Matteo Cristoni Moves into the Lead Following Round 2 at the Alps de Las Castillas.
Albacete, July 10th 2025- Italy’s Matteo Cristoni leads the field with a two-day total of 12 under-par after Round 2 of the 2025 Alps de Las Castillas. Just one stroke behind, in solo second place, Antonio Hortal from Spain with a score of 11 under-par. Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney is in solo third place at 10 under-par and will keep the pressure on the leaders heading into the final round.
Round 2 of the 2025 Alps de Las Castillas continued today at Club de Golf Las Pinaillas, with warm temperatures and sunny skies providing a picturesque backdrop as players competed to secure a strong position heading into the final round.
Players at this week’s event are competing not only for the tournament title, but also for crucial Order of Merit points, with the top five at the end of the 2025 Alps Tour season earning coveted 2026 HotelPlanner Tour cards, and the top six players, including amateurs, not otherwise exempt after the 2025 Biarritz Cup by C&S Partners securing a Stage 1 exemption for the 2025 DP World Tour Qualifying School, up to a maximum of 10.
Round 2 Player Quotes
Italy’s Matteo Cristoni, 23, who was tied for 15th place after yesterday’s opening round, surged into the lead on day two with a stunning 9-under-par 63, bringing his two-day total to 12-under. Cristoni got off to a blistering start, recording seven birdies on the front nine (holes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9) to go out in 29. On the back nine, he dropped a shot on the 10th hole but quickly bounced back with a birdie on 11. A bogey followed on hole 12, but he ended his round strongly with birdies on 13, 14, and 16. Reflecting on his round, Cristoni said, “It went well, I played really solid from tee to green, leaving myself with a lot of opportunities to make birdies.” He credited his driving accuracy as a key factor on this course, adding, “I think you need to hit the driver well to be able to score here. The strategy is essential to avoid easy mistakes.” Looking ahead to the final round, he shared his approach: “I’m going to stick to my strategy and try to enjoy the round as much as possible.” Cristoni also noted a difference in playing conditions: “I feel like in the morning the ball rolls really well on the greens compared to the afternoon, so I would say that playing in the morning definitely helps.” He concluded by praising the course setup: “It’s a good layout where you can have fun playing it.”
Spain’s Antonio Hortal, 36, who led after the opening round, carded a 4-under-par 68 in today’s second round to move into 2nd place with a two-day total of 11-under-par. He made three birdies on the front nine and added an eagle on the par-5 14th hole, before closing with a bogey on the 18th hole. Reflecting on the day, Hortal said,“It was the same game tee to green, but today the putter didn’t work. I was pretty solid with the driver and the irons.” Despite the late bogey, he remained positive: “It was pretty nice overall, only one bogey on 18, and that came after a flyer from the rough and a bad chip. Someone sent me that bogey to remain focused for tomorrow.” Hortal emphasized the role of course strategy and physical condition in the heat: “I’ve been hitting almost every hole with the driver, which gives me an advantage from the tee. The strategy is working, now I just need to repeat the same and make sure I keep my body temperature under control to perform well.”
Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, 29, a two-time winner during the 2023 season, which propelled him to win the Order of Merit and secure his promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour (formerly known as the Challenge Tour) for the 2024 season, currently sits in third place after the second round of the tournament. After opening with a 2-under-par 70, Mullarney surged up the leaderboard with a bogey-free 8-under-par 64 in the second round, bringing his two-day total to 10-under. His round included birdies on holes 5, 6, 8, and 9 on the front nine, followed by four more on the back nine on holes 11, 13, 14, and 16. Reflecting on his performance, Mullarney admitted, “Up until today, I didn’t think the course really suited me. I played Q-School here last year, and it didn’t go great, but I played nicely today. The same again tomorrow would be nice.” He was particularly pleased with the clean scorecard, adding, “Overall, a good day of golf today, but what stands out the most to me is the bogey-free bit, which I like.” Known for his calm demeanor, Mullarney said, “There weren’t many highs and lows today, really, which is how I like it, to be honest.” Looking ahead to the final round, he emphasized the importance of recovery: “The main thing I’ll be focusing on is resting up for tomorrow. It’s really hot, so I’m going to get myself ready.” He also credited his early tee time as an advantage, saying, “Playing in the morning definitely helped. The front nine was really nice, and then it got really hot after that, but everyone has to deal with it.” On the course itself, Mullarney added, “It’s in excellent condition. All the courses we’ve played this year have been in great shape, which is always a bonus.”
The highlights of the day came from France’s Robin Roussel and Jersey’s Josef Hacker, who both recorded remarkable Holes-In-One during today’s second round of competition. Roussel aced the 118-meter 3rd hole using a 48° wedge, while Hacker achieved his ace on the 152-meter 7th hole using a 9-iron.

9th July 2025 | Alps Tour Golf
Antonio Hortal Leads after the Opening Round at the Alps de Las Castillas.
Albacete, July 9th, 2025- After the opening round of the 2025 Alps de Las Castillas, Spain’s Antonio Hortal leads the field with a superb 7-under-par 65. Italy’s Filippo Bergamaschi sits one shot back in solo second after posting a 6-under-par 66. Tied for third place at 5-under-par 67 are Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar and Marc Sabria, alongside Italy’s Mattia Comotti.
The first round of the 13th event of the season commenced this morning at Club de Golf Las Pinaillas in Spain. This is the second time the tournament has visited this specific province, following its previous edition in 2021. Competitors faced sunny skies and warm temperatures as the tournament officially got underway, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.
Round 1 Player Quotes
Spain’s Antonio Hortal, 36, holds the outright lead after the opening round of the 2025 Alps de Las Castillas, carding a bogey-free 7 under-par, 65. Hortal began his round on the 10th hole and quickly found his rhythm with birdies at the 11th and 14th holes. After making the turn to the front nine, he built strong momentum, adding a birdie on the 1st hole, an eagle on the par-5 4th, and another birdie on the 5th hole. He capped off his impressive round with a final birdie on the 9th hole to finish atop the leaderboard. “Today was a perfect day tee to green and some chip-ins helped me too,” Hortal said. “Maybe my putting wasn’t excellent, but it was good enough for a good round. My driving was probably the best part of the day; I was very solid and happy about it.” He highlighted a key moment at the 6th hole, saying, “The par on hole 6 was the highlight of my round as it came at a good time and allowed me to keep my momentum going.” With high temperatures throughout the day, Hortal also noted the physical demands of the round: “Today, it was sunny, windy, and very hot here. Maintaining my body temperature was a challenge, but it was very important for me to be able to do it as it allowed me to perform at my best.” Looking ahead, he remains focused: “Tomorrow is another day, and to have a good tournament, you need to play three good rounds of golf. I’m obviously far from the cut line, so it’s an advantage heading into tomorrow, where I’m able to compete without worrying about the rest. I will continue with the same strategy as I had today, the same club selections from the tees, and hopefully put together two more good days of golf.”
Filippo Bergamaschi, 33, from Italy, whose best finish so far this season is a runner-up at the 2025 La Cigale Golf Open in Tunisia, is in second place after the first round of the tournament. He has recorded several top-5 finishes and currently sits 16th in the Order of Merit rankings. Bergamaschi opened with a bogey-free 6 under-par, 66 to firmly place himself in contention, carding birdies on holes 2, 7, 9, 10, 12, and 14. “It was a really good round, overall, quite solid, and it’s always a nice feeling to go end the day with a bogey-free score,” he said. Despite the strong performance, he admitted that his driving was the biggest challenge.“The main struggle today was my driving. I hit a lot of shots from the rough, but I managed to keep it in play.” He relied on sharp iron play and steady putting to keep the round on track. “My irons were really solid today. I gave myself a few chances and was able to convert a few of them, on top of my putting being pretty sharp as well.” The standout moment came at the par-3, 7th, where he hit a controlled punch shot into the wind with a 7-iron to just four feet. Looking ahead, Bergamaschi remains focused. “It’s important to stay close to the top of the leaderboard, but 54 holes is a lot of golf to be played, and this is just the first part of it,” he said. “I’ll be trying to do the same things tomorrow, focus on the strategy, and hoping to be in a better position off the tees to make my life easier.”
In a three-way tie for third place after the first round, each with a 5-under-par 67, are Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar andMarc Sabria, along with Italy’s Mattia Comotti. Both Galiano Aguilar and Comotti carded bogey-free rounds, while Sabria’s score included five birdies, one eagle, and two bogeys. All three players credited their strong performances to solid driving and precise tee shot placement, combined with solid putting, which allowed them to sink several clutch putts.
Players at this week’s event are competing not only for the tournament title, but also for valuable points in the season-long Order of Merit standings. The top five players at the conclusion of the 2025 Alps Tour season will earn one of the coveted cards granting access to the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour. In addition, the top six players, including amateurs, from the Alps Tour Order of Merit standings after the 2025 Biarritz Cup by C&S Partners, up to 10, not otherwise exempt, will get an exemption for the Stage 1 of the 2025 DP World Tour Qualifying School.
Round 2
The second round of the tournament will commence tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. local time, with groups teeing off from both the 1st and 10th holes.
Once Round 2 is completed, a cut will be made to the top 40 professional players and ties, plus any amateurs who fall within the cut line. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner.
The players are competing for a prize fund of €42,500 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The 2025 Alps de las Castillas winner will walk away with €6,200.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Final Round Quotes
Italy’s Andrea Romano, 25, who secured his first professional title earlier this year at the 2025 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar, claimed his second win in less than one month at this week’s 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera.Taking the lead after the second round, Romano closed out the final round with an outstanding 8 under-par 63 to end the tournament with a three-day total of 19 under-par. He got off to a blazing start with three consecutive birdies from holes 1 to 3, followed by steady pars on holes 4 and 5. Romano then birdied hole 6, eagled the par-5 7th hole, and capped the front nine with back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9 to post a remarkable 28. On the back nine, after a series of pars, he faced a bogey on the 14th hole but bounced back with a crucial birdie on the 17th, sealing his victory with a two-stroke margin. Romano also participated in last week’s DP World Tour Italian Open, further highlighting his rapid rise in professional golf. “I played really, really well today, especially on the front nine where I shot 8 under par without missing a single putt,” he said. Reflecting on today’s competition, Romano added, “It was a true honor for me to compete alongside Alvaro Quiros in the final round. He is a great player. I’ve known him since I was 17, when I had the chance to play a practice round with him at the Verdura Open on the DP World Tour. To be able to battle with him for the win today is something I will remember for a while.” Looking back at his recent form, Romano explained, “Playing the Italian Open last week helped me a lot because I played well, I finished, if I’m not mistaken, in the top 30, and it gave me more confidence competing out here. I know I can perform well; it’s a matter of confidence and abilities. If I can play well and have good results on the DP World Tour, it means I can do the same out here.” Concluding on a personal note, he said, “This win is for my family and mainly my mom, who has been there every step of the way. I will now enjoy it and refocus for next week.”
Spain’s Javier Barcos and Alvaro Quiros finished the week in a two-way tie for second place with a three-day total of 17 under par. In the final round, Barcos posted an impressive 8 under-par 63, while Quiros carded a 6 under-par 65.

Round 2 of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera ends with a three-way tie for the lead.
La Gomera, July 4th, 2025- After two rounds at the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, the leaderboard is tightly contested. Spain’s Alfonso Buendia, Alvaro Quiros, and Italy’s Andrea Romano share the lead at 11-under-par. Just one stroke behind, in a two-way tie for fourth place, are Spain’s Juan Salama Monsalve and France’s Paul Margolis. Javier Barcos of Spain holds sixth place at 9-under-par, setting the stage for an exciting final day of competition.
The 2nd round of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera which is being played at the scenic Tecina Golf on the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands began at 8:00 a.m. local time. This is the 5th edition of the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera after its previous three editions, which were hosted in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.
Round 2 Players Quote
Spain’s Alfonso Buendia, 28, who was tied for fourth place after yesterday’s opening round, carded a beautiful 6-under-par 65 in today’s second round to move into a three-way tie for the lead with a two-day total of 11-under-par. He opened his round by making three birdies and one eagle on the front nine, and once he made the turn, the back nine became steadier, where he made one bogey before ending the day with two birdies in a row on holes 17 and 18.“I try to keep doing like I did the first round, as well as taking advantage of all the opportunities that came my way,” said Buendia. “My mindset is really simple, shot by shot and hole by hole—so I can remain calm, stay in the present, and stay focused. On Hole 18, I had a short wedge into the green and about a two-meter putt for birdie, which I holed. It’s nice to finish off with two birdies. It gives me good momentum for tomorrow.”
Alvaro Quiros, 42, of Spain, joins Buendia in a three-way tie for the lead after carding a 5-under-par 66 in today’s second round, bringing his two-day total to 11-under-par. A seasoned veteran and seven-time DP World Tour Winner, with an additional victory on the HotelPlanner Tour, he turned professional in 2004. Quiros showcased his experience with a composed round marked by key momentum shifts. He opened with an eagle, a birdie, and two bogeys on the front nine, then added a birdie on the 10th hole before stringing together a run of pars. He closed out his round in style with three consecutive birdies on holes 16 through 18. “Today was completely different than yesterday, I wasn’t as sharp off the tee, and as a consequence, I didn’t have as many opportunities,” said Quiros. “I turned it around with a nice long putt for eagle on hole 7. I was playing okay today. My putting was better, as I was able to hole a few long putts, so I must be happy about the past two days.” Reflecting on course conditions, he added: “Weather-wise, we’ve been extremely lucky. There was barely any wind—occasionally it picked up, but then it would die suddenly, so the golf course played under similar conditions for both rounds and both waves. I found some pins today to be slightly trickier, so you had to take a bit more risk on a few of them.” Quiros concluded, “Generally, I’m very happy with how I reacted to a poorer long game, but even happier with the state of mind I had the whole day.”

Round 2 Co-Leader at the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera, Spain’s Alvaro Quiros. Photo Credits: Alvaro Quiros
Italy’s Andrea Romano, 25, who competed in last week’s DP World Tour Italian Open and claimed victory at the 2025 Alps de Andalucía–Roquetas de Mar in June, joins Buendía and Quiros in a share of the lead after the second round of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, with a two-day total of 11-under-par. Romano got off to a strong start, making an eagle on the 3rd hole, followed by four birdies on holes 5, 6, 7, and 9. On the back nine, he made a lone bogey on hole 12 but quickly bounced back with a birdie on 13, before adding another on the 17th hole to cap off his round. “I’m really happy about today, I played really well,” said Romano. “I’ve been solid off the tees and with my irons. My putting is okay, not as good as it was a few weeks ago when I was putting well, but overall I’m happy.” He added, “The greens here are tough to read with a lot of grain, so you need to be very careful about the breaks and, more importantly, trust your read compared to what your eyes might see. The course is in great shape, especially on holes 11 and 12, where you need to be careful as it can get windy.” Reflecting on his position, Romano said, “Being up there on the leaderboard is a good feeling. Two weeks ago, I won, and now my goal is to secure another victory to move into the top six, which would earn me an exemption and allow me to avoid Stage 1 of Q-School. However, now, I need to remain focused for tomorrow. There is a great leaderboard, and to be able to compete with Alvaro Quiros tomorrow and battle for the win will be special.”

A total of 45 players (43 pros, 2 amateurs) made the cut, which was set at 138 (-4).
The Final Round will begin at 8.30 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9:47 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.

Tecina Golf Welcomes Back the 5th edition of the Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera
La Gomera, July 1st, 2025- The Alps Tour heads back to the Canary Islands for the 12th tournament of the season, the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera. The tournament will be played at the fascinating Tecina Golf from July 3rd– 5th 2025. On July 2nd from 10:00 a.m. local time, approximately 20 teams will participate in the Tour Scramble, Par is Your Friend Pro-Am.
It will mark the tournament’s fifth edition, following successful editions in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. These previous editions have helped establish the event as one of the most highly regarded stops on the Alps Tour calendar. The tournament was not held in 2024 due to renovations at the host venue, Hotel Jardín Tecina.
Tecina Golf has served as a launchpad for rising talent, some of whom have gone on to become stars on the global stage. The course has hosted 19 professional events to date, including eight HotelPlanner Tour tournaments between 2009 and 2016. Among its notable champions is major winner Brooks Koepka, who triumphed here early in his career, in 2013.
The most recent edition, held in 2023, saw Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero capture the title with a tournament-record score of 19-under par, the lowest winning total in the event’s history.
The Field
Nine of this season’s tournament winners are confirmed to compete at the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps de la Gomera. Among them are Switzerland’s Luca Galliano, winner of the season-opening 2025 Ein Bay Open; Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela, champion of both the 2025 Red Sea Little Venice Open and the 2025 Tunisian Golf Open; and fellow Spaniard Javier Barcos, winner of the 2025 New Giza Open. Also in the field are Asier Aguirre Izcue of Spain, who triumphed at the 2025 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON; Spain’s Jorge Maicas, winner of the 2025 Gösser Open; and Javier Calles Roman of Spain, winner of the 2025 Lacanau Alps Open. Italy’s Andrea Romano, who claimed the 2025 Alps de Andalucía – Roquetas de Mar, and rounding out the group is Netherlands’ Jerry Ji, the most recent winner at the 2025 Aravell Golf Open by Creand.
Eight players currently ranked within the Top 10 of the Alps Tour Order of Merit are scheduled to compete this week in the Canary Islands, with the exception of Order of Merit leader Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa and Spain’s Rocco Repetto Taylor.
Vecchi Fossa, winner of the 2025 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or, competed last week on the DP World Tour at the Italian Open, finishing tied for 10th place and earning an exemption into this week’s DP World Tour event in Germany, the BMW International Open, where he will be competing.
Repetto Taylor, who won the 2025 La Cigale Golf Open by Alps Tour in March, also captured the title at the 2025 Challenge de Cadiz on the HotelPlanner Tour and has since earned playing rights on the higher-level circuit.
As we are more than halfway through the 2025 season, players are eagerly competing to earn a spot in the top 5 Order of Merit rank, which at the end of the season, will give them access to the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour. As well as the leading 6 players (including amateurs) from the Alps Tour Order of Merit within a certain date defined by the DP World Tour, up to 10, not otherwise exempt, will get an exemption for the Stage 1 of the 2025 DP World Tour Qualifying School.
The 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera will be played as a 54 holes stroke play tournament where a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 professional players and ties plus amateurs within the cut.
The players competing this week will contend a prize fund of € 42.500 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner will earn €6,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

13th July 2024 | Alps Tour Golf
Spain’s Albert Boneta (am) wins the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas.
The final round of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas began at 8:30 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The leaders group teed off at 9:58 a.m. local time from the 1st hole. The players competing at Golf Lerma disputed today’s final round under a sunny sky, some light winds, and a warm temperature.
Final Round Player Quotes
Spanish amateur Albert Boneta, 22, who has been in the lead since the opening round of the tournament, comes out on top to earn the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas title. He followed his incredible opening round of 12 under-par, 60, with a 6 under-par, 66 in yesterday’s round 2, and today he shot a 7 under-par, 65 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 25 under-par. Boneta, in today’s final round, made 1 eagle, 7 birdies, and 2 bogeys. His opening round tied the tournament course record set at Golf Lerma. He recently graduated in Finance and Psychology at New Mexico University and plans to turn professional later this year. After his win, Boneta was very emotional but happy: “It was an unexpected win, I played last week’s tournament, the Alps de Andalucía and learned a lot and that helped me a lot this week I must say. I’m very happy; it’s the beginning of my life as a professional player, and that’s always been my dream. There is no way better to start than with a win amongst the professionals. I was quite relaxed from the beginning of the tournament, and then I had a big advantage because I started very well, so I was not nervous, I must say.” He added that: “I was very calm from the beginning of the tournament. I knew my game was good, and I was very relaxed the entire time. The best thing has been the putting, it’s what I’ve been working on the most lately, and it’s been phenomenal. It’s what has helped me to win because in the end, to make minus 25, no matter how well you hit the ball, you must make quite a few putts.” Boneta wants to “dedicate this win to my parents. They have supported me and have always been with me from the start. They came as they wanted to watch me play today, so this win is for them.” Winning this tournament has a big meaning for Boneta: “shows me that I am able to compete amongst the professionals, and this week allowed me to secure my card for next year, so it’s great.”
Austria’s Maximilian Steinlechner,24, winner of the 2024 Gösser Open, shot a final round of 8 under-par, 64 to conclude the tournament in 2nd place with a three-day total of 22 under-par. He made 4 birdies on the front nine holes, and once he made the turn, he made 2 birdies and 1 eagle to conclude the tournament.
After the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas, the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has Benjamin Kedochim from France still in the lead with 21,016.65 points. Brandon Kewalramani from the United States of America remains in 2nd place with 17,885.81 points. Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli is in 3rd place with 15,646.50 points. Théo Boulet from France is in 4th place with 15,531.75 points, and Aymeric Laussot from France rounds out the top 5 with 14,438.25 points.
The Alps Tour players now have a few weeks off before the next scheduled event which gets underway from September 5th-7th at UGolf Longwy International in France for the inaugural 2024 Longwy Alps Open.

12th July 2024 | Alps Tour Golf
Amateur Albert Boneta from Spain remains in the lead after Round 2 at the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas.
Round 2 Player Quotes
Spain’s Albert Boneta (am), 22, concludes his round 2 of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas in the lead by 1 stroke. He shot a 6 under-par, 66 in today’s round 2 making 7 birdies and 1 bogey for a two-day total of 18 under-par. In yesterday’s opening round, he shot an incredible 12 under-par, 60 which tied the tournament course record set at Golf Lerma. He recently graduated in Finance and Psychology at New Mexico University and plans to turn professional later this year. After his round, Boneta was satisfied even though: “I’m tired, it’s been such a long day, but I’ve played well all day. I was able to avoid getting in trouble and suffer much and I managed to hole some very good putts.” He added that he believes the “key to my round was on the first hole. I hit a nice tee shot to green but bounced to the bunker, then to green, and I holed it for the first birdie of the round, so that was a good start which allowed me to not be nervous. I must say I wasn’t nervous at all, I just kept playing my game.” Boneta also mentioned that this is only his 3rd time competing in a professional tournament and “of course, I will be nervous. It will be the first time that I tee off in the final round as a leader. I will just do my best and enjoy the day.” Boneta plans on “turning professional later this summer after competing in some amateur events I want to take part in.”
Amateur Nathan Legrendre, 22, from France, is only 1 stroke from the 2nd round lead after day two at the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas. He followed his unbelievable opening round of 12 under-par, 60 with a 5 under-par, 67 in today’s round 2 for a two-day total of 17 under-par. Today, he began his day on hole 10, where he went on to make 1 birdie and 1 bogey. Once he made the turn to the course’s front nine holes, Legendre went on to make 5 birdies which 3 in a row to end his round. Thanks to yesterday’s incredible round of 12 under-par, 60, Legendre now holds the tournament course record at Golf Lerma. After his 2nd round, Legendre was very pleased even though: “The first nine holes I didn’t play very well, I made a lot of mistakes unfortunately. However, on my back nine, I was able to play much more like I did yesterday. My game was more solid, and it was obviously seen in my score. I must admit that I was a bit nervous at the beginning of the round, but it eased off throughout the day.” Legendre is still competing as an amateur this week and is playing on turning professional later this summer. He decided to remain amateur until now, “to have the possibility to be selected by the French National Team to compete in the European Team Championships that are being played this week in Italy. I guess now I can say in the end that it was a good thing that I wasn’t picked.” He added that: “It’s hard to guess what the winning score will be, I think it could get very low. Tomorrow, I plan on staying as close to the lead as possible from the beginning until the end of the round, and we will see what happens.”
Final Round
A total of 54 players made the cut which was set at 140 (-4).
The Final Round of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas will begin at 8:30 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9.58 a.m. local time from the 1st hole. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner.
The winner of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas will earn the winner’s check of €5,800.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

31st May 2024 | Alps Tour Golf
Brandon Kewalramani wins the first edition of the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar.
The final round of the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar began at 8:15 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The leaders group teed off at 9:32 a.m. local time from the 1st hole. The players competing at Club de Golf Playa Serena in Almería, Spain, disputed the final round under a sunny blue sky, a warm temperature, and some strong wind conditions. The stronger wind conditions today, compared to the first two rounds, complicated the scoring opportunities for the players, as only five of them shot an under-par score during today’s round.
Final Round Player Quotes
Brandon Kewalramani, 25, from the United States of America, wins his 1st professional title at the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar. He moved into the lead after yesterday’s round 2, and today, he shot a 1 under-par 69 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 10 under-par. This is his 1st professional outright win as he tied for 1st place at last year’s DP World Tour Q-School. In today’s final round, Kewalramani made 2 birdies and 2 bogeys on the front nine holes and then 1 more birdie on the back nine to conclude the day. He was one of 5 players to conclude the final round of the tournament with an under-par score. This is 1st year competing on the Alps Tour, and has been performing well since the beginning of the season. After his win, Kewalramani was very emotional: “I want to thank the Alps Tour for putting on such a fabulous event and the golf course for such great conditions. It played extremely tough today; the wind was up the entire day. I didn’t look at the scoreboard the entire day, I knew I had a three-shot lead to start the day, so I tried to stay in my own little world out there. I tried to take it one shot at a time, and I must say my putter really saved me a lot today, it was fabulous again. I kept telling myself, especially on the back nine, that it was playing tough, so I wanted to keep making pars, and if someone caught or beat me, that’s just great golf they played. So, on the back nine I was aiming for a lot of centers of the greens, it was so windy I didn’t hit it that great, but my short game was great. That’s the reason I was able to win today. The last two days, the wind was down, so I was able to convert birdies, but today it was converting pars or saving pars.” Kewalramani added that he: “wants to dedicate this win to my mom; she was again on the bag this week with me. She means the world to me; she sees what I go through and the hard work that I put in. I was thinking about this last night, what this win would mean, and you know, I kept thinking of how much it would mean to win it with my mom on the bag and here with me. I’m so glad I was able to do that.”
Benjamin Kedochim, 29, from France, concluded the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar in 2nd place with a total score of 7 under-par. He made 6 birdies and 1 bogey for a 2 under-par, 68 in his final round. Kedochim has earned several top 5 finishes in his career but is looking to capture his 1st title on the Alps Tour. He has been playing well since the beginning of the 2024 season and wants to continue to work hard to hopefully earn a trophy in the upcoming events. He was one of 5 players with an under-par score during today’s final round.
After the 8th event of the season, the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli still in the lead with 14,715.00, France’s Benjamin Kedochim is in 2nd place with 14,649.75 points and Aymeric Laussot from France is in 3rd place with 13,054.50. Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto is in 4th place with 12,344.25, and this week’s winner, Brandon Kewalramani from the United States, is in 5th place with 10,192.50.
Final Round
Brandon Kewalramani, winner of the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar, earned the winner’s check of €5,800.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The next event on the schedule is set for June 14th– 16th in France. Players will compete for the 2024 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or title at Golf de La Grange aux Ormes near Metz, France.
