Brandon Kewalramani wins the first edition of the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar.

Roquetas de Mar, May 31st, 2024 –Brandon Kewalramani from the United States of America wins the inaugural 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar, with a total score of 10 under-par. In 2nd place, France’s Benjamin Kedochim with a total score of 7 under-par. In a 3-way tie for 3rd place at 4 under-par: England’s Arron Edwards-Hill, Netherland’s Vince Van Veen, and Spain’s Marcos Pastor.

The final round of the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar began at 8:15 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The leaders group teed off at 9:32 a.m. local time from the 1st hole. The players competing at Club de Golf Playa Serena in Almería, Spain, disputed the final round under a sunny blue sky, a warm temperature, and some strong wind conditions. The stronger wind conditions today, compared to the first two rounds, complicated the scoring opportunities for the players, as only five of them shot an under-par score during today’s round.

Final Round Player Quotes

Brandon Kewalramani, 25, from the United States of America, wins his 1st professional title at the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar. He moved into the lead after yesterday’s round 2, and today, he shot a 1 under-par 69 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 10 under-par. This is his 1st professional outright win as he tied for 1st place at last year’s DP World Tour Q-School. In today’s final round, Kewalramani made 2 birdies and 2 bogeys on the front nine holes and then 1 more birdie on the back nine to conclude the day. He was one of 5 players to conclude the final round of the tournament with an under-par score. This is 1st year competing on the Alps Tour, and has been performing well since the beginning of the season. After his win, Kewalramani was very emotional: “I want to thank the Alps Tour for putting on such a fabulous event and the golf course for such great conditions. It played extremely tough today; the wind was up the entire day. I didn’t look at the scoreboard the entire day, I knew I had a three-shot lead to start the day, so I tried to stay in my own little world out there. I tried to take it one shot at a time, and I must say my putter really saved me a lot today, it was fabulous again. I kept telling myself, especially on the back nine, that it was playing tough, so I wanted to keep making pars, and if someone caught or beat me, that’s just great golf they played. So, on the back nine I was aiming for a lot of centers of the greens, it was so windy I didn’t hit it that great, but my short game was great. That’s the reason I was able to win today. The last two days, the wind was down, so I was able to convert birdies, but today it was converting pars or saving pars.” Kewalramani added that he: “wants to dedicate this win to my mom; she was again on the bag this week with me. She means the world to me; she sees what I go through and the hard work that I put in. I was thinking about this last night, what this win would mean, and you know, I kept thinking of how much it would mean to win it with my mom on the bag and here with me. I’m so glad I was able to do that.”

Benjamin Kedochim, 29, from France, concluded the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar in 2nd place with a total score of 7 under-par.  He made 6 birdies and 1 bogey for a 2 under-par, 68 in his final round. Kedochim has earned several top 5 finishes in his career but is looking to capture his 1st title on the Alps Tour. He has been playing well since the beginning of the 2024 season and wants to continue to work hard to hopefully earn a trophy in the upcoming events. He was one of 5 players with an under-par score during today’s final round.

After the 8th event of the season, the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli still in the lead with 14,715.00, France’s Benjamin Kedochim is in 2nd place with 14,649.75 points and Aymeric Laussot from France is in 3rd place with 13,054.50. Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto is in 4th place with 12,344.25, and this week’s winner, Brandon Kewalramani from the United States, is in 5th place with 10,192.50.
