Metz, June 14th, 2025- Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa surged into the lead after Round 2 of the 2025 Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or, posting a two-day total of 11-under-par. He holds a four-shot advantage over a trio tied for second at 7-under: France’s Augustin Holé, Ireland’s Robert Moran, and Luca Memeo from Italy. Just one stroke behind them, a three-way tie for fifth place includes Spain’s Jorge Maicas, French amateur Rodolphe Cicala, and Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, setting the stage for a tightly contested final round in Metz.
Round 2 of the 22nd Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or took place today at Golf Domaine de la Grange aux Ormes, near Metz, France. Play proceeded under sunny skies and steadily increasing temperatures, providing stable conditions for the competition.

Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, 30, who won various events on the Alps Tour as well as capturing the 2021 Alps Tour Order of Merit title, which allowed him to gain status on the now HotelPlanner Tour, leads after two rounds with a two-day total of 11 under-par. He followed his opening round of 4-under-par 66 with an impressive 7-under-par 63, carding birdies on holes 1,3,4,7,8,11,12, and 17 with his only bogey of the day came on hole 10. Reflecting on his performance, Vecchi Fossa said, “My round today began straight away well as I made birdies right away on holes 1, 3, and 4. My game was good, as well as my putting, I had good feelings all around. Today I also nearly made a hole-in-one and holed out from a greenside bunker, so let’s say it was an untypical round. I only missed one shot throughout the entire day on the 10th hole where I made a bogey, but after that, I was able to make some crucial putts coming in for birdie to sign for my 7-under-par.” Vecchi Fossa added: “Tomorrow, I will play against the course and not the rest of the field, aiming to hit the fewest shots and maintain the momentum I had today. I have good feelings and will bring them into tomorrow’s round. I won’t look at the leaderboard, focus on my game, and see what happens once we end the round.”
Augustin Holé, 27, of France, winner of the 2023 Alps Tour Grand Final, moved into a tie for second place with a two-day total of 7-under-par. Holé followed his opening round of 4-under-par, 66 with a 3-under-par, 67 in the second round. Starting on the 10th hole, he opened with a triple bogey but recovered quickly, carding birdies on holes 12, 15, 16, and 17, along with bogeys on 13 and 18. After making the turn, he added four more birdies on holes 3, 4, 6, and 8 to close out his round, crediting a strong mental approach and consistent execution. “It went well, especially after my triple bogey on 10 and bogey on 13,” he said. “I tried to stay in the present—that’s something I’ve been working on recently, focusing shot by shot without worrying about the leaderboard, and I’m happy I was able to do that today.” Holéhighlighted his putting and accuracy on the back nine as key factors, noting, “My putting was extremely solid, and I didn’t miss any greens so that helps. I don’t hit a lot of drivers here. My focus is hitting fairways and greens because once you miss either, it’s not that easy. But when you’re in the fairways, you can take advantage of the opportunities.” Looking ahead, Holé plans to stick with the same approach: “Tomorrow will be the same, hit good shots, play smart golf without doing anything special—and if the putter gets going, you can score quite low out here. Then the focus remains on myself and what I can control. You can’t control what anyone else does. Now I’ll rest, prepare for tomorrow, and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the round.”
Joining Holé in a three-way tie for 2nd place with a score of 7 under-par: Ireland’s Robert Moran and Italy’s Luca Memeo.
A total of 50 players made the cut which was set at 140 (Par).
The Final Round of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or will begin at 9:25 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The leaders will begin their last round at 10:53 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.
The winner of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, will earn the winning check of €6,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
