Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto wins the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT – The Male Tools & Co.

Cassina Rizzardi, October 18th, 2024 – It was another long day for the 47 players competing at the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT – The Male Tools & Co.. After the 2nd round was suspended last night at 6:34 p.m. due to darkness, it resumed under some on-and-off rain showers this morning at 8:30 a.m. local time. Unfortunately, at 9: 28 a.m. local time, the Tournament Director, Mr. Alessandro Pia, had to stop play again due to heavy rain showers and unplayable course conditions. At 12:45 p.m. local time, Round 2 was able to resume.

At that point, the Tournament Committee had announced that the 3rd round of the tournament would be canceled, and the tournament would now be reduced to 36 holes due to the risk of being unable to complete another 18 holes with the uncertainty of the weather forecast and the daylight.

The entire Alps Tour staff and players would like to sincerely thank Golf Club Monticello Head Superintendent Michele Deiana and his staff for their outstanding work before the tournament and during the past few difficult days.

France’s Benjamin Kedochim wins the 2024 Alps Tour Order of Merit with 28,118.90 points and secures himself one of the five sought-after 2025 Challenge Tour cards that were up for grabs this season. Winner’s Quotes

Enrico Di Nitto, 31, from Italy, wins the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT- The Male Tools & Co. with a two-round score of 8 under-par. He earned 9,500 Order of Merit points and the winner’s check of €10,000.  He followed his opening round of 1 under-par, 71 with an incredible 7 under-par, 65. This was his first win on the Alps Tour since 2019. After his victory, he was very emotional: “This is fantastic, it’s been three long days, very tough days but to end it like this it’s extremely rewarding. My season wasn’t always perfect; my game was struggling in mid-season, and I worked hard with my coach, which paid off. I worked hard and trained a lot to earn results like today. This year, playing on the Alps Tour, I gained a lot of experience and learned a lot, which I’m happy to bring to the Challenge Tourwith me. I want to dedicate this win to my grandfather, who sadly passed away last week. My dad didn’t allow me to go back home for the funeral but wanted me to come here and win it for him, and I’m very happy I was able to do that. It’s also for my wife, family, friends, and myself.”

In a two-way tie for 2nd place at 5 under-par: Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa and France’s Damien Perrier.

France’s Benjamin Kedochim, who won the 2024 Alps Tour Order of Merit rank, earned one of the coveted 2025 Challenge Tour cards that was up for grabs. Throughout the 2024 season, Kedochim never won an Alps Tour event. However, he obtained 6 top-3, which proved his consistent play. After Kedochim secured his Order of Merit title, he was extremely emotional: “I can’t say anything other than I had a very consistent season. I want to dedicate this win to my family, my girlfriend, my sponsors, and everyone that’s been supporting me from the beginning. The hard work I did paid off and I’m happy. I kept believing in myself every tournament, every round even if I kept coming up a little short. I’m extremely happy with everything I’ve done this season. After this season with no win, I hope to begin my Challenge Tour career with a win during my first event. I will keep doing what I’ve done this season, improving, and hopefully earn my card for the DP World Tour.” Players faced extremely tough conditions this week with numerous weather delays and heavy rain showers, Kedochim commented: “It was a very long week, it was very tough out there to be honest. I played at the French Open last week, and we played two days in the rain. I came this week a little tired, and now I’m even more exhausted now. I did my best this week, played shot after shot, and tried to make the best out of it. I want to thank the greenkeeping staff, the amount of work they did to allow us to complete 36 holes was incredible.” Kedochim has been an Alps Tour player for a few years and reflecting on his experience he added: “I truly believe that the Alps Tour is the best 3rd division tour out here, the organization is great, the courses are good, and the quality of competition is good. Sometimes we have good spectators and that prepares you for the bigger tours. The atmosphere between the players is also truly enjoyable.”

The 47 players in the field competed for a prize fund of €50,000 and 60,000 points. Enrico Di Nitto, winner of the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT- The Male Tools & Co. earned the check of €10,000 and 9,500 Order of Merit points.
