Final Round Player Quotes

Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, 30, from Italy, returned to the winner’s circle at the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or. He has previously earned multiple victories on the Alps Tour, including winning the 2021 Alps Tour Order of Merit, which granted him status on the now HotelPlanner TourVecchi Fossa surged into the lead after the second round and closed out the tournament with a 2-under-par 68 in today’s final round, finishing with a three-day total of 13-under-par. He delivered a steady performance on the final day, carding birdies on holes 4, 6, and 12, before closing with an unfortunate bogey on the 18th hole to secure the win in a tightly contested leaderboard. With today’s victory, Vecchi Fossa moves to the top of the Order of Merit standings and reflects on his composed approach to the final round. “Today I began my round just trying to hit the greens and make two-putts for par—that was my mindset,” he said. “I made two good birdies on the front nine, and after hole 11, it was the first time I looked at the leaderboard. I saw I was tied for the lead with Memeo, but my focus was still on shooting the lowest round I could, not on what the others were doing. I made some clutch par putts coming in, which is always a nice feeling.” Reflecting on the final hole, he added, “On 18, I was in the fairway and knew I had a two-shot lead. The pin was short left, and I hit the green on the right side. I had about a 30-meter putt and unfortunately three-putted, but it was okay. I played a bit more conservatively today compared to the first two rounds, but overall, it was a great week and a great tournament. I’m very happy to be back in the winner’s circle.” Vecchi Fossa closed by dedicating the win to those closest to him: “This win is for my team, my family, and my girlfriend Matilde. They are with me through the good times and the bad.”

Fellow Italian Luca Memeo, just 19 years old, delivered an impressive final round of 5-under-par 65 to finish the tournament in solo second place, just one stroke shy of the win. He got off to a blazing start with four consecutive birdies on holes 1 through 4, then added an eagle on the par-5 10th hole. Despite a bogey on the 16thMemeo handled the pressure with maturity, securing his best professional finish to date.

France’s Julien Quesne,44 claimed solo third place with a total score of 11-under-par. The experienced pro posted the lowest round of the day, a bogey-free, 8-under-par 62, making a strong charge up the leaderboard.

Following the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa is the new Order of Merit leader with 20,631.38 points. In 2nd place, was Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela with 17,472.75 points, and in third place was France’s Quentin Debove with 15,598.65 points.

Final Round

Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, winner of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, earned the winning check of €6,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa Surges Into the Lead at the 2025 Open de la Mirabelle d’Or.

Metz, June 14th, 2025- Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa surged into the lead after Round 2 of the 2025 Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or, posting a two-day total of 11-under-par. He holds a four-shot advantage over a trio tied for second at 7-under: France’s Augustin Holé, Ireland’s Robert Moran, and Luca Memeo from Italy. Just one stroke behind them, a three-way tie for fifth place includes Spain’s Jorge Maicas, French amateur Rodolphe Cicala, and Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, setting the stage for a tightly contested final round in Metz.

Round 2 of the 22nd Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or took place today at Golf Domaine de la Grange aux Ormes, near Metz, France. Play proceeded under sunny skies and steadily increasing temperatures, providing stable conditions for the competition.

Round 2 Player Quotes

Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, 30, who won various events on the Alps Tour as well as capturing the 2021 Alps Tour Order of Merit title, which allowed him to gain status on the now HotelPlanner Tour, leads after two rounds with a two-day total of 11 under-par. He followed his opening round of 4-under-par 66 with an impressive 7-under-par 63, carding birdies on holes 1,3,4,7,8,11,12, and 17 with his only bogey of the day came on hole 10. Reflecting on his performance, Vecchi Fossa said, “My round today began straight away well as I made birdies right away on holes 1, 3, and 4. My game was good, as well as my putting, I had good feelings all around. Today I also nearly made a hole-in-one and holed out from a greenside bunker, so let’s say it was an untypical round. I only missed one shot throughout the entire day on the 10th hole where I made a bogey, but after that, I was able to make some crucial putts coming in for birdie to sign for my 7-under-par.” Vecchi Fossa added: “Tomorrow, I will play against the course and not the rest of the field, aiming to hit the fewest shots and maintain the momentum I had today. I have good feelings and will bring them into tomorrow’s round. I won’t look at the leaderboard, focus on my game, and see what happens once we end the round.”

Augustin Holé, 27, of France, winner of the 2023 Alps Tour Grand Final, moved into a tie for second place with a two-day total of 7-under-par. Holé followed his opening round of 4-under-par, 66 with a 3-under-par, 67 in the second round. Starting on the 10th hole, he opened with a triple bogey but recovered quickly, carding birdies on holes 12, 15, 16, and 17, along with bogeys on 13 and 18. After making the turn, he added four more birdies on holes 3, 4, 6, and 8 to close out his round, crediting a strong mental approach and consistent execution. “It went well, especially after my triple bogey on 10 and bogey on 13,” he said. “I tried to stay in the present—that’s something I’ve been working on recently, focusing shot by shot without worrying about the leaderboard, and I’m happy I was able to do that today.” Holéhighlighted his putting and accuracy on the back nine as key factors, noting, “My putting was extremely solid, and I didn’t miss any greens so that helps. I don’t hit a lot of drivers here. My focus is hitting fairways and greens because once you miss either, it’s not that easy. But when you’re in the fairways, you can take advantage of the opportunities.” Looking ahead, Holé plans to stick with the same approach: “Tomorrow will be the same, hit good shots, play smart golf without doing anything special—and if the putter gets going, you can score quite low out here. Then the focus remains on myself and what I can control. You can’t control what anyone else does. Now I’ll rest, prepare for tomorrow, and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the round.”

Joining Holé in a three-way tie for 2nd place with a score of 7 under-par: Ireland’s Robert Moran and Italy’s Luca Memeo.

A total of 50 players made the cut which was set at 140 (Par).

The Final Round of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or will begin at 9:25 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The leaders will begin their last round at 10:53 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.

The winner of the 2025 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or, will earn the winning check of €6,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Luca Galliano and Luca Memeo are in a share of the lead at the 2024 Longwy Alps Open.

Longwy, September 6th, 2024 – After two rounds of the 2024 Longwy Alps Open, we have a close leaderboard. Luca Galliano from Switzerland moves into the lead alongside Italian amateur Luca Memeo with a two-day total of 10 under-par. Italy’s Federico Livio, Benjamin Kedochim from France, and Ireland’s Paul McBride are in a 3-way tie for 3rd place at 9 under-par. In a 3-way tie for 6th place: Spain’s Albert Boneta, Italy’s Andrea Romano and Robert Holden from England.

The players competing in today’s round 2 of the inaugural 2024 Longwy Alps Open faced a mix of weather conditions, ranging from overcast skies, some light winds, some light rains, some sunshine, and a chillier temperature than yesterday’s first round. Play began this morning at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. This is the inaugural year of the 2024 Longwy Alps Open.

Round 2 Player Quotes

Luca Galliano from Switzerland is in a two-way tie for the lead after two rounds at the 2024 Longwy Alps Open. He shot a 4 under-par 68 in today’s round 2, making 6 birdies and 2 bogeys for a two-day total of 10 under-par. After today’s round, Galliano talked about how today: The course played quite tough, it was wet, and the pins were trickier than yesterday’s first round. Also, the weather changed as the temperature dropped quite a bit compared to yesterday as well as the pro-am.” He added that he is grateful for his: “my long game as it’s been very good lately, my tee to green has been working well I must say so it’s rewarding. I need to work a bit more on improving my putting, but overall, I’m happy.” For tomorrow’s final round, Galliano plans on: “staying in the present and keep doing what I’ve been doing so far as it seems to be working pretty well. I think the winning score will be around 14 or 15 under-par. Tonight, I’m going to relax with my friends and play some card games to get ready for tomorrow.”

Italian amateur, Luca Memeo, 19, who was tied for 2nd place after yesterday’s opening round, moves into the two-way tie for the lead alongside Galliano with a two-day total of 10 under-par. He shot a 4 under-par, 68 in today’s round 2 making 1 bogey and 5 birdies which 2 were in the last two holes. Once Memeo completed his second round, he was pleased as: “It seems like I was able to me in the more favorable draw with the weather as we even had some sun come out this afternoon. The course was softer, and the greens had slightly more spin, and I was able to adapt well.” He is tied for the lead heading into tomorrow’s final round. He plans on: “keep doing the same thing, try to hit as many fairways as possible which will allow me to have shorter irons into the greens. I plan on turning pro within the calendar year so I’m looking forward to the rest of the tournaments.” He added that: “I stayed very patient throughout the entire round even if I missed some shots and some putts and I believe that was key for me. That’s something I will take with me for tomorrow.”

Italy’s Federico Livio, 26, moves into a three-way tie for 3rd place after round 2 of the inaugural 2024 Longwy Alps Open. He was tied for 10th place at 5 under-par after the first round of the tournament and today shot a 4 under-par, 68 with 1 eagle, 5 birdies and 1 triple bogey to move into the three-way tie for 3rd place with a two-day total of 9 under-par. After his round, he commented: “My game was very good today overall even though I, unfortunately, began my round under a good rain shower, so it was hard to get the momentum going. I made an unfortunate triple bogey on the 5th hole but luckily got it back immediately with an eagle and 2 birdies. Tomorrow, I will try to do my best and see what happens. The course today, especially this morning, was quite wet, but overall, the greens are good, and the conditions allow us to perform well. I want to keep playing like I did today for tomorrow’s round and try to hole in some more putts.”

Benjamin Kedochim, 29, from France, who is the current Order of Merit Leader, concludes round 2 of the 2024 Longwy Alps Open with a two-day of 9 under-par and finds himself in the three-way tie for 3rd place alongside Livio. In today’s round, he shot a 2 under-par, 70 making a 1 triple bogey on the first hole and then made 3 birdies and 1 eagle on the remaining 17 holes. Kedochim explained today: “I had a rough start; I think my nerves played a big part. I had a situation on the first hole and that made my heart go up a bit. I missed my iron shot into the bunker, and with the rain coming today, I hit another bad shot, which cost me a triple bogey. Once I was able to get over the first hole, I told myself I was going to start playing again, and I had a birdie chance on the 2nd to get things going again. I’m very pleased, especially how I was able to fight back and have a strong finish.” He added that he found the course this morning definitely: “softer due to the overnight rain as well as this morning, but the pin positions were tougher, certain were right in the corners and that made it more complicated.” Kedochim added that he learned a valuable lesson from today’s Round 2: “I know that even making a triple bogey, I can be close to the lead, so I will keep doing the same things and hope for a positive result tomorrow.”

Alongside Livio and Kedochim in the three-way tie for 3rd place with a two-day total of 9 under-par, Ireland’s Paul McBride.

The highlight of the day belongs to Italy’s Andrea Romano and France’s Adrien Bonnet, who shot an 8 under-par, 64 in today’s round to hold the new course record at UGolf Longwy International.

Final Round

A total of 47 players made the cut, which was set at -2.

The Final Round of the 2024 Longwy Alps Open will begin at 8:40 a.m. local time from the 1st hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 11:25 a.m. local time from the 1st hole. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner of the inaugural 2024 Longwy Alps Open.

He’s a good friend of mine, and having him on the bag this week has been amazing.” Memeo plans on “gaining as much experience as possible by playing Alps Tour events, but at the same time, I would like to earn full playing status for next year, so I will play in as many events as possible.”
