Wallace let no chance to the field and won his third title in a row
England’s Matt Wallace (picture GEPA) won his third tournament in a row with huge margin of 8 shots in Gösser Open. He signed for final round 66 to go to -20 total. Austria’s Robin Goger finished second on his own. He fired 69 with the support of great crowd from Maria Lankowitz. A group of 5 players are on the third step of the podium.
Players had to complete the second round this morning before teeing off for last round. Wallace started the day holing putts and he had a 5 shot lead going into third round. With this win, he now records about 26 000 points at the Alps Tour ranking, when the second, Franck Daux, only have a little les than 12 000 points.
« It was an amazing week. I played some great stuff. I got off to a great start today with an eagle on the first after hitting a PW from 160 to 6 feet. But then I didn’t putt great. Robin was putting fantastic and was making putts from everywhere.
I stayed patient and the birdies on 5 and 6 were great. I just tried to shoot as low as possible until I was safe to play to the middle of the greens. The feeling walking down the 18th with a 7 shot lead was on of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced. A lot of hard work has paid off recently. three in a row, love it ! I am so happy. »

Marguery leader at Club House, Wallace leads but still on course
France’s Raphaël Marguery is the club house leader after 36 holes at Gösser Open. He shot 68 for -9 total. At noon, the game was suspended during 2 hours and a half due to thunderstorms. Matt Wallace has not completed his round, he is currently -5 for the day and already -11 total. Same for young Autria’s Robin Goger. He is -10 total, thanks to -5 today after 13 holes.
Many players shot under par today and the cut should be around -2 or -1 but more or less thirty players will finish their second round tomorrow morning.

Wallace hold firm in Tunisia
England’s Matt Wallace, with friend Reece Phillips on the bag for the day, stayed strong in the wind to shot 71 for -10 total during Tunisian Open moving day. David Borda, Enrico Di Nitto and Robin Goger are 5 shots further, ties for second place.
It was tough again to day, more than yesterday less than tomorrow. That is the forecast for final round. Early starters enjoyed fair conditions. Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto signed for the score of the day, 67.
« I was sick all night, I only slept 2 hours. It proves that the less you expect, the more relax you are. Everything went well, I only had 28 putts are the results is there. I wish I will be as chilled tomorrow to confirm. »
Austria’s Robin Goger, 20, had wind during his last holes. He shot 69 and was very happy with his score despite a dropped shot on the 17th.
« I feel more prepared to the pro circuit. When I had my card on Challenge Tour two years ago thanks to good results in European Tour Q School, I was too young. Now I can handle the circuit and be efficient. And each day, I learn from my mistakes. »
Spain’s Borda was playing in the last group with Wallace. They both recorded a one under par card. The day was intense due to strong wind and they were satisfied with their scores.
« That was the goal today, to play under par. I didn’t play great but I shoot under par. I’ve been looking for that for a long time so I am really happy. But I putted a lot better today which I worked on yesterday so I can put a combination of those, the game of the first 2 days and the putting of today, I will be up there so I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have the same margin distance now so I did not lost any or gain a shot so I am just going into tomorrow and try to work really hard. »

Daux hold firm in Egypt
Franck Daux kept his advantage going into last round of the 2016 Red Sea Little Venice Open. He shot 71, one under, to secure a 3 shot lead. Matt Wallace of England is two shots back and Austria’s Robin Goger and Michele Ortolani of Italy are ties for third place.
The course defended itself way better today as many players struggled with the greens. The pin positions were trickier and the hot temperatures were hard to deal with.
The best score of the day was recorded by France’s Thomas Elissalde. The latter won last year on this course combination A/B. The native from Biarritz shot a brilliant 65, 7 under par with five birdies and one eagle.
« You can understand it when you see my card, I putted so well. I holed from everywhere. At the beginning of the round I did not play too well but it went better and better and eventually, I carded a low round. »
Overnight leader Franck Daux struggled to find his rhythm but it is always difficult to follow a low round with another one. He managed to shoot under par though and he is in good position for back to back win in Egypt.
England’s Matt Wallace’s goal was to be in the last group and he did it. Wallace is still in the hunt for maiden on Alps Tour and his motivation is high to prevent Daux from winning twice.
The cut felt at +2, 44 players including one amateur, France’s Antoine Moreau tie for 13th.
