Round Two of the 2025 Parma Alps Open Concludes with a Three-Way Tie for the Lead.

Parma, October 10th, 2025 – At the conclusion of Round 2 at the 2025 Parma Alps Open, the leaderboard remains tightly contested, setting up a dramatic final day. Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, Spain’s Javier Barcos, and France’s Paul Franquet share the lead at 12-under-par. Just three shots back, in a two-way tie for 4th place at 9 under-par, are Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue and Italy’s Matteo Cristoni.

As the regular season wraps up this week, players have a crucial chance to earn valuable points, either to climb the Order of Merit or to secure their current positions. With promotion to the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour on the line for the top five players in the final Order of Merit standings after next week’s event, every result now carries added significance.

Round 2 Players’ Quotes

Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, 31, continues his strong performance at the 2025 Parma Alps Open. After opening with a 7-under-par 65, he followed up with a 5-under-par 67 in the second round to move into a share of the lead with a two-day total of 12 under-par. Vecchi Fossa, the winner of the 2025 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or and currently 3rd in the Alps Tour Order of Merit with 23,525.48 points, is looking to strengthen his position ahead of next week’s season finale. With multiple career wins to his name, Vecchi Fossa established himself as a top contender on the Alps Tour, including winning the 2021 Order of Merit, which earned him status on what is now the HotelPlanner Tour. In today’s round, he made 6 birdies (on holes 4, 6, 7, 9, 12, and 16) and a single bogey on hole 8. “It went really well,” said Vecchi Fossa“I didn’t get off to the best start, but in the end, the round went according to plan. I played very solidly again today, and I’m very pleased.” With just one event remaining in the season, he acknowledged the stakes but remains focused. “There’s always pressure, but I try not to add any extra on myself since it’s one of the last events of the season. Of course, I’m thinking about the five cards up for grabs, but I do my best to block that out during the round.” Vecchi Fossa’s mindset remains steady heading into the final day. “I always try not to look around too much and just play with a clear mind. I usually avoid checking the leaderboard because it tends to distract me a little. I’ll stick with the same strategy and won’t change anything heading into the final round.” Reflecting on his game, he added, “The part of my game that satisfied me the most today was definitely the putting. I’ll spend some time this afternoon practicing mid-irons, but overall, every part of my game is at a good level right now.”

Javier Barcos, 23, from Spain, the current Order of Merit Leader and winner of both the 2025 New Giza Open and Longwy Alps Open, opened with a 3-under par, 69 to sit tied for 14th place. After a strong second round, he now shares the lead with a two-day total of 12 under par. He fired a bogey-free 9-under-par, 63 in today’s second round, carding birdies on holes 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15, and 17. “It was a great day out there,” said Barcos. “The big difference was the putter. Yesterday, I had 3 three-putts that held me back, but today my putting was on point and working the whole day. That really helped me shoot a low score.” As he looks ahead to the final round and the season’s conclusion, Barcos remains focused but grounded. “I think it’s more motivation—you’ve been playing the whole year to get to this point, so I’m motivated to finish the season strong. Tomorrow, it’ll be the same plan as the past two days: try to hit the best shot possible and stay in the present. I’ll try not to look at the leaderboard until the last few holes, but sometimes it’s hard not to sneak a glance.” Despite the pressure, he remains calm and keeps things in perspective. “I’m trying to keep it simple and stay focused on the shot I’m about to hit. Off the course, I’m just having fun with the friends I’m traveling with and trying to stay away from golf a bit.” Looking ahead to what’s next, Barcos added: “I’m really looking forward to playing the final in Rome and trying to finish as high as possible in the Order of Merit. Hopefully, tomorrow I can clean up a couple of tee shots that got me into a bit of trouble today.”

Joining Vecchi Fossa and Barcos in a share of the lead is France’s Paul Franquet, 20, who continues to impress in the early stages of his professional career. Having turned pro at the beginning of September, Franquet shows no signs of nerves, following up a 6-under-par 66 in the opening round, where he was tied for third place, with another 6-under-par 66 today to reach a two-day total of 12 under-par. Already a multiple-time top-three finisher as an amateur, Franquet appears poised to make an immediate impact at the professional level. His second round included 3 birdies and 1 bogey on the front nine, followed by 4 more birdies on the back. Reflecting on his performance, Franquet said: “Today was just as good as yesterday, I’m feeling really good overall.” Entering the week ranked 52nd, he acknowledged the added pressure of playing in the final event of the regular season. “Yeah, being the last event of the regular season brought extra pressure because I knew I had to make the cut to have a chance. So, I’m proud of how I managed that.” Looking ahead to the final round, he remains confident in his approach. “I’m going to stick with the same strategy; I am very comfortable with it.” When asked about the strongest part of his game, Franquet added, “I think it’s the driver. I’ve been driving the ball well. But the other parts of my game are working great too.”

The Final Round will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9:28 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.

Manuel Morugan Leads After Round 1 of the 2025 Parma Alps Open.

Parma, October 9th, 2025 After the opening round of the 2025 Parma Alps Open, the leaderboard is shaping up to be a tightly contested battle. Spain’s Manuel Morugan sits atop the standings with an impressive 8 under-par, 64. Just one shot behind is Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, who holds solo second place at 7 under par. In a 6-way tie for 3rd place at 6 under-par: France’s Paul Margolis and Paul Franquet, Italy’s Davide Buchi, and Spain’s Jorge MaicasAsier Aguirre Izcue, and Borja Martin all well within striking distance heading into the second round.

This week marks the conclusion of the regular season, presenting a pivotal opportunity for players to earn critical points, whether to improve their standing in the Order of Merit or to maintain their current positions. With the season winding down, every result carries added weight. The top five players in the final Order of Merit will earn promotion to the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour, making this event a decisive moment in the race.

Round 1 Players’ Quotes

Spain’s Manuel Morugan, 34, a past winner on the Alps Tour, surged to the top of the leaderboard after the opening round of the 2025 Parma Alps Open with an impressive 8 under-par, 64. His only blemish came on the 18th hole, his ninth of the day, but he more than made up for it with 9 birdies, including a strong run on holes 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, and 14. Reflecting on his round, Morugan was pleased with his all-around performance. “My putting was exceptional today, and I only missed one green—I hit 17 greens in regulation, which gave me a lot of chances,” he said. “Everything was working well.” Looking ahead, he believes that smart positioning off the tee will be crucial. “In my opinion, the key for the next two days will be hitting as many fairways as possible,” Morugan explained. “The greens are firm, so you must have the ball in a good lie to hit your approach shot aggressively. Otherwise, you need to play it safer.” With just two rounds remaining, he is maintaining his focus on the task at hand. “I’m not focused at all on the Order of Merit,” he said. “I’m just concentrating on playing my game the best I can and enjoying every round. I never look at the leaderboard, and that’s what I’ll continue to do over the next two days.”

Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, 31, finds himself in 2nd place with a 7 under-par, 65 after the 1st round. Currently ranked third in the Alps Tour Order of Merit with 23,525.48 points, he is looking to strengthen his position ahead of next week’s season finale. A proven contender on the Alps TourVecchi Fossa has multiple career victories, including winning the 2021 Order of Merit, which earned him status on what is now the HotelPlanner Tour. In today’s round, he got off to a fast start with an eagle on the 12th hole, followed by birdies on the 14th, 16th, and 18th holes. He kept the momentum going with additional birdies on the 1st, 3rd, and 7th holes, with his only blemish of the day being a bogey on the 6th hole. After posting a nearly flawless opening round, Vecchi Fossa credited his strong play and consistent approach as the keys to his performance. “It was a great round,” he said. “I played well, and I putted very well, too. The greens are very firm, and you need to hit good shots into them—I was able to do that well today.” Looking ahead, the 31-year-old has no plans to change his strategy. “Over the next two days, I want to do the same thing as I did today,” Vecchi Fossa explained. “I’m not the type of player who changes plans or strategy between rounds. I just need to keep playing well without thinking about the other players, the leaderboard, or the Order of Merit.” While there may be pressure at this late stage of the season, Vecchi Fossa is focused on staying present. “I’m taking this tournament like any other event. Maybe if I have a risky shot, I’ll think about it twice, but I want to keep playing my own game, which has been really good lately, and enjoy every round.”

Paul Margolis, 26, from France, who has previously won on the Alps Tour as an amateur in 2021, is in a 6-way tie for 3rd place at 6 under par. He turned professional at the end of 2021 and has since earned various top-10 finishes, including his win. Margolis began his round on the 1st hole and quickly found momentum, making four birdies in a row, on the back-nine, he made a bogey on hole 11 before making 3 more birdies on holes 13,14 and 15 to close out his day. After his round, Margolis reflected on his performance, “My round was very chill today, to be honest,” he said. “I hit the ball good off the tee, and I putted well too; that was probably the best part of my game.” The setup of the course stood out to him. “The greens were so firm and fast today, it felt like we were playing a mini–US Open out here. That surprised me as it was unexpected,” he added. Margolis got off to a dream start, which set the tone for the rest of his round. “Beginning my round with four birdies in a row gave me a lot of confidence, especially making two long putts on Holes 2 and 3,” he said. “When you know you have the speed dialed in, it’s easier to attack the flag.” Despite the strong showing, he remains realistic about his position in the season-long standings. “I’m not thinking about the Order of Merit, to be honest. I know I’m still far away and need two very good results to make something happen,” he admitted. “So I’m just focused on myself and trying to hit the best shot I can on every shot. It’s a simple thing—but hard to do. Today’s main goal was to do that, and I believe I did it well, and that’s the plan for the next two days too.”

Italy’s Davide Buchi, 29, navigated the opening round of the tournament with a bogey-free 6 under-par, 66 to be in a 6-way tie for 3rd place. He began the day on the front nine holes, where he carded birdies on holes 1, 3, and 4. Once he made the turn to the back nine, he added three more birdies on holes 11,13, and 16. Reflecting on his round, Buchi was pleased with how he handled the course. “It went very well,” he said. “I played very well from tee to green today. I hit some good iron shots into the greens and kept the right attitude to stay under par.” Course management, he noted, was key. “I didn’t hit a lot of drivers out here,” he explained. “I found it to be more of a strategy course, so it’s really about placing the ball in the right spots and having good yardages into the greens as they are very firm.” As for the bigger picture, Buchi is keeping things simple. “I’m just focused on hitting good shots and trusting the process,” he said. “I’m not paying much attention to the leaderboard or the rankings, right now, I’m really just focused on my own golf.”

Spain’s Jorge Maicas, 28, winner of the 2025 Gösser Open and currently 8th in the Order of Merit, sits in the 6-way tie for 3rd place after the opening round of the tournament. He is looking for a solid performance this week to try and make a move in the standings. Maicas opened his round on the 1st hole and carded three birdies on the front nine. On the back nine, he added four more birdies, with a single bogey being the only blemish on his card, finishing with a 6 under-par, 66. “The day went really well overall,” Maicas said after his round. “The weather was pretty good, which definitely helped with the results. I was driving the ball really well and hitting a lot of greens in regulation, which gave me plenty of birdie opportunities.” Looking ahead, he knows what it will take to stay in contention. “The key for the next couple of days will be to stay patient on the greens and accept mistakes when they come,” he noted. “I’m not really thinking about the ranking right now. I’m just focused on taking it day by day and putting together some solid rounds.”

Asier Aguirre Izcue, 26, from Spain, the winner of the 2025 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon, also finds himself in the 6-way tie for 3rd place. Currently sitting 10th in the Order of Merit, Aguirre Izcue is aiming for a strong finish this week to climb further up the rankings and secure his spot among the top contenders. Starting his round on the 10th hole, Aguirre Izcue opened with a bogey but quickly turned things around with a string of birdies on holes 12, 13, 14, and 18. On his inward nine—the course’s front nine, he added another birdie at the 1st hole, offset by a bogey on the 3rd hole, before picking up two more birdies on the 4th and 7th holes. He signed for an opening round of six-under-par 66, putting himself in a strong position early in the week. “Very good, very tidy, and with very few mistakes,” he said when assessing his round. “Overall, everything worked well. I was in a good position the whole time, and the putting worked well. It was probably the best aspect of the day.”  Looking ahead, Aguirre Izcue knows consistency will be crucial. “I think continuing to make as few mistakes as possible and sinking putts will be the key,” he added. “It’s hard not to think about the ranking, but I try to stay in the present and take it one round at a time.”

Joining MargolisBuchiMaicas, and Aguirre Izcue at 6 under-par 66 after the opening round are Spain’s Borja Martin and France’s Paul Franquet, rounding out a tightly packed group in pursuit of the lead.

While this venue has yet to host an official Alps Tour regular-season event, it has previously been used as one of the venues for Stage 1 of the Alps Tour Qualifying School.

This week marks the final tournament of the regular season, a crucial event for players aiming to secure important points to climb the Order of Merit rankings or a last chance to secure their positions. As the season nears its conclusion, every result could significantly impact the standings. With promotion to the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour on the line for the top five players in the final Order of Merit standings, the stakes are high, and all eyes will be on the outcome as players vie for their chance to advance.

5th May 2025 | Alps Tour Golf

The Tradition Continues: The 11th Edition of the Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON Returns This Week

Como, May 5th, 2025 – After a successful Tunisian Swing and a brief break, the Alps Tour is ready to resume action this week with the 11th edition of the 2025 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON, held in the picturesque northwestern region of Italy. The tournament will take place from May 7th to 9th, 2025, at the renowned Golf Club La Pinetina in Appiano Gentile, near Como.

Named in honor of the highly regarded golf instructor Giorgio Bordoni, this event celebrates his legacy following his unexpected passing in 2013 at the age of 48. Bordoni was a co-founder of the innovative Blue Team Golf Academy, a pioneering initiative in golf coaching. He also dedicated many years to the Italian Golf Federation, where he served as National Coach and achieved numerous accomplishments throughout his career.

Since its inception in 2014, the Memorial Giorgio Bordoni has been a mainstay on the Alps Tour calendar, except for 2020 when the event was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The tournament kicks off on May 6th with the traditional Alps Tour Best Ball Aggregate to Par Pro-Am, which will begin with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. local time.

The Field

Four of this season’s five tournament winners are set to headline this week’s field, promising a highly competitive showdown. Among them are Switzerland’s Luca Galliano, currently ranked 6th in the Order of Merit and winner of the season-opening 2025 Ein Bay Open; Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela, the current Order of Merit leader and two-time winner this season with victories at the 2025 Red Sea Little Venice Open and the 2025 Tunisian Golf Open; and fellow Spaniard Javier Barcos, ranked 4th and winner of the 2025 New Giza Open.

In addition to the season’s standout winners, nine of the top ten players in the current Order of Merit standings will also tee it up this week. France’s Quentin Debove ranked 3rd will be in the field alongside, Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa ranked 5th, Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar (7th), Filippo Bergamaschi of Italy (8th), Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney (9th), and Italy’s Manfredi Manica, who rounds out the top 10.

Since it was established in 2014, the Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON has become a standout event on the Alps Tour, consistently showcasing emerging talent from across Europe and beyond. The inaugural title was claimed by Spain’s Borja Virto, with fellow countrymen Sebastián García Rodríguez (2019) and Ángel Hidalgo Portillo (2021) continuing Spain’s strong tradition in the event. Italy’s Guido Migliozzi, now a multiple winner on the DP World Tour, secured victory in 2018.

A standout moment came in 2022, when Italy’s Gregorio De Leo recorded a remarkable final-round 59 to capture the title and earn promotion to the Challenge Tour, now the HotelPlanner Tour. In 2023, the Netherlands’ Kiet Van der Weele earned his second win of the season with a nine-stroke victory margin. Most recently, in 2024, Italy’s Mattia Comotti captured the trophy with an impressive 15-under-par winning score.

This week, a field of 144 players representing 16 different nationalities will compete for the sixth title of the 2025 Season.

The tournament offers a total prize fund of €42,500, and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner will take home €6,200 and earn 6,525 points toward the Order of Merit standings.

The event will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut made after 36 holes to the top 40 professionals and ties, plus amateurs within the cut. In the event of a tie at the conclusion of the final round, the tournament winner will be decided by a sudden-death play-off.

The Course

Nestled in the scenic woodlands of Appiano Gentile, just 35 kilometers north of Milan and 12 kilometers south of Como, Golf Club La Pinetina is set to host this week’s 2025 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON.

Originally opened in 1971 with a 9-hole design by John Harris, the course saw an expansion with an additional 9 holes designed by Gianni Albertini. It underwent further renovations in the 2000s, led by David Mezzacane. This 5,761 meters, par-70 course is renowned for its undulating terrain and natural beauty. It covers 70 hectares of the “Appiano Gentile and Tradate Pinewood Regional Park”. The course winds through a rich landscape of pine, oak, chestnut, Scotch pine, and birch trees. Players are treated to panoramic views of the Lombardy Alps and Monte Rosa, Italy’s second-highest peak.

While not particularly long by modern standards, the course’s hilly layout and intricate design demand accuracy, strategic thinking, and careful club selection. Its distinctive natural features and standout holes make Golf Club La Pinetina a memorable and challenging test for professionals and amateurs alike.

10th October 2024 | Alps Tour Golf

France’s Paul Elissalde leads by 1 after the opening round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open.

Gazzola, October 10th, 2024- France’s Paul Elissalde leads the way with a 7 under-par, 64. In 2nd place, only 1 stroke back with a first-round score of 6 under-par, 65, Austrian amateur Jakob Lotschak and Ireland’s Robert Moran. Tied for 4th place at 5 under-par: England’s Harry Ellis and France’s Aymeric Laussot

It was a typical fall day on the border between the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna Region that welcomed the players for the first round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open played at Croara Country Club near Piacenza, Italy. Play began this morning at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole.

This is the second time Croara Country Club has hosted an Alps Tour event.

Round 1 Player Quotes

France’s Paul Elissalde, 28, concluded the 1st round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open with an incredible bogey-free 7 under-par, 64 and be in the lead by 1 stroke. During today’s round, he made 7 birdies. He is a past winner on the Alps Tour and has earned numerous Top 10s during this season. When he concluded his opening round, Elissalde commented on how he learned a very valuable lesson today: “It was very good. I quickly made two birdies that put me in a good momentum. Then I knew I had to be patient because I had a lot of birdie opportunities, and I’m glad it paid off! Today, I learned that patience always pays off.”  Elissalde isn’t: “expecting anything more for the rest of the tournament. I’m going to try to continue in the same direction and state of mind as I did today. Maybe I’ll play less well tomorrow, maybe I’ll play better, but the game is good, so I don’t feel any changes need to be made. My long game was particularly good today. I missed only one fairway.” Elissalde added that he realizes that: “I am indeed in the race to finish in the Top 5 of the Alps Tour at the Grand Final next week, but it has not changed anything for me currently. I got there thanks to what I’ve been doing the entire season, so the mistake would have been to change the process. I will try to stay focused on what I can do in the hopes that it is enough.” He also explained how he: “won my last tournament in France 3 weeks ago so that proved to me that I could win. The game is good, the mindset is good, and my biggest goal will be to keep it for the next two days.”

Amateur Jakob Lotschak, 19, from Austria, is in a 2-way tie for 2nd place after the 1st round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open alongside Ireland’s Robert Moran. He competed last week at the Swiss Golf International Championship, concluding the tournament in 2nd place, only 1 stroke from the win. During today’s opening round, he made 3 birdies on the front nine holes and 3 more birdies on the back nine holes for an incredible bogey-free 6 under-par, 65. After his round, Lotschak was very happy, “It was a very solid round of golf today. I started well with 2 birdies in a row, and no bogeys were made, and I was able to make a lot of putts today. I’m looking forward to the good weather here in Italy over the next two rounds, but most importantly, enjoy every moment.” Lotschak is competing as an amateur and plans on“remaining amateur over the next year and a half. Afterward, I will decide what’s best for me. I competed last week and finished 2nd. I played well, but I must say I was able to bring the confidence I had on the greens with me.”

Ireland’s Robert Moran, 25, is the second player in the two-way tie for 2nd place after the opening round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open. He shot an opening round of 6 under-par, 65, making 7 birdies and a single bogey.

England’s Harry Ellis, 29, is in a 2-way tie for 4th place at the conclusion of the 1st round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open. He shot a bogey-free 5 under-par, 66 opening round with 2 birdies and 1 eagle on the front-nine holes and 1 additional birdie on the back-nine. He captured various Top 10 finishes throughout the 2024 season. After he concluded his bogey-free round, Ellis commented: “I’m happy with the overall performance of how the day went today. I was able to hit some solid approaches most of the times that set me up for some good opportunities.” He added that: “I’m always learning from every round I play, so I have another 36 holes to further that learning and see if I can also continue to kick on.” Ellis believes that what significantly made a difference in his game was that: “I was ?better focused over the shots. I am much clearer about what I am trying to do with the shot and am doing my best to execute it. However, this season, I really tried to focus on the greens and being able to convert more putts. It felt good to roll some putts in today.”

Alongside Ellis in the 2-way tie for 4th place at 5 under-par, the winner of the 2024 season-opening event, France’s Aymeric Laussot. He made 5 birdies on the front nine and then added 1 more birdie and 1 bogey on the back nine to conclude his day.

The 120 players are competing for a prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 points. The winner of the second edition of the 2024 Croara Alps Open will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Round 2

The second round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open will begin again at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. After Round 2, a cut will be made to the top 40 players and ties who will compete during the final round.

He is just 18 years old, turned professional at the end of 2022 and currently represents Golf Club SeignosseGuillamoundeguy already was an Alps Tour winner as he won last season while he was still competing as an amateur. After he sealed his 1st win, Guillamoundeguy was very emotional: “today was really good. It was a good fight. The pins were really tricky today but I did really well with my caddie. I made a small mistake on the 9th hole but was able to bounce back with a birdie on the 12th so it was really good. I’m so happy, it’s a nice feeling.”  He went to add that he found, Miglianico Golf & Country Club is a really good course, there are some easy holes and some tough holes. It’s a bit tricky but if you want to win here you have to hit the ball well.”  Guillamoundeguy was pleased about today as, “I moved up in the Order of Merit and that was my objective. You know the 1st year as a pro isn’t always easy as there is a lot of pressure but I’m really happy about how this week went. Now I will go back home and enjoy this win with my friends and family and then back to work to focus on the end of the season where I want to try and win another tournament.”

I definitely regret hitting driver Out of Bounds on the 17th hole. I had a 1 shot lead at the time and the only thing you can’t do on that hole I did so that is a major regret I have and then I unfortunately tried to make it up on the last hole and I missed a 1m30 putt for birdie on the 18th hole to force a playoff.” Porsius went on to add that “I knew I had to play well this week. Unfortunately, it’ll be a few weeks until the next tournament where I will actually be in the field to defend the title so hopefully I can give myself another opportunity to grab a win this season. I will keep focused in these weeks off on the golf and what I’ve been working on as I finished 3rd last week and 2nd this week so results are coming.”

Round 2 Player Quotes

Davey Porsius, 27 years old from Netherland shot an incredible 8 under-par, 62 in today’s round for a two-day total of 12 under-par to find himself in the lead ahead of the final round. He was in a 7-way tie for 3rd place after the opening round, but he made 9 birdies and 1 single bogey during his 2nd round to move into the lead. After the round, Porsius commented on how “I hit it a little bit better than yesterday but was able to hole some nice putts during the round which is always good, I enjoyed it for sure. Today was a really good day, I mainly focused to hit one shot at a time and it works nicely. I feel like the wind was less strong than yesterday, maybe it was just the difference in the two waves but that made it a bit easier but the conditions overall were quite similar to yesterday.” When preparing for tomorrow’s final round, he plans to “rest and do some stretches, I want to make sure my body stays in good shape.” Porsius got ill right before the start of the 2023 Croara Alps Open, subsequently he had to miss out on a few events, “it would mean so much to win tomorrow, after getting sick, I knew I needed to play well the remaining tournaments to get into the top 5 in the Order of Merit rank. A 3rd place in Tenerife and a win this week would mean I can skip first stage of DP World Tour Q-School and would put me in position to have a better chance of making it to the Challenge Tour next year.”

France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy who is just 18 years old, who was tied for the lead after yesterday’s 1st round, finds himself in 2nd place with a two-day total of 9 under-par after today’s round 2. After the round, Guillamoundeguy proudly commented: “that today was a great round. I take the momentum from the 15th hole for my great finish. I can say that my long game was definitely better than yesterday however my putting wasn’t as sharp.”  He went on to add that he finds Miglianico Golf & Country Clubin good shape. The greens are slightly soft but they were better today even though I didn’t make as many putts. My strategy was good and I will stick with the same plan tomorrow. I will try to just be myself in the final round and play the golf I know I can play and see what happens. I’ve been playing well but need to put all pieces together to try and earn my first professional win.”

Twenty-seven years old, Manfredi Manica from Italy, winner of the 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand, was tied for 19thplace yesterday but is now in a three-way tie for 3rd place with a total score of 8 under-par. After his round, Manica was very pleased, “I played very solid today especially my long game. I found that the course was playing slightly easier today. There was less wind and the pins were more accessible like the 6th and 8th hole.”

France’s Franck Medale is also in the three-way tie for 3rd place with a two-day total of 8 under-par alongside Manica. He is 28 years old and represents Golf EspalaisMedale is a winner on the Alps Tour as he captured the 2021 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or. Unfortunately, I missed a few opportunities that would have made it an even better round. I feel like I just have to keep putting myself in good position and let the putter do his magic to hopefully win another tournament.”

He shot a 5 under-par, 65 in today’s second round where he made 2 bogeys and 7 birdies. Poncelet has earned a win and various top 5 finishes over the years in his Alps Tour career.
