On the beautiful Island De La Gomera, in the Canary Islands, the first round of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomeraplayed at the beautiful Tecina Golf began at 8:20 am. This is the 4th edition of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera after its previous three editions which were hosted in 2018, 2019 and 2022. The players were able to compete under perfect weather conditions which favored good scoring opportunities as they began the tournament with sunny skies and minimal light winds.
Round 1 Player Quotes
Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, 27 years old leads by 2 strokes after his great 1st round at the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera. He shot a bogey-free, 9 under-par opening round. He currently sits in 2nd place in the Order of Merit Rank and captured his 1st full-field professional win at the 2023 Gösser Open which took place in May. He previously had played in some events in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic began but this is his 1st full year on the Alps Tour. Mullarney turned professional in 2019 and competed in the 2022 Open Championship. After his performance, he commented: “I’m very pleased, I played nice and putted quite well. Today I was able to birdie a lot of the par 5s and one eagle which definitely helped. The course is nice, the practice putting green is different than the course so it took a little while to get used to while I got out there.” He added that he’s “usually fairly aggressive off the tees hitting a lot of drivers, and I plan to keep doing that the next two rounds and hopefully I keep putting well.”
Kevin Hesbois from Belgium, 32 years old who currently represents Ternesse Golf & Country Club, concluded his 1st round with a 7 under-par, 64 and is one of the three players tied for 2nd place only 2 strokes back. He made 1 eagle, 6 birdies and 1 bogey during his opening round. After his round, Hesbois commented on how well he played, “Today was fun and I obviously played well all day. On the front nine, I hit it close a couple times which helped create the momentum for the round. I was able to finish strong as well which is always nice when you have it going low.” Hesbois went on to add that: “course is really good. Conditions are good and promote low scoring. Wind was a small factor. The warmth was harder to manage. I have no real expectations this week. Just going to keep focusing on the right things. Only goal is to give myself as many birdie chances as possible and stay as patient as possible. Scores will take care of themselves.”
Netherland’s Bob Geurts, 24 years old is the second player tied for 2nd place with a first-round score of 7 under-par. He turned professional towards the end of last year and prior to this week, his best finishes were a tie for 11th place at the 2023 Gösser Open and at the 2023 Croara Alps Open. During today’s round, he made 1 eagle, 4 birdies and 1 bogey on the front nine and 1 bogey and 3 birdies on the back nine for a 64. After his round, Geurts was happy that he “hit the ball great and put myself in good spots to make birdies. It was a really solid day of golf. I tried to keep it simple and put a good round together.” He also commented that Tecina Golf “is great, it’s a relaxing and nice course. I love the layout and the fact that there wasn’t a lot of wind today was very fortunate.”
Twenty-six years old, Davide Buchi from Italy is the third player tied for 2nd place after his opening bogey- free 7 under-par, 64. He currently represents Golf Club Varese and has gathered a couple of top 20 finishes so far this season. Buchi began his round with 2 birdies and an unbelievable albatross on the par 5, 3rd hole in his first four holes. After his bogey-free round, Buchi happily commented that “I hit a great iron shot but I’d never thought that it would go in. It’s my first albatross of my career. It for sure gave me good momentum for the remaining of the round. I want to keep thinking about my own game and keep playing well like today. The course is in excellent conditions and the rough isn’t too high, therefor we will be able to go low.”
In the 3-way tie for 5th place at 6 under-par: France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy, Ireland’s Michael Young and Spanish amateur Jose Antonio Sintes Navarro.
The highlight of the day belongs to Italy’s Davide Buchi who made an incredible albatross on the 500 meters par 5, 3rd hole.
Round 2
The second round of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera will begin again at 8:20 am local time from the 1st and 10thhole. After round 2, a cut will be made to the top 40 players and ties.
The players are contending a prize fund of €40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points
The first-round leader, Ronan Mullarney will begin round 2 at 12:00pm local time from the 1st hole.

The players head back to the Canary Islands for the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera.
This will be the 4th edition of the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera after its previous three editions which were hosted in 2018, 2019 and 2022. As we are head towards the final stretch of the season, players are competing for important Order of Merits points.
Tecina Golf has been the stage where great talents have developed who today are considered some of the best players in the world. La Gomera has been a European destination for professional golf for the past 12 years, including hosting a Challenge Tour event for 8 consecutive years.
Last year’s title was captured by Netherland’s Vince Van Veen with a total score of 15 under-par.
Seven of this season past winners will attend the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps de la Gomera: England’s Jack Floydd winner of the first tournament of the season the 2023 Ein Bay Open, Spain’s Quim Vidal winner of the 2023 Red Sea Little Venice Open, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney winner of the 2023 Gösser Open, Italy’s Luca Cianchetti winner of the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open, Spain’s Jose Manuel Pardo Benitez winner of the 2023 Alps de Andalucía, Netherland’s Lars Keunen winner of the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open and our most recent winner at the 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand, Italy’s Manfredi Manica.
Current Order of Merit leader Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele who captured 3 wins this season: the 2023 Alps de Las Castillas, the 2023 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON and the 2023 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or will not be competing as he earned himself a Challenge Tour card for the remainder of this season as well as the 2024 season.
On the other hand, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney who won the 2023 Gösser Open and second in the rank as well as England’s Jack Floydd who is currently third in the rank and winner of the season opener in Egypt will be in the field to try and secure their Challenge Tour status for next year. Alongside them all the remaining players in the top 10 of the current standings will be competing in the Canary Islands.
The 102 players estimated to compete this week, will contend a prize fund of € 40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The winner will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. There are 16 nations represented among the players which will compete for the 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera title.
As there aren’t many events remaining in the 2023 season, the players are eagerly competing to earn a spot in the top 5 Order of Merit rank which at the end of the season, will give them access to the 2024 Challenge Tour.
The 2023 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera will be played as a 54 holes stroke play and a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 players and ties.

The Course
Tecina Golf will be played as a 6343 meters par 71 course. The golf course was designed by British architect Donald Steel, and is located on the hill of Lomada de Tecina specifically on the Canary Island of La Gomera, which was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 2012.
It’s a demanding course made up of 18 holes course, which overlook the Atlantic Ocean and all 18 holes are played facing the ocean, surrounded by a lush sample of Canary flora. It is set in the middle of a native Canary Islands vegetation such as banana and mango fruit trees succumbing to an unbelievable scenery. To reach the 1st tee, the players will need to climb up the hill and the course is played downhill from there.

Vince Van Veen captures his first win at the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera.
La Gomera, July 16th 2022- Vince Van Veen captures his first win at the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera after one hole of sudden-death playoff. France’s Julien Sale (am) and Netherland’s Vince Van Veen concluded their final round at Tecina Golf, taking part in a two-way sudden-death playoff thanks to their three-day score of 15 under-par. One shot back tied for 3rd place at 14 under-par Portugal’s Tomas Guimaraes Bessa, France’s Tom Vaillant (am) and Netherland’s Lars Keunen. There was a two-way tie for 6th place at 13 under-par: Ireland’s Jonathan Yates and Swiss Daniel Gurtner.
Italy’s Gregorio De Leo, remains the current Alps Tour Order of Merit leader after 15 events. France’s Julien Sale (am) has now moved into 2nd place and France’s Tom Vaillant (am) into 3rd place.
In the beautiful backdrop of the Canary Islands, the final round of 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera played at the spectacular Tecina Golf on La Gomera Island, began at 8:30 this morning while the leaders teed off at 9:47am. The weather conditions have been constant throughout the tournament days creating good scoring opportunities for the players. When the first groups teed off, there was a comfortable temperature with barely any wind. However, mid-morning, the wind picked up creating intricate conditions for the players.
Winner Quotes-
Netherland’s Vince Van Veen, 26 years of age wins the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera after 1 hole of sudden-death playoff by holing out a chip shot for birdie. He was 15th in the Order of Merit before the start of this week, but has now moved into 8th place. Vince shot a 6 under-par round today for a three-day total of 15 under-par. He has been playing very solid during this entire season and was glad to have captured his first win on the Alps Tour at a course he was familiar. When he completed the playoff, he was very pleased, “the course was playing a lot easier today as there was less wind. There were some tricky pins but as there was less wind it made it easier. I’ve been playing well for quite some time but I kept believing and doing the same things that were making me play well which eventually led to today’s victory. To win in this fashion, in a playoff chipping in makes it even better as I’ve been waiting a while for this. There were definitely some emotions at the end which I was glad to let go.” Vince dedicates “this win is to my entire team as they have helped me throughout the tough times. We stuck together, communicated openly and I’m glad to have them by my side. My season goal was to get into the top 5, I’m close and I’m happy to have made a big stride here. I’m very thankful for the people around me who kept believing in me.”
French amateur, Julien Sale who is only 24 years old, continues to demonstrate his solid performance having 8 top 10 so far this season, 5 of them occurred in the last 5 tournaments. He has now moved into 2nd place of the Order of Merit rank. During today’s final round, Julien shot an incredible bogey-free final round of 7 under-par round.
Portugal’s Tomas Guimaraes Bessa, winner of the third event of the season, the 2022 New Giza Open concluded the tournament in a three-way tie for 3rd place at 14 under-par. He shot a final round of 8 under-par, 63 which was the lowest round of the day. His round today included 1 eagle, 7 birdies and a single bogey. After his amazing 8 under-par round especially a fabulous eagle at the reachable par 4, 2nd hole, Tomas commented “the 2nd hole is a reachable par 4, I hit a perfect drive to 10ft and made the putt it really was a perfect hole! Of course, an eagle so early in your round, especially a final round gives you a good boost. The wind was really calm this morning which was nice, Alvaro and I were both playing really well and pulling for each other which made it even better.” He also thoroughly enjoyed the location this week, “this week is definitely one of the best weeks of the year no doubt! An amazing hotel with views over the Atlantic. The golf course is in perfect shape what else can we ask for!” When asked about his plans for the rest of the season Tomas responded, “considering the position that I am at in the rankings and how well the other guys are playing my goal is to play my best and be in contention every week. That’s the only chance I have of getting in the top 5 by the end of the year and hopefully a win will happen along the way.”
Amateur Tom Vaillant, a two-time winner this season concluded the tournament in a three-way tie for 3rd place with a total score of 14 under-par. After his round he commented “it was another great week for me. Being in contention on the final day and finishing in the top 3 is always very positive. I’m looking forward to continuing my good performance in the next event.”
Netherland’s Lars Keunen, shot a final round of 1 under-par to conclude the tournament in the three-way tie at 14 under-par.
Final Round –
Vince Van Veen winner of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera, earned 6,525 Order of Merit points and the winning check of €5,800.

Lars Keunen maintains his lead after 2 rounds at the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera.
La Gomera, July 15th 2022- First round leader, Netherland’s Lars Keunen maintains his lead following the second round of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera. He has a two-day total of 13 under-par. In a tie for 2nd place at 10 under-par only 3 shots back, three of this season previous winners: Koen Kouwenaar, Stefano Mazzoli and Tom Vaillant (am). In a tie for 5th place, Netherland’s Vince Van Veen.
It was another gorgeous day at La Gomera, the second-smallest main island of the Canary Islands, host of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera. The tournament played at the beautiful Tecina Golf began at 8:30 this morning under sunny skies. The scoring conditions were more favorable in the morning thanks to the slight breeze while in the afternoon, the conditions were more complicated due to a stronger persistent wind.
Round 2 Player Quotes-
First round leader, Netherland’s Lars Keunen maintains a 3 strokes lead heading into the final round of the tournament. He shot a 5 under-par,66 today for a two-day total of 13 under-par. His round toady included 4 birdies, 1 eagle and 1 bogey. After his round, Lars commented that his game “was pretty similar to yesterday, I unfortunately holed a few less putts. Today was definitely windier so it was slightly trickier. Tomorrow I will approach it like any other round, knowing that I have some good players only a few shots behind so I will definitely have to go low.” When asked what a win would mean to him, being 16th in the rankings, Lars responded “a win would be really great, I definitely need it but if it doesn’t happen tomorrow I know it will happen at some point but at least I’ll be able to move up in the ranking.”
Koen Kouwenaar, winner of the 2022 Molinetto Alps Open, is in a three-way tie for 2nd place at 10 under-par heading into tomorrow’s round. He shot the lowest round of the day with a fantastic 8 under-par 63. Being a past winner and currently 4th in the Order of Merit, he would like to add another title to his record which would move him up in the rankings securing him a spot for next year’s Challenge Tour. During today’s round, he made 6 birdies and 1 bogey on the front nine and 2 birdies, 1 eagle and a bogey on the back nine. After his round Koen commented on how today “there was definitely less wind than yesterday and from the afternoon, however the wind today was the opposite direction compared to yesterday. For example, today on the par 5,3rd yesterday I easily reached it in 2 and today I wasn’t able to reach it. Today the pins were slightly easier today compared to yesterday. There were some tricky ones for sure.” He also said that “My putter was very hot today especially on the back nine where on 15,16 and 17 I holed some nice long putts. I’m very happy with my -8 for today especially the way I stand. My game has improved a lot in the past few weeks as I’m avoiding a lot of big misses. On this golf course, distance control from the rough is very hard so I’m glad to be in the fairway for most of the day.” When asked about his strategy for tomorrow, Koen explained: “tomorrow I just want to be objective in the way I play, just do my thing. Don’t get distracted and be mentally very flat and not influenced by how my score is evolving throughout the round.”
Italy’s Stefano Mazzoli, who won the first event of the season, the 2022 Ein Bay Open is the second player tied for 2ndplace at 10 under-par. He shot 31 on the front nine and 34 on the back nine for a 6 under-par, 65 today. After his round, he explained that he played “well both days so far. I struggled both day scoring on the back nine even if I’m played really well. On the front nine my game was very solid both days. I missed some yardages on the back due to the wind. Tomorrow I need to take advantage of the short holes and the par 5 on the front nine. Also it’s important to maintain the ball in the fairway as distance control from the rough is tricky on this course.”
French amateur, Tom Vaillant two-time winner this season, and 2nd in the current ranking is looking to add a third title to his season. He is the third player who is tied with a two-day total of 10 under-par heading into the final round tomorrow. Tom made 8 birdies and 1 bogey during his second round. At the conclusion of his 7 under-par round, he mentioned “my game is great, I’m feeling really good and I think this course is a very good fit for me. Today was definitely windier for me compared to yesterday. Tomorrow I will approach the course with the same strategy than the past two days and we will see what happens.” He also added that his plan to change his playing status from amateur to professional should occur at the end of this year.
In 5th place at 9 under-par, Netherland’s Vince Van Veen. There is a 6-way tie for 6th place just one stroke back that includes: Gary Hurley, Davey Porsius and Julien Sale (am).
Final Round-
The final round of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera, will begin at 8:30 am from hole 1 and hole 12.
A total of 49 players made the cut which was set at even par (142). The leaders will tee off at 9:47 am from the 1st hole. The winner of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de la Gomera, will earn the winner’s check of €5,800 and 6,525 very important Order of Merit points.

Lars Keunen leads after Round 1 at the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera.
La Gomera, July 14th 2022- Netherland’s Lars Keunen leads the field with an 8 under-par 63 at the conclusion of Round 1. Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue, Netherland’s Vince Van Veen and French amateur Julien Sale are in a three-way tie for 2nd place at 5 under-par. Just one shot back, at 4 under-par and tied for 5th place: Spain’s Enrique Marin Santander, Italy’s Stefano Mazzoli and England’s Ben Schmidt.
In the beautiful backdrop of the Canary Islands, the first round of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera played at the beautiful Tecina Golf, on the Island de la Gomera began at 8:30 am. La Gomera is the second- smallest main island in the chain of the Canary Islands. This is the 3rd edition of the tournament, with the two previous events being played in 2018 and 2019. There were perfect weather conditions favoring good scoring opportunities for the players, with a sunny sky, temperature in the upper 20s and a northeastern wind around 20km/h.
Round 1 Player Quotes-
Netherland’s Lars Keunen leads the field with an 8 under-par, 63 in the first round of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera. His round today included a total of 9 birdies and 1 single bogey. He ended his round in a very positive way making 4 birdies in his last 4 holes. Lars has been playing well so far this season and his most recent finish was a tied for 3rd place last week at the 2022 Alps de Las Castillas. After his round, he commented “My driving has been very solid today. After playing well last week I felt good going into this week and am very happy with how the tournament began. Of course there is still a lot of golf to be played but it’s a very good start.” Lars also mentioned on how “the course is great this week and the views are really nice too! Makes it all a better day.”
Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue is one the three players tied 3 strokes back of the lead at the end of the 1st round. When he concluded his round, he commented on how he had a lot of opportunities for birdies and eagles during the round which he unfortunately didn’t convert, but his long game was extremely good all day. Asier said “I missed a short birdie putt but I made very good putts at 5 meters length. I was able to take advantage of all the short par 4s and the par 5s today and that was very good.” He also proudly mentioned on how this is his first time at “La Gomera and I love the place, and of course the golf course. I came with my mother, who is caddying for me, she came to disconnect a little and we are having a wonderful time, we are happy and enjoying a lot.”
Vince Van Veen from Netherland, who represents Goyer Golf & Country Club, is the second player in the three-way tie for 2nd place at 5 under-par. He has been playing very consistent throughout the entire season with his most recent top 10 finish at the Aravell Golf Open last month. After his 66 in round 1, Vince proudly commented on how “my game felt good today, I created enough chances even though I felt like I left some shots on the course and I had more in the tank. I played here before so I knew what it was like and what to expect. I would like to continue to focus on my own process and obviously it would be nice to continue the good play I’ve been doing.”
French amateur Julien Sale, who represents Saint Cloud Golf Club is the final player in the three-way tie for 2nd place just one-stroke back at 5 under-par. He’s been playing very well this entire season and has 8 top 10s so far, with his most recent finish being a tie for 3rd place at the 2022 Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open. After his round, Julien commented “my game was good, I played great from the beginning to the end and I was very in control of my game. I gave myself a lot of chances. I like the course, it’s really nice, it’s not tricky if there is no wind, however it complicates itself once the wind picks up. So far, we have been lucky with the wind. The view of the sea and Tenerife are amazing.” He is still an amateur and competes on the French National Team, he will “turn pro sometime in September as I will be playing in my last amateur event at the World Amateur Team Championship during the last week of August. After that during the month of September I will change my status and begin my professional career.”
Three players are in a tie for 5th place with a first-round score of 4 under-par: Enrique Marin Santander, Stefano Mazzoli and Ben Schmidt. There are 11 players in a tie for 8th place at 3 under-par which include: Tom Vaillant (am), Oihan Guillamoundeguy and Davey Porsius.
Among the 80 players competing this week you’ll find 67 professionals and 13 amateurs. They are competing for an overall prize fund of €40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The tournament winner will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points
Round 2-
Round 2 of the 2022 Fred.Olsen Alps de La Gomera, will begin at 8:30 am from hole 1. After the second round, a cut will be made to the top 40 players and ties.

The players head back to the Canary Islands for the 2022 Fred Olsen Alps de la Gomera.
La Gomera, July 12th 2022- The tour heads back to the Canary Islands this week for the 2022 Fred Olsen Alps de la Gomera. The tournament will be played at the iconic Tecina Golf from July 14th-16th. On July 13th, approximately 20 teams will participate in the traditional best ball aggregate to par pro-am. This will be the 3rd edition of the 2022 Fred Olsen Alps de la Gomera after its previous two editions hosted in 2018 and 2019. La Gomera has been a European destination for professional golf for the past 11 years, including hosting the Challenge Tour for 8 consecutive years.
As we are head towards the final stretch of the with the remaining 4 events, players are competing for important Order of Merits points. At the end of the season the top 5 players in the rank will gain access to the 2023 Challenge Tour season.
The Field-
Ten of this season past winners will attend the 2022 Fred Olsen Alps de la Gomera: Stefano Mazzoli winner of the first tournament of the season the 2022 Ein Bay Open, Oihan Guillamoundeguy winner of the 2022 Red Sea Little Venice Open, Tomas Guimaraes Bessa winner at the 2022 New Giza Open, Adrien Pendaries winner at the Winter Series Terre dei Consoli, Mathias Eggenberger winner at the Winter Series Golf Nazionale, Manuel Morugan winner of the 2022 Abruzzo Alps Open, Koen Kouwenaar winner at the 2022 Molinetto Alps Open, Tom Vaillant winner at the 2022 Open de la Mirabelle d’Or and the 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà, Gary Hurley winner of the Alps de Andalucía and Davey Porsius winner at the 2022 Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open.
Current Order of Merit Leader and most recent winner Italy’s Gregorio De Leo will not be in the field this week as he is taking a week off, however France’s Tom Vaillant (am) who is a two-time winner this season and second in the rank, as well as France’s Julien Sale (am) who is currently third in the rank will compete to try and secure their Challenge Tour status for next year.
There are 11 different nationalities represented among the estimated 85 players scheduled to play this week. The players will contend for a prize fund of € 40.000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The tournament winner will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The most recent tournament defending champion is Gonzalo Vicente Elena who won in 2019 with a score of 14 under-par.
The format of the tournament is a 54 holes stroke play and a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 players and ties.

The Course-
Tecina Golf will be played as a 6343 meters par 71 course. The course was designed by British architect Donald Steel, and is situated on the hill of Lomada de Tecina specifically on the Canary Island of La Gomera, which was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 2012. The course overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and all the 18 holes are played facing the ocean. To reach the 1st tee, the players will need to climb up the hill and the course is played downhill from there. The course is set in the middle of a native Canary Islands vegetation such as banana and mango fruit trees succumbing to an unbelievable ambiance.

Alps Tour 2020 Season Swings into Action with the Egyptian Winter Series
Suez (Egypt), February 15, 2020 – As the Alps Tour celebrates its platinum anniversary in 2020, the twentieth season tees off in Egypt at the Sokhna Golf Club with the Ein Bay Open starting on 18th February and the Red Sea Little Venice Open starting on 23rd February.
Located on the North of the Red Sea, just an hour’s drive from Cairo, the Sokhna Golf Club features a 27-hole Championship Golf Course designed by John Sanford and Tim Lobb. It is the product of the merger of the 18-hole El Ein Bay Resort and the 9-hole Little Venice Golf Resort.
There are familiar faces and new ones among the field of 120 players from 19 countries and 4 different continents. Among the 114 professionals and 6 amateurs are some of the victors on the 2019 Alps Tour, notably, the Italian, Edoardo Lipparelli, winner of the Open de Saint Francois Region Guadeloupe and winner of the 2019 Order of Merit, here on a wild card. His countryman, Luca Ciancetti, winner of the Katameya Dunes Open is also present, as well as Irishman David Carey, winner of the Cervino Open and the Spanish player Gonzalo Vicente Elena, winner of the Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera.
However, they will have some stiff competition from other experienced players and rookies eager to make their mark. All but three of last year’s Alps Tour tournaments were won by rookies including the Ein Bay Open where Frederic Lacroix from France was victorious. He will not be defending his title as he has now gone on to play the Challenge Tour having finished third on the Order of Merit last year. Similarly, last year’s Little Venice Open winner, the Englishman, Benjamin Wheeler, is absent this year so both titles are up for grabs.
Nothing would please Egyptian player Issa Abou El Ela more than to win one or both tournaments. He made his Mena Tour debut in October 2019 and will definitely be keen to shine on his home turf and follow in the footsteps of his father, Amr Abou El Ela, winner of seven Pan Arab Championships and one of the most respected names in Middle East & North African golf. The Mena Tour and the Alps Tour entered into a new partnership this year with the top five players on each being eligible to play the two circuits.
The Ein Bay Open will be played on Courses A and B a par 72, 6963 yards/6367 metres while the Little Venice Open the following week will be played on Courses B and C, a par 72, 6641 yards/6073 metres. The format for both is 54 holes of stroke play with the cut after 36 holes.
With the weather forecast to be warm and sunny the conditions should be ideal for the start of the new season and for the players to start sinking some birdies as this season sees the first player to achieve 240 of them receiving a 20,000€ bonus. Let the season begin!

Spain’s García-Heredia wins Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera
Alfredo García-Heredia (ESP) won today the Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera at the Tecina Golf with a total score of -18. The 36-year-old player from Spain’s Asturias region had been leading the tournament since the first round.
Rising golf stars of the Alps Tour will now travel back to Spain’s mainland for the Alps de Las Castillas in León July 18th through July 20th.
