The 2024 Winter Series moves to Cairo for the 2024 New Giza Open.
Cairo, February 29th, 2024 – The Alps Tour players continue their journey in Egypt this week as they move to Egypt’s capital, Cairo, to compete in the third and final event of the 2024 Winter Series, the 2024 New Giza Open. The tournament will be played at the beautiful New Giza Golf Club in Cairo from March 1st to March 3rd, 2024.
The Alps Tour debuted at New Giza Golf Club in March 2019, and the inaugural event was won by Italy’s Lorenzo Scalise, now a regular on the DP World Tour.
The Field
Both of this season past winners will be headlining the field of the 2024 New Giza Open: Aymeric Laussot, winner of the 2024 Ein Bay Open, and Jose A. Sintes Navarro (am), winner of the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open.
Jose Manuel Pardo Benitez, Manfredi Manica, Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, and Augustin Holé, who are all winners on the Alps Tour during the 2023 season, will also be in the field during the final event of the 2024 Winter Series.
In addition, all players currently in the top 10 of the Order of Merit rank except for Lukas Lipold, 4th place will be competing this week.
Among the 120 players scheduled to compete at the final tournament of the 2024 Winter Series, there will be approximately 23 worldwide countries represented, among which: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cameroun, Egypt, England, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Slovenia, Swiss, Tunisia and Venezuela. The field will consist of 100 professional players and 20 amateur players.
As for the first two events of the 2024 Winter Series, at the 2024 New Giza Open, there will be approximately 120 players competing for an overall prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 Order of Merit Points. The 2024 New Giza Open winner will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The event will be played as a 54 holes stroke play tournament where a cut will be made after 36 holes.

The Course
The final event of the 2024 Winter Series, the 2024 New Giza Open will be hosted at the beautiful New Giza Golf Club in Cairo, Egypt, located about 200km northwest of Sokhna Golf Club.
It is located on 200 acres of land and was built by Thomson, Perrett & Lobb, featuring some amazing views of the world-famous Pyramids of Giza. The course seamlessly melds the natural terrains, creating an inspiring environment for all players. It meanders through an old quarry, offering the players some suggestive views. It has some strategically placed bunkers, changes in elevation, scenic lakes, and an impressive desert landscape cutting into the huge undulating greens, which altogether complete the experience at New Giza Golf Club.
The players competing this week will play the course set up as a 6711 meters, Par 72.

Another 1st time winner on the Alps Tour! Gianmaria Rean Trinchero captures his 1st professional title at the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera
The final round of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera played at the beautiful Tecina Golf in La Gomera began at 8:30 am and the leaders teed off at 9:52 am local time under sunny skies, a warm temperature and swirly windy conditions. This is the 4th edition of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera.
Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, 28 years old representing Golf Club Monticello, came from behind to vanquish his 1stprofessional win at the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera. He shot an impressive 9 under-par, 62 in today’s final round to conclude with a three-day total of 19 under-par. He had a great start to his final round with 6 birdies in his first 7 holes of the day. Rean Trinchero has captured good results so far this season including a 2nd place finish at the 2023 Gösser Open but was looking to breakthrough and conquer his 1st professional victory. He’s been playing professional golf since 2020 and prior to his win, he was 16th in this season’s Alps Tour Order of Merit rank. After his win, Rean Trinchero’s first reactions were, “I began really well today. I played really well the front nine then I saw that I had a few shot margins between me and the player in 2nd place so I then tried to play less aggressively that’s why I made only 2 birdies on the back nine. I played extremely well and it makes it even more special and I’m very happy.” When asked about what it means to him to have captured his 1stprofessional win and became a 1st time winner on the Alps Tour, he added, “this win means a lot to me. I feel like I’ve been playing well and was 16th in the order of merit and needed to capture a win to try and be in the top 5 spots so it means a lot in this particular moment of the season. More importantly I’ve regained a good level of confidence in my game so I’m very happy about that also. I want to thank my parents, my coaches Giovanni Dassù and my putting coach Camilla Mazzola.” Looking at the rest of the season, Rean Trinchero added that: “my season goals won’t change. I need another good finish in one of the next two events to be sure I can stay in the top 5 so another win would obviously be great but I’d be happy with a few good top 5 finishes.”
Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela from Spain whos hometown is Tenerife was tied for the lead after two rounds, had a final round of 4 under-par for a three-day total of 15 under-par. He made 1 bogey and 5 birdies in his final round. He is 26 years old, turned professional in 2021 and this is his 3rd season on the Alps Tour. After he completed his last round, Hernandez Cabezuela was satisfied even though he came up short: “I played well but Gianmaria was unbeatable, on the front 9 I left some shots out there as I was only able to make 1 birdie and made a mistake on the 8th hole. Then I played really well on the back nine but I am happy overall because I feel I can win, my performance this week reflects that I am playing well and my time will come.”
The tournament ends with a two-way tie for 3rd place with a three-day score of 13 under-par, Dutch-duo: Davey Porsius and Bob Geurts. In a four-way tie for 5th place only 1 stroke back: Spain’s Quim Vidal, France’s Franck Medale, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney and France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy.
After the 11th tournament of the season, Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele keeps the Alps Tour Order of Merit lead with Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney in 2nd place and England’s Jack Floydd in 3rd place. This week’s winner Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, moved into 6th place.
Final Round
Gianmaria Rean Trinchero winner of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera earned the winning check of € 5.800,00 and 6,525 Order of Merit Points.
The next event on the schedule for the Alps Tour gets underway from July 27th until July 29th at Miglianico Golf & Country Club where the players will be competing for the 2023 Abruzzo Alps Open.

The 2nd round of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera which is being played at the breathtaking Tecina Golf on the Island De La Gomera in the Canary Islands began with a 30 minutes delay. They delay occurred as there were some very strong overnight winds that toppled various palm trees throughout the golf course therefore the head superintendent and his staff needed extra time to get the course back into playing conditions for the players. The Alps Tour wants to thank Tecina Golf head superintendent Josè Arrola and his staff as well as Real Federación Española de Golf superintendent Miguel Guerra for their incredible work to allow us to start the second round.
This is the 4th edition of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera. The 2nd round officially began at 8:50 am local time from the 1st hole.
Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela who’s hometown is Tenerife in the Canary Islands, was tied for 14th place at the conclusion of yesterday’s 1st round, after today’s round, he is tied for the lead. He followed his opening-round of 4 under-par 67, with a 7 under-par 64 in the second round for a two-day total of 11 under-par. Today, he made 1 eagle, 1 bogey and 6 birdies throughout his round. He is 26 years old, turned professional in 2021 but is playing his 3rd season on the Alps Tour. After his round, Hernandez Cabezuela was very pleased, “I played much better today, specially from the 1st hole to the 7th. Then I had a couple more chances for birdie but unfortunately didn’t make them. I’m very happy with the score because it was a bit tougher today also condition wise. The wind was obviously a big factor today, it was very gusty so it made it even tougher.” He went on to explain that: “I caught a huge momentum going through the front nine. Just dropped a few putts and hit some really good shots making 4 birdies and 1 eagle in a row. I will for sure be looking for many more tomorrow. I will be focusing on playing my own game, I’ll need to bring my best to hopefully win my 1st title tomorrow and it would be even more special being at home.”
Oihan Guillamoundeguy from France who shot a 6 under-par, 65 during the 1st round and was tied for 5th place, finds himself in the two-way tie for the lead. He followed his opening-round with a 5 under-par, 66 in the second round for a two-day total of 11 under-par. During today’s round, he made 1 bogey, 1 eagle and 4 birdies. Guillamoundeguy is just 18 years old, represents Golf Club Seignosse and he is a past winner on the Alps Tour having won the 2022 Red Sea Little Venice Openas an amateur. He turned professional in December 2022 and he is now competing in his first season as a professional player. So far this season he has captured various top 5 finishes but is looking to breakthrough and grab his 1st title as a professional on the Alps Tour. After the second round, he was very content as he “it was a great round today. I didn’t play as well as yesterday but today was a great effort. The beginning of the day was a struggle as I was hitting some bad shots and quite unlucky in some situations which was hard but then on the 7th hole, I made a clutch putt for birdie which gave me some good momentum.” Guillamoundeguy made an incredible eagle on the par 4, 9th hole where: “My shot of the day was definitely on the 9th where I hit a 4-iron to about 5 meters from the pin and made the putt for eagle.” He went on to add that: “I will try to catch the win tomorrow for sure. It would mean a lot but I don’t want to get too far ahead. I plan on playing like the past two days and see where I end up.”

Twenty-four years old, Bob Geurts from Netherlands who was tied for 2nd place after yesterday’s 1st round, now is a two-way tie for 3rd place, only 1 stroke off the lead at the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera. He finds himself with a two-day total of 10 under-par after his 3 under-par, 68 in round 2 with 1 bogey and 4 birdies. He turned professional towards the end of last year and prior to this tournament, his best finish was an 11th place at 2023 Gösser Open and at the 2023 Croara Alps Open. When he concluded his round, he commented that, “today was totally different than yesterday. There was much more wind but I still managed to play well and put myself in a good position. It could have been better if a few more putts dropped but overall, I’m happy. It definitely played a bit harder and I had to focus on what direction the wind was coming from.” Geurts went on to add that, “tomorrow I plan to just play my own game like I did the past two days and see if it will be good enough for the win.”
Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero shot an 8 under-par, 63 round today for a two-day total of 10 under-par and is tied for 3rdplace alongside Geurts ahead of tomorrow’s final round at the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera. He is 28 years old and he represents Golf Club Monticello. During today’s round 2, he made 1 double bogey and 10 birdies.
In 5th place with a two-day score of 9 under-par France’s Augustin Hole who shot a bogey-free 6 under-par, 65 in today’s round.

It began as another beautiful day in the Canary Islands with sunny skies and warm temperatures for the 2nd round of the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. The tournament is currently being played in the Canary Islands at Buenavista Golf near Buenavista del Norte, Tenerife, Spain. The 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open is co-sanctioned with the Pro Golf Tour, therefor the field is split between players belonging to both tours.
The second- round action began at 8:00 am local time this morning from both the 1st and 10th hole.
Round 2 Player Quotes
Gianmaria Rean Trinchero from Italy shot a bogey-free 9 under-par, 62 round today for a two-day total of 15 under-par and holds a one stroke lead ahead of tomorrow’s final round at the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. He turned 28 years old yesterday and represents Golf Club Monticello. With his 9 under-par, 62 in today’s round, Rean Trinchero ties the tournament course record which was previously set by Peter Nygren. When he signed for his incredible bogey-free round, he was very satisfied: “I barely made any mistakes today which is very satisfying. I never had the opportunity to make bogey which is something that doesn’t happen every day. I’m very proud of my round today, I can tell you that the main difference is that I was able to clearly see more lines on the greens today so maybe some putts I missed yesterday, today I was able to make them. The par 5s are relatively short therefor you must take advantage and today I was able to accomplish that making 1 eagle and 3 birdies. I’m very satisfied on how I handled the par 5s but most importantly on how I putted today.” He plans on “hitting every fairway and every green tomorrow and must take advantage of the par 5s. If I can make 5 birdies on the par 5s I’m pretty confidence I’ll have a good chance tomorrow. My caddie today helped me tremendously helping me with the lines and my strategy so part of today’s result is thanks to her.”
Germany’s Christian Braunig who was tied in 3rd place after yesterday’s 1st round, now finds himself only 1 stroke off the lead. He followed his opening-round of 7 under-par, with another 7 under-par in the second round for a two-day total of 14 under-par. During today’s round, he made 1 eagle, 7 birdies and 2 bogeys. He concluded his round an eagle on the par 5, 9thhole, “Today I had a slow start making some crucial up and down on the first few holes. I tried to stay patient and then on my back nine, the course back nine, I hit some very good shots and some putts finally dropped. I finished with an eagle on 9, my 18th which was very satisfying. Tomorrow I want to try and take as much advantage from the par 5 and as many birdies as possible.”
England’s Jack Floydd, winner of the season opener 2023 Ein Bay Open in Egypt, is now in a two-way tie for 2nd place after the 2nd round of the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. He is 26 years old, represents Haywards Heath Golf Club and currently 4th in the Order of Merit standings. Floydd turned professional in 2020 and is playing his 3rd season on the Alps Tour. He finds himself with a two-day total of 13 under-par after his 4 under-par, 67 in round 2 with 2 eagles, 3 birdies and 3 bogeys.When he concluded his round, he commented that he found, “the conditions very similar to round 1, the pins were a little trickier though. I am happy with my round today and I’m looking forward to having a chance at winning my second event of the season tomorrow. Winning my second event would not change anything. I try to go out each week and give myself a chance to win so I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow.” Floydd added that he believes “tomorrow’s winning score to be -18.”
Lars Keunen from Netherland who was tied for 6th place after the first round, now finds himself in the two-way tie in 2nd place at 13 under-par. He made 4 birdies and 2 bogeys on his front nine and 5 birdies on the back nine for a second round of 7 under-par, 65 and holds a two-day total of 13 under-par. He currently is in 9th place in the Order of Merit ranks and has been constantly near the top of the leaderboards in the majority of the events this season while he looks to capture his 2nd win. Keunen is 26 years old and represents The Dutch Golf Club. After his round, he commented on how special it was to “finish my round with three straight birdies. That was very good. I found the course to be playing pretty similar to yesterday. However, I believe that some pin positions were definitely trickier than in yesterday’s first round.” He went on to add that “Tomorrow I think the winning score will be 20 under-par or better.”
There is 3-way tie for 5th place with a two-day total of 11 under-par with a Finish duo: Alex Hietala and Eemil Alajarvi and Ireland’s Paul Murphy.

A total of 40 players made the cut which was set at -6.

The Tour heads back to Italy for the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open.
This is the first time that Croara Country Club will host an Alps Tour event. Being a new event on the schedule, it is sure to be an intriguing week where players will be subject to a new course, and its subsequent conditions. At the end of the event, we will have an inaugural winner of this Alps Tour stop with a new tournament score record for this golf course.
The Field
A very strong field is expected this week in Italy for the 7th event of the season.
All of this season previous winners will be competing for the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open title except for Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele who captured 3 titles so far including last week’s event in France.
The following top 10 Order of Merit players are expected to compete: Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, England’s Jack Floydd, Spain’s Quim Vidal, France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy, Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto, Netherland’s Davey Porsius and Lars Keunen, Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue and Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero.
The field will be made up of 144 players representing 16 different nations. The players will be competing for a prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 points. The winner of the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open, will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The tournament will be played as a 54 holes stroke play event, where a cut will be made after 36 holes. The top 40 players and ties will compete during the final round scheduled on June 10th.

The Course
Croara Country Club located in Gazzola near Piacenza, Italy is situated only a few kilometers from Piacenza and about 96 km south of Milan, close to the border between Lombardy Region and Emilia-Romagna Region. The first nine holes were designed by Buratti and opened for play in 1976. While the second nine holes opened for play in 1983 and were designed by Croze and Lo Cascio. It will be played as a 6065 meters par 71 course.
It is located in an undulating area that is affected by the temperate climate of the close Liguria region. The 18 holes that run alongside the Trebbia River are considered a very technical course with relatively narrow fairways bordered by oaks, chestnut trees and locust trees that offers fascinating sceneries.
This is the first time that Croara Country Club will host and Italian Pro Tour event as well as an Alps Tour tournament. Nonetheless, it hosted the 1st Italian Women’s Open in 1987.
Tournament Promoter
Like the majority of the Alps Tour events that are played in Italy, the 2023 Croara Alps Open is organized by the Italian Pro Tour, which is a branch of the Italian Golf Federation. They are responsible for promoting the majority of the professional golf events that occur in Italy.
The main sponsors that support the Italian Pro Tour include DS Automobiles, Fideuram Intesa SanPaolo Private Banking, Kappa, Rinascente and Poste Assicura. Como, May 22nd 2023- After a week off, the tour returns to action in the Northwestern part of Italy for the 9th edition of the Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon. This will be the 5th event of the 2023 season and will be played at Golf Club La Pinetina near Como, Italy from Wednesday 24th May until Friday 26th May. On Tuesday 23rd May, the traditional best ball aggregate to par pro-am will take place with approximately 25 teams competing.
This tournament is named and dedicated to highly acclaimed golf instructor, Giorgio Bordoni who unexpectedly passed away in 2013 at the age of 48. He was one of the founders of the Blue Team Golf Academy, a unique and innovative initiative in the world of coaching. He also worked many years for the Italian Golf Federation as a National Coach earning many accomplishments in his career.
This is the 9th edition of the tournament which has been a consistent stop on the Alps Tour schedule since 2014. In 2020, it was the only year the event wasn’t played due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Field
All of this seasons winners that include: England’s Jack Floydd currently 5th in the Order of Merit and winner of this season opener Ein Bay Open, Spain’s Quim Vidal current leader of the standing and winner of the 2023 Red Sea Little Venice Open, Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele winner of the 2023 Alps de Las Castillas and currently 3rd in the standing and most recent winner at the 31st Gösser Open Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney who is 2nd in the Order of Merit rank, will headline a strong field that will compete for the 2023 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon title.
Alongside the current season winners, 4 players in the top 10 in the Order of Merit will compete: France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy who is in 4th place, Italy’s Andrea Romano in 7th in the Order of Merit rank with his compatriots Gianmaria Rean Trinchero who is in 8th place and Cristiano Terragni rounds out the top 10.
The Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon title was captured by notable players over the years. The 1st edition of the event in 2014 was won by Spain’s Borja Virto while his compatriot Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez came to victory in 2019. Another Spanish victory occurred in 2021 with Angel Hidalgo Portillo winning with a total score of 14 under-par. Current DP World Tour player, Italy’s Guido Migliozzi triumphed in 2018.
The 2022 edition was won by Italy’s Gregorio De Leo, he won the 2022 Alps Tour Order of Merit and became a Challenge Tour player. He conquered the event in style with a fabulous 59 in the final round!
From 2015 to 2018 as well as the most recent edition was won by Italian players: Marco Crespi, Stefano Pitoni, Guido Migliozzi, Andrea Perrino and Gregorio De Leo all of whom have been able to honor their fellow colleague, Giorgio Bordoni with victories.
This week, there will be 144 players competing from 16 different nationalities for the title.
The players will be playing for a prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 points. The winner of the 2023 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon, will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The format of the tournament is a 54 holes stroke play, where a cut will be made after 36 holes. The top 40 players and ties will compete during the final round on May 26th 2023.

The Course
Golf Club La Pinetina in Appiano Gentile, Italy is situated 35 km north of Milan and 12 km south of Como. It is a very undulating 5761 meters par 70 course. It was designed by Harris Albertini Mezzalane and opened in 1971. It offers beautiful panoramic views of the nearby landscape that includes view of Monte Rosa which is the second highest mountain in Italy and the Alps of Lombardy.
Golf Club La Pinetina covers 70 hectars in the “Appiano Gentile and Tradate Pinewood Regional Park” rich of pine trees, oak and chestnut trees as well as Scotch pine and birch trees. It’s not a particularly long course, however the complex design situated on a very hilly terrain, requires accuracy and precise strategy from each player. Thanks to the natural layout of this golf course, players will find notable holes that will allow this course to stand out from the rest.

Like the majority of the Alps Tour events that are played in Italy, the 2023 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon is organized by the Italian Pro Tour, which is a branch of the Italian Golf Federation. They are responsible for promoting the majority of the professional golf events that occur in Italy.
For this week’s event, Aon is the tournament Presenting Sponsor. Aon is also a worldwide partner of the 2023 Ryder Cup which will take place at Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome from September 29th until October 1st.

Ronan Mullarney wins the 31st Gösser Open
Maria Lankowitz, May 13th 2023– Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney wins a weather shortened 2023 Gösser Open with a two-round total of 12 under-par. Gianmaria Rean Trinchero from Italy concluded the tournament in 2nd place with a two-day score of 8 under-par. In 3rd place, a past winner of the Gösser Open Austria’s Timon Baltl with a total score of 7 under-par. Tied for 4thplace just 1 stroke back France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy and Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto.
The 144 players in the 2023 Gösser Open field had to compete three days with a constant rain fall and cold weather condition. As the rain never stopped falling over Golf Club Erzherzog Johann in Maria Lankowitz, Austria the course was definitely softer but the weather conditions didn’t make it easy for the players.
Due to the delays and the unfavorable weather forecast, yesterday, the Tournament Committee of the 31st edition of the Gösser Open decided to reduce the tournament to 36 holes with no cut.
Play was first suspended on Thursday during the 1st round due to flooded greens and continuous heavy rain. Round 1 then resumed yesterday, Friday 12th May thanks to the great work performed by the Golf Club Erzherzog Johann- Maria Lankowitz superintendents lead by head superintendent Robert Keusch and his staff.
The second round began yesterday at 3:00pm but at 7:30pm, Tournament Director Alessandro Pia, suspended play due to darkness. The last 18 holes resumed today at 8:00 am still under an unceasing rain fall and cold weather.
Final Round Player Quotes
Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney who is 27 years old, captured his 1st full-field professional win at the 2023 Gösser Open! He shot an 8 under-par 64 in this first round and a 4 under-par 68 in round 2 for a two-day total of 12 under-par. He previously had played in some events in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic began but this is his 1st full year on the Alps Tour. Ronan turned professional in 2019 and competed in the 2022 Open Championship. After his victory, he was very pleased, “It was a difficult 36 holes, in these conditions. Trying to keep the umbrella up and down and keeping my bag as dry as possible, a lot of things to happening on top of the golf that has to be played. Being from Ireland and having grown up into these conditions probably helped me. I can assure you that no one likes playing in these conditions but I might have slightly more experience than the rest of the guys.” Ronan went on to add: “I’m delighted to have won this event but it won’t mean a lot to me unless I’m able to end the season in the top 5 at the end of the year.”
Gianmaria Rean Trinchero from Italy who currently represents Golf Club Monticello concluded the tournament in 2nd place at 8-under par. After his round, Gianmaria happily commented: “today was another very wet round of golf, unfortunately, I got the bad side of the draw where we got hit with the heaviest rain but I’m pleased as I played pretty well from tee to green and putted very well.” He went on to add that “I’m very happy because I didn’t make any silly mistakes that allowed me to not make many bogeys. I would like to thank my caddy for the support this week on all the on-course decisions we made together and allowed me to not make silly errors”. Gianmaria also said: “My objectives for the year won’t change, I obviously would like to finish the season in the top 5 of the Order of Merit rank.”
Austria’s Timon Baltl who represents Murhof Golf Club and previously won the Gösser Open in 2019, concluded the tournament in 3rd place with a two-day score of 7 under-par. He captured his Challenge Tour card in 2020 thanks to the results he achieved on the Alps Tour in the 2019 season. Timon concluded the event as the highest Austrian player on the leaderboard. After the round, he commented “I played a lot of golf at this golf course since it’s very close to where I was born. I played various junior events growing up as well as the Gösser Open for so many years. It really helps to know the course inside and out especially as I know the greens well and they can be tricky. I stayed in Graz at my dad’s house this week which is what I believe one of the reasons that allowed me to play well.” Timon believed his key this week was to “stay calm and patient especially with the weather conditions we had and also because the course was really wet. It would have been easy to get frustrated but I’m glad I was able to remain patient throughout the week.”
At the conclusion of the 31st Gösser Open, Spain’s Quim Vidal still leads the current Order of Merit standings. Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney jumped into 2nd place with his win today. In 3rd place Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele and in 4th place France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy. England’s Jack Floydd rounds out the top 5.
Final Round
Ronan Mullarney winner of the 2023 Gösser Open, earned 6,525 Order of Merit points and the winning check of €5,800. The players competed for an overall prize fund of €40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points.
Due to the fact that the 31st Gösser Open became a 36 holes event with no cut, the prize money will be assigned to the top 40 professional players and ties. The Order of Merit points will be given to the top 40 (and ties) Alps Tour Members both professional as well as amateur players.
The next scheduled event is set for May 24th-16th at Golf Club La Pinetina in Como, Italy for the 2023 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON.
