Next event: Alps de Andalucia
Next week, from 12th to 14th October, we will play the Alps de Andalucia in Santa Clara Golf Granada.
This edition will be the last event before the Grand Final scheduled the following week in Italy at Golf des Iles Borromées, near Lake Major. For sure, it will bring a lot of joy and sorrow…
Alessandro Rogato, Alps Tour Director of Development: “We have been collaborating with the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation for the promotion of this circuit for many years. The Spanish events are the highest in terms of prizefunds and the Alps de Andalucia will be a great preparation for the Stage 2 of the European Qualifying School.”
Therefore, this event in Santa Clara Golf Granada is a decisive step for the access to the Challenge Tour 2018. A victory there may be essential for some of our players.
Pablo Mansilla, President of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation: “For the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation it is a real pride that Santa Clara Golf in Granada hosts this magnificent tournament, a course where we will see a lot of spectacle with great players.”
The Alps de Andalucia remains faithful to welcome both national and international golf and serve as a stepping stone to access the best international Tours. With the support of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, several editions have been carried out promoting this objective. The young amateur Adriá Arnaus will return to be one of the favorites to the victory thanks to his excellent season on Alps Tour. Santiago Tarrio, Javier Gallegos or the Andalusian Mario Galiano will also try to raise the champion’s trophy at home.
Jaime Salaverri, president of the Professional Committee of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation: “We continue to support these international tournaments that help young Spanish players to compete and ascend in their professional career. We have achieved many Spanish successes in the Alps Tour tournaments organised in our country and have already been several players who have reached the Challenge Tour category by ranking among the top five in the Alps Tour Order of Merit at the end of the year.
José Ignacio Acosta, Managing Director of Santa Clara Granada: “The club and its members are very proud to be able to host such an international professional tournament of the Alps Tour. We are very proud that Santa Clara Golf Granada is the venue chosen this year to host the Alps de Andalucia and we will be happy to show the beauty that has Granada and its province to all players and visitors.”
Javier Gervás, Managing Director JGolf18.0: “We are very proud to continue having among us the best promises of the future golf panorama. Santa Clara Golf will require a great concentration of players and spectators will enjoy a lot during that week. ”
The course of Santa Clara Golf Granada is characterized by its wide greens and with many movements and a great diversity of obstacles that require a variety of blows. The design of Enrique Canales plays with wide streets and strategically placed obstacles that will make the players to make a proper strategy before executing each one of the blows. And all this under the influence of Sierra Nevada and its magnificent weather conditions.
