Hubert Tisserand wins on home soil
Amateur Hubert Tisserand from Lyon, France, won the Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or five shots clear of fellow countryman Fabien Marty.
It was almost a one way battle during last round. Fabien Marty managed to come tie with Tisserand after birdying third hole but Tisserand made a birdie on the 4th par 5 and Marty dropped two shots back to back on 4th and 5th. He never caught up with the 22 year old amateur.
Tisserand played solid but birdies did not fall on the front nine, he turned -10 total. He had a quick look to the leaderboard to check if he was leading and then stuck to his game plan, -make birdies and avoid mistakes-.
« I knew I had to make a lot of birdies today because it’s getting harder if you’re beginning bad. My goal was to be aggressive to achieve my plan. When I hit my tee shot on number 10, I just looked at the leaderboard very quickly to see if I was first or not. I was so I told myself that I needed to keep this lead. I had to continue to make birdies and that is why I try to hit the green on the 11th. But it was not that easy because it was pretty windy on some holes. I knew that playing my game would be the best solution to win. »
You have a 5 shot lead and you hit pretty well so there is no reason not to hit driver on the 18th.
Tisserand as an amateur won’t get any euros, his check will go to the first pro, Fabien Marty but he will get the points for the ranking and will have the opportunity to play when he wants a Alps Tour winner.
A group of four players are ties for third place, Scott Danny Young, Italy’s Aaron Zemmer, France’s Nicolas Tacher and Spain’s Daniel Berna.

Amateur Hubert Tisserand leads in France
French amateur Hubert Tisserand, 22, shot 69 to lead by one shot at -9 over his fellow countryman Fabien Marty. A couple of Spaniards is one shot further, David Berna and Santiago Tarrio.
Saturdays in a 4 round tournament is supposed to be the shortest day of the week but Mother Nature had decided to disturb the schedule and morning heavy rain delayed the game of two hours. It was a totally different playing conditions after summer and 35°C, it was wet, windy and 19°C.
« It did not bother me » said the leader. « I stayed at the hotel this morning and I managed to enter the round very quickly as I holed a long putt on the first hole for birdie. My game was not so sharp until the fourth but then, I played solid.
I made a mistake on the 9th. We had to wait at the tee but eventually we were told to play and we both miss (Fabien Marty and I) our tee shot on the right. I had a good bogey there because my first ball found the water. »
Clément Sordet from Lyon is the last amateur to have lift the trophy in Metz. Tisserand is from the same city and admitted it would be nice if he could walk in the footsteps of his compatriot.
Fabien Marty was leading by 3 shots heading to the 12th hole but his opponent holed for back to back birdie there and Marty dropped one shot on the 14th and two on the 18th to slept back.
Spain’s Daniel Berna fired the score of the day, 66, -5 to join Santiago Tarrio at -7 total.

100% French podium with Marty leading
It is a 100 % French podium heading to the week end in Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or. France’s Fabien Marty, 33, birdied half of the holes of Golf de la Grange aux Ormes golf course. He had 9 birdies and eventually signed for a 65, 6 under par card to lead with – 9 total.
The player from Biarritz only missed two greens and hit 16 fairways. He could save the par on the 9th and in addition of missing the green on the 13th, he had three putts for a double bogey. Marty’s best season was in 2009 when he recorded three runner up places and many top 10. He had graduated to play on Challenge Tour in 2009.
Amateur Hubert Tisserand confirmed his good form and shot 68 today for -7 total. Louis Capon is 2 shots behind after 68 as well.
The cut felt at +2 for 46 players including 2 amateurs.

Trio to lead in France, Grava, Tisserand and Grammatica
A group of 3 players share the lead of Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or with -4. France’s Thomas Grava (pict), amateur Hubert Tisserand and Italy’s Alessandro Grammatica.
Summer finally arrived in Europe but in a brutal way. Last week was sad and wet in Metz, about 17° C and today, the temperature was more than 30°C in the shade. Players suffered a lot from the heat.
Grava, 22, declared his 6 month work with mental coach is helping him a lot.
« I managed to play shot by shot. I understand way better the way I feel and what to do if stress comes. My putting was efficient. I took clear decisions and results are there. I only made one mistake today on the 16th, a par 3. But all in all, it was a nice round. »
Tisserand is a student of University of South Carolina, and had a solid 2015-2016 season. His stats on pars4 are really impressive, -6.
Grammatica, whose best result is a runner up place in 2012 in Italy, had six birdies and 2 bogeys to signed for -4.
A pack of 4 players is one shot behind, Nelson Da Silva, Uli Weinhandl, Fabien Marty and Lucas Vacarisas.
