 14-under-par. He edged fellow Spaniard Manuel Morugan by one stroke, who finished in solo second at 13 under-par. Jerry Ji from the Netherlands claimed third place outright at 12 under-par, while Italy’s Manfredi ManicaMattia Comotti, and Ludovico Addabbo shared fourth place in a three-way tie at 11-under.

As the 2025 Alps Tour season nears its conclusion, this week’s tournament marked a pivotal moment in the chase for Order of Merit points. With only a couple of events left before the season-ending Grand Final, the race to secure a top-five finish in the Order of Merit, and with it, promotion to the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour, is intensifying. For some players, it’s a chance to solidify their standing and build on recent momentum, while for others, it’s a make-or-break opportunity to climb the rankings and keep their aspirations alive.

Final Round Player Quotes

Spain’s Javier Barcos, 23, continued his impressive 2025 season by claiming his second Alps Tour title at this week’s Longwy Alps Open. Already the winner of the 2025 New Giza Open and current leader of the Alps Tour Order of MeritBarcos took control of the tournament after the second round and sealed the victory with a final-round 3-under-par 69, finishing at 14-under for the event. Despite a shaky start with two bogeys in his first four holes, he quickly regained momentum with an eagle, five birdies, and two additional bogeys. Crucial, back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18 secured the win. Reflecting on his performance, Barcos shared, “It’s a great feeling. It was a battle all day long since I didn’t have my A game, but I’m glad the best two shots of the day came on the last two holes.” He emphasized the importance of consistency off the tee, saying, “The key was hitting really well from the tee all week — it’s a tight golf course where you must keep it in play, and I did that consistently.” Looking ahead, Barcos admitted, “I’m going to be way more relaxed now, which isn’t normal in a golf tournament, so I’m just going to try to have as much fun as possible, which has been hard for me this past month.” While acknowledging the significance of the win, he remained grounded: “This win is great and really important, but I’m going to keep playing as well as I can and see where that leads me. If I end up getting the promotion, it will be so gratifying since that’s what I’ve been working for all year and my top goal.” He concluded by dedicating his victory to his family: “I want to dedicate this to my parents, who have supported me through a difficult August when I played very poorly and felt unmotivated, so I’m very grateful to them.”

Finishing the tournament in solo second place with a three-day total of 13-under-par was 34-year-old Spaniard Manuel Morugan, the winner of the 2022 Abruzzo Alps Open.

Following the 2025 Longwy Alps Open, Spain’s Javier Barcos remains atop the Alps Tour Order of Merit with 29,042.34 points. Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa holds steady in second place with 22,403.63 points, while France’s Quentin Debove climbs into third with a total of 20,488.15 points.
