England’s Chris Paisley took charge at Flory von Donck Trophy at Gent Belgium. Paisley, two time winner in 2011 on Alps Tour, shot 65, 7 under par and kept his nearest opponent, Marco Crespi, 3 strokes behind. England’s Jordan Gibb tied third place after signing for 69 as Italian Lorenzo Magini. First Belgium player is amateur Dewi Merckx with 71. Gallery

All players suffered from the wind today which blew on the charming golf course of Royal Latem and it has been raining for 2 hours at the end of the round.

Chris Paisley took a wonderful start on Alps Tour this season by winning first two tournaments in Spain. These good results were confirmed and he had the opportunity to get invitations to play Challenge Tour. He did well there as well and is so far 76th at the ranking with only 6 events played. This week he looks forward to winning his third victory.

“I played well but nothing extraordinary. This golf course is quite easy if you stay on the fairway. I only hit my driver on par 5 and two or three time more. I putted well but obviously I am very happy with this 65.”

Italian Marco Crespi, winner 3 weeks ago in Italy said about same words. “I did not play that good but my putting was great. My win gave me more confidence and I feel good on course.”

The projected cut is +2.
