Players were competing to try and capture the title as the winner of the last regular season event, the 2024 Croara Alps Open, as well as trying to make a final move in the Order of Merit standings to qualify or secure their spot into next week’s 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT- The Male Tools & Co. where the top 5 players in the standings at the end of the season will gain access to the 2025 Challenge Tour.
Final Round Player Quotes
Spain’s Alejandro Aguilera, 24, wins the 2024 Croara Alps Open after making a birdie on the 2nd playoff hole against Austrian amateur Jakob Lotschak. He earned the winning check of €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. Most importantly, Aguilera, before this week, was 56th in the Order of Merit standing and hadn’t qualified for next week’s 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT- The Male Tools & Co.. Thanks to his win, Aguilera moved up 34 spots and finds himself in 22nd place in the updated Order of Merit rank. He will be next week at the season-ending Grand Final. He followed his opening round of 69, then 68 in round 2 and an amazing 9 under-par, 62 to end the tournament at 14 under-par. In today’s final round, he made 10 birdies and 1 bogey. Before this week, his best finish was a 7th place at the 2024 Alps de Andalucía. This is his first win as a professional player on a tour, and Aguilera was extremely happy. “It feels great, but it feels weird that I wasn’t in contention this morning. So, you know, I could play freely and with less nerves. Once I started making some putts and cameras, I knew I was moving up the leaderboard and had a chance. I must admit that on the last few holes I was a little nervous. Overall, it’s unbelievable this is a dream for me.” He wants to: “dedicate my win to my parents, they are always there to help me every day and I’m extremely thankful.” When asked about his 62, Aguilera commented: “I did play pretty good today but it wasn’t anything exceptional especially off the tees. However, my putting was incredible, I was able to make a lot of putts and that’s the main reason I believe I shot 62.” He is now, “flying back to Madrid and I will be celebrating the win either tonight or tomorrow, however I will then be flying back to Milano on Monday and be ready to compete at the Grand Final. Obviously, the goal is to move up to the Challenge Tour and now I have two opportunities as I qualified for Stage 2 of DP World Tour Q-School and the possibility to earn my way up from the Grand Final, I’m excited and can’t wait for next week.”
The Alps Tour Order of Merit rank heading into the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT- The Male Tools & Co. has France’s Benjamin Kedochim still in the lead with 27,431.40 points. In 4th place with 16,539.75 points, France’s Théo Boulet and now in 5th place, Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto.
A few notable players who, due to this week’s finish, are able to play in next week’s 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT- The Male Tools & Co. are Italy’s Marco Florioli, who moved up 8 places in the Order of Merit ranking and is now 33rd place. 11th October 2024 | Alps Tour Golf
Amateur Jakob Lotschak leads after Day 2 at the 2024 Croara Alps Open.
Gazzola, October 11th, 2024- Austrian amateur Jakob Lotschak leads after round 2 at the 2024 Croara Alps Open with a total score of 11 under-par. In 2nd place at 10 under-par, hometown favorite Italy’s Elia Dallanegra. In 3rd place, Marco Florioli from Italy with a two-day total of 9 under-par. There is a 5-way tie for 4th place at 8 under-par that includes: Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto and Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, France’s Aymeric Laussot, Brandon Kewalramani from the United States of America and Luca Galliano from Switzerland.
It was another beautiful fall day that welcomed the players to Croara Country Club near Piacenza, Italy, for Round 2 of the 2024 Croara Alps Open. Play began this morning at 8:00 a.m. local time from both the 1st and 10th holes. This is the second time Croara Country Club has hosted an Alps Tour event.
Amateur Jakob Lotschak, 19, from Austria, leads the field after the 2nd round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open. He was in a 2-way tie for 2nd place after yesterday’s first round and shot a 5 under-par, 66. He made 7 birdies and 2 bogeys during today’s round. He competed last week at the Swiss Golf International Championship, concluding the tournament in 2nd place, only 1 stroke from the win. After his second round, Lotschak explained how today’s round: “was different. I had to save a lot more pars and scramble a bit more compared to yesterday’s. I kept making good putts and having good momentum on the greens like yesterday which was good.” He obviously never thought: “I’d be in this position after two rounds, I will keep doing everything like I did the past two days and I’m very excited. I can’t wait for tomorrow. I will try to stay in the moment as much as possible and don’t think too much which will allow me to avoid getting too ahead of myself. Also the most important will be to enjoy every moment. It will be an amazing experience no matter the outcome. Lotschak plans on: “remaining amateur for the next year and then decide what’s best for me. No matter the outcome of tomorrow, I will most likely stick to my plan but we will see at the end of the day what happens.”
Italy’s Elia Dallanegra, 21, who was tied for 24th place after yesterday’s 1st round with a 2 under-par, 69, finds himself in second place with a two-day total of 10 under-par after today’s round. He shot an amazing bogey-free 8 under-par, 63 during today’s round 2, making 4 birdies on both the front and back nine holes. Croara Country Club, this week’s host, is also Dallanegra’s home course, so he knows this course well and is looking to improve his performance from last year’s edition, where he didn’t make the cut, as well as trying to improve his position in the Order of Merit rank. After the round, Dallanegra proudly commented: “Today was very good, to be honest I played extremely well. My long game from tee to green was extremely solid and I’m very happy and satisfied about it. It’s been a tough few weeks for me but finally it seems like my game is finally coming back. The only negative aspect is I didn’t make as many putts as I wanted to today, but I definitely can’t complain about an 8 under-par round. Playing at home is always difficult as people put a lot of pressure on you, but at the same time, you have the advantage of knowing the course better than the rest of the field.” He added that today: “Is a record round for me, this year I was able to put together a 7 under-par round at the Gösser Open where I unfortunately ended up missing the cut but I’ve never been able to score a 8 under-par in a competitive round.” Looking back so far at his 2024 season, Dallanegra summarized that: “I need to do well this week to try and qualify for next week’s Grand Final. Obviously, it’s a goal for me but as I said this season I had a tough start so couldn’t collect as many points as I wanted to. Let’s try to put together another good round tomorrow and hopefully head to the Grand Final and finish the season positively.”
Marco Florioli, 19, from Italy who turned professional at the end of September, is in 3rd place with a two-day total of 9 under-par after round 2 at the 2024 Croara Alps Open. He followed his opening round of 4 under-par, 67 with a 5 under-par, 66. In today’s round, he made 6 birdies and 1 bogey on the par 3, 10th hole. Florioli, who has been performing well this season on tour, earning various top 5 finishes while still competing as an amateur player, won the 2024 Italian PGAI Championship last week, his first professional win.
The season opener winner, the 2024 Ein Bay Open, France’s Aymeric Laussot, 24, finds himself in a 5-way tie for 4th place only 2 strokes from the lead heading into the final round. He made 4 birdies on the front-nine holes and 1 bogey on the back-nine for a two-day total of 8 under-par. Laussot is currently 7th in the Order of Merit rank and is trying to make a final move to try and earn one of the five 2025 Challenge Tour cards that will be awarded after next week’s Alps Tour Grand Final. Laussot feels like he brought his: “A game this week and knew that if I had a really good game plan and stick to it, it would be a good day. I hit my wedges a bit closer than usual so far this week which usually was my weakness so I’m happy. Patience is really key I believe. I tried to take advantage of the birdie opportunities on the front nine and then on the back nine, you need to hit some good shots and keep going.” He is: “Actually really excited about tomorrow to be honest. The leaderboard is stacked and it’s going to be a battle with I think around 15 guys so it will be exciting. Just need to play my game and see where I end up tomorrow afternoon, but I honestly like my chances.” Being close to the Top 5, the Order of Merit rank has been on Laussot’s mind: “Of course it’s been on my mind, it’s been on my mind since Egypt. This is my first year as a Professional and obviously you make some rookie mistakes. I started to look at the Order of Merit a lot especially this second half of the season and that didn’t let me play freely as I normally would. Now, the mistake was made but now I need to shift my focus on my game and what I can do the next 4 rounds. There are 4 rounds left, in the 2024 season so want to make them count as much as possible while being true to myself and do my best like always.”
A two-time season winner, Brandon Kewalramani, 26, from the United States, is also in the 5-way tie for 4th place with a two-day total of 8 under-par. He shot a 6 under-par, 65 in today’s round 2 making 7 birdies and 1 bogey. Kewalramani won the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar and the 2024 Alps de Andalucia and is currently 2nd in the Order of Merit ranking. After his round, Kewalramani commented: “Overall, my game was solid today, and I got a few putts to fall, which felt great, to be honest with you. I am trying to focus on the task at hand and take it day by day and not the big picture. I know where I stand, and we have only 4 rounds left in the season therefore, my main focus will be to stay in the present and focus on one shot at a time.”
Luca Galliano from Switzerland, who was tied for 24th place after yesterday’s first round with a 2 under-par, 69, is now in the 5-way tie for 4th place heading into the final round. He made 4 birdies and 1 eagle for a 6 under-par 65 round and a two-day total of 8 under-par. Galliano is currently 20th in the Order of Merit standings and is looking to make a move ahead of next week’s season final event. He has earned numerous top finishes over the years, including a 3rd place finish at the 2024 Ein Bay Open. After his 6-under-par round, Galliano is looking forward to tomorrow, “I plan on playing another solid round, and at the end, let’s see if it’s going to be enough to win. My putter has worked well this week, and my game is solid. I’m excited.”
Alongside Laussot, Kewalramani, and Galliano in the 5-way tie for 4th place at 8 under-par: Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto and Jacopo Vecchi Fossa.
Final Round
A total of 50 players made the cut set at 139 (-3).
The final round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The final group will tee off at 9:28 a.m. local time from the 1st hole.
The winner of the second edition of the 2024 Croara Alps Open will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

France’s Paul Elissalde leads by 1 after the opening round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open.
Gazzola, October 10th, 2024- France’s Paul Elissalde leads the way with a 7 under-par, 64. In 2nd place, only 1 stroke back with a first-round score of 6 under-par, 65, Austrian amateur Jakob Lotschak and Ireland’s Robert Moran. Tied for 4th place at 5 under-par: England’s Harry Ellis and France’s Aymeric Laussot
It was a typical fall day on the border between the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna Region that welcomed the players for the first round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open played at Croara Country Club near Piacenza, Italy. Play began this morning at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole.
This is the second time Croara Country Club has hosted an Alps Tour event.
France’s Paul Elissalde, 28, concluded the 1st round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open with an incredible bogey-free 7 under-par, 64 and be in the lead by 1 stroke. During today’s round, he made 7 birdies. He is a past winner on the Alps Tour and has earned numerous Top 10s during this season. When he concluded his opening round, Elissalde commented on how he learned a very valuable lesson today: “It was very good. I quickly made two birdies that put me in a good momentum. Then I knew I had to be patient because I had a lot of birdie opportunities, and I’m glad it paid off! Today, I learned that patience always pays off.” Elissalde isn’t: “expecting anything more for the rest of the tournament. I’m going to try to continue in the same direction and state of mind as I did today. Maybe I’ll play less well tomorrow, maybe I’ll play better, but the game is good, so I don’t feel any changes need to be made. My long game was particularly good today. I missed only one fairway.” Elissalde added that he realizes that: “I am indeed in the race to finish in the Top 5 of the Alps Tour at the Grand Final next week, but it has not changed anything for me currently. I got there thanks to what I’ve been doing the entire season, so the mistake would have been to change the process. I will try to stay focused on what I can do in the hopes that it is enough.” He also explained how he: “won my last tournament in France 3 weeks ago so that proved to me that I could win. The game is good, the mindset is good, and my biggest goal will be to keep it for the next two days.”
Amateur Jakob Lotschak, 19, from Austria, is in a 2-way tie for 2nd place after the 1st round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open alongside Ireland’s Robert Moran. He competed last week at the Swiss Golf International Championship, concluding the tournament in 2nd place, only 1 stroke from the win. During today’s opening round, he made 3 birdies on the front nine holes and 3 more birdies on the back nine holes for an incredible bogey-free 6 under-par, 65. After his round, Lotschak was very happy, “It was a very solid round of golf today. I started well with 2 birdies in a row, and no bogeys were made, and I was able to make a lot of putts today. I’m looking forward to the good weather here in Italy over the next two rounds, but most importantly, enjoy every moment.” Lotschak is competing as an amateur and plans on“remaining amateur over the next year and a half. Afterward, I will decide what’s best for me. I competed last week and finished 2nd. I played well, but I must say I was able to bring the confidence I had on the greens with me.”
Ireland’s Robert Moran, 25, is the second player in the two-way tie for 2nd place after the opening round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open. He shot an opening round of 6 under-par, 65, making 7 birdies and a single bogey.
England’s Harry Ellis, 29, is in a 2-way tie for 4th place at the conclusion of the 1st round of the 2024 Croara Alps Open. He shot a bogey-free 5 under-par, 66 opening round with 2 birdies and 1 eagle on the front-nine holes and 1 additional birdie on the back-nine. He captured various Top 10 finishes throughout the 2024 season. After he concluded his bogey-free round, Ellis commented: “I’m happy with the overall performance of how the day went today. I was able to hit some solid approaches most of the times that set me up for some good opportunities.” He added that: “I’m always learning from every round I play, so I have another 36 holes to further that learning and see if I can also continue to kick on.” Ellis believes that what significantly made a difference in his game was that: “I was ?better focused over the shots. I am much clearer about what I am trying to do with the shot and am doing my best to execute it. However, this season, I really tried to focus on the greens and being able to convert more putts. It felt good to roll some putts in today.”
Alongside Ellis in the 2-way tie for 4th place at 5 under-par, the winner of the 2024 season-opening event, France’s Aymeric Laussot. He made 5 birdies on the front nine and then added 1 more birdie and 1 bogey on the back nine to conclude his day.
The 120 players are competing for a prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 points. The winner of the second edition of the 2024 Croara Alps Open will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
Round 2

After the first round of this event I was thinking about taking a two-week break but it was weird. I knew I was swinging well and when I began my 2nd round I walked to the tee telling myself I have all the chances to get a good round together and I had to believe in myself. I was able to put a 7 under-par round together and today an 8 under-par leaving some shots behind.” Romano added that he feels like he “needs to have a bit more self-confidence and consistency in his game to hopefully capture a win soon.”

Luca Cianchetti is in the lead at the 2023 Croara Alps Open!
It began as another beautiful spring day with warm temperatures which turned into an overcast day in the early afternoon on the border between the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna Region for the 2nd round of the 2023 Croara Alps Open. The tournament is being played at Croara Country Club near Piacenza, Italy and the second-round action began at 7:30 am this morning from both the 1st and 10th hole.
This is the first time that Croara Country Club is hosting an Alps Tour event and after tomorrow’s final round, we will have an inaugural winner for this event.
Round 2 Player Quotes
An Alps Tour previous winner, Italy’s Luca Cianchetti makes 1 bogey and 11 birdies for a 10 under-par, 61 holding the tournament course record. He heads into tomorrow’s final round with a one-shot lead, and a two-day total of 12 under-par. He is 27 years old and represents Modena Golf & Country Club. Over the years, he earned various wins on the tour but his most recent victory occurred at the 2021 Red Sea Little Venice Open. He won a pro-am on this course a few years ago and feels at ease. After his round, Cianchetti was happy to comment: “Getting off to a good start hitting great shots the first 4 holes with 4 birdies in a row definitely allowed me to have good momentum for the remainder of the round. I had great feelings since the beginning of the day and I’m pleased to have taken advantage of them.” He now holds the tournament course record with his 10 under-par round, he is “very happy to have the tournament course record but more importantly I’m pleased because I felt really good on the course. I strongly believe that you need to be patient and believe on the things you are working on and then results will come. I’ve been playing well lately but I just needed to be patient for the right time.”Cianchetti’s single bogey of the day came on the 5th hole where, “I 3-putted missing a short putt. It can happen but luckily making that mistake allowed me to keep my focus very high.” He aims to capture another trophy tomorrow since it’s been a while from his last win but he “would like to try and not focus on the ultimate objective but take it as another round of golf where I will try and performance my best like today and see what happens.”
Round 1 Leader, Italy’s Ludovico Addabbo finds himself in a two-way tie for 2nd place only 1 stroke from the lead heading into the final round. He made 2 bogeys and 6 birdies today for a two-day total of 11 under-par. He is 24 years old and turned professional at the beginning of 2020 shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic began. After his round, Addabbo commented how today “I was really precise of the tee again today, I hit my irons shot less well but luckily always missed them on the correct side but very happy to say my putter is still solid even if I holed a few less putts. Overall, I’m still very pleased on how the round went.” When asked about the conditions playing in the morning compared to the afternoon he thought that “the course is playing very similar to my afternoon wave tee-time yesterday. There is little wind and the heat was the same.” When thinking about tomorrow’s final round, Addabbo’s plan is to “head into the round with the same strategy and the same plan, I want to be very solid off the tee and hit as many greens as possible and see what will happen on the 18th green”
Luca Galliano from Switzerland who was tied from 4th place after yesterday’s first round, is now the second player in the two-way tie for 2nd place heading into the final round. He made 4 birdies and 1 bogey on his front nine and 3 birdies on the back nine for a 6 under-par 65 round. After his 6 under-par round, Galliano is looking forward to tomorrow, “I made 3 birdies in a row to end my round from hole 15 to 17 which allows me to be in a very good position heading into tomorrow where I hope to be able to capture the trophy, which would be my first win in a few years. I will head into the round with the same feelings as today and same game plan which I’ve seen is working well.” He added that he was very pleased on how he “made a good birdie on the 1st hole which is always positive. I missed a few short birdie putts on the next few holes and unfortunately 3 putted the 5th hole for bogey and from there on I played very well.”
Scotland’s Callum Bruce, 24 years old who currently represents Duff House Royal Golf Club was tied for 23rd place after yesterday’s 1st round, now finds himself in a 4-way tie for 4th place. During today’s 2nd round, he made 1 eagle, 1 bogey, 6 birdies which 3 in a row for a 7 under-par, 64 and a two-day total of 9 under-par. He turned professional in 2023 and is playing his 1st season on the Alps Tour. Bruce commented following his 7 under-par round that he “got off to a really good front nine being able to birdie a few holes early on like 2 and 4 and then ended with an eagle on 9, the par 5. On the back nine, holes 10 to 15 was a bit quite but then I hit a close shot into 16 and got a good birdie in and on the 17th hole, I hit a great 3wood into the green to about 25ft and 2-putted that and holed a nice 20ft putt on the final hole for a good finish. I tried to stayed patient, there is a lot of birdie chances on this course but just because you don’t birdie the holes everyone else does, doesn’t mean you can’t birdie the rest.” He also spoke about how he likes Croara Country Club: “The course is great, it’s in really good conditions and the greenkeeping staff did a fantastic job preparing it for us. I’ve spoken to other players and we are all enjoying the event being here.” Heading into tomorrow’s final round only a few strokes off the lead, Bruce added, “tomorrow I will just keep playing the way I’ve played the past two days, not much has changed in terms of the weather I believe so the game plan I decided at the beginning of the week seems to be working so I’ll continue to do that and as long as I give myself chances tomorrow should be fun and I look forward to it.”
Alongside Bruce in the 4-way tie for 4th place with a two-day total of 9 under-par there is French duo: Benjamin Kedochimand Nicolas Peyrichou as well as Italian amateur Flavio Michetti.

Round 1 Player Quotes
Ludovico Addabbo from Italy who concluded last week’s event in France tied for 7th place with a poor finish, has a 1 stroke lead after the 1st round of the 2023 Croara Alps Open. He turned professional in the early part of 2020, is 24 years old and represents Castelgandolfo Golf and Country Club. During today’s round, he made 3 bogeys, 2 eagles and 6 birdies for a 7 under-par,64. He had a very strong finish making an eagle on his 18th hole of the day, the actual 9th hole. After his round, Addabbo was ecstatic, “Today was a great day, I made a lot of birdies, 2 eagles and unfortunately 3 bogeys but I cannot be disappointed. My putter was definitely on my side today, I’ve had some issues with it in the past but today was not the case. After today’s round I hope now have a good relationship with my putter.” He added that he believes “the course is in good shape, you must hit it straight, very similar to last week in France but luckily this week it’s not as punitive.” He feels that he’s been playing well for a while now and now that the putter is finally on his side, “I feel I have some good golf coming. Tomorrow I won’t focus on anything specific, I will just try to hit as many fairways and greens as possible to give myself the most birdie chances. I will also try to stay calm and focused. The most important is to give myself chances and enjoy the moment. Every hole is a new birdies opportunity and I look forward too many more tomorrow.”
Italy’s Edoardo Giletta who represents Golf Biella Le Betulle is in a two-way tie for 2nd place at the conclusion of the 1stround at the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open. He shot a 6 under-par, 65 opening round with 3 birdies on his front nine and 2 bogeys, 1 eagle and 3 birdies to conclude his round. When he signed his card, Giletta commented on how “I was really consistent today in my game and didn’t make too many mistakes. I putted very well, I found a good rhythm pretty quickly so it was good to get going and get a good round in.” He went on to add that he ended his round with “two silly bogeys, one was a three-putt and the other was just a bad shot and couldn’t recover but I was able to stay calm and focused on the upcoming holes which I was able to have a birdie-birdie finish.” When asked about his perspective into tomorrow, he explained: “I will try to stay as calm as possible and play shot by shot and hole by hole without getting too far ahead of myself. I’m pretty confident in my game especially after today’s round. Now I will go and do a light practice to keep the feel going.”
Lars Keunen from Netherland concluded his first round at the 2023 Croara Alps Open with a bogey-free 6 under-par, 65 to be the second player in the two-way tie for 2nd place. He is 26 years old and represents The Dutch Golf Club. He currently is in 8th place in the Order of Merit rank and has been consistently near the top of the leaderboards in the majority of this seasons event. After another great bogey-free round, Keunen commented, “My round was very solid. I didn’t have to make too many putts for par and gave myself a lot of birdie chances.” When enquired about his perspective for the week, “I will try to keep doing the same things and play one shot at a time. I think I just have to stay patient with my game and trust that I’m working on the right things and that results are coming.” This is the first time that Croara Country Club hosts an Alps Tour event and Keunen found “the course is very nice but I believe to play well, you have to hit some good tee-shots and must be able to shape the ball a little.”
There is a 5-way tie for 4th place at 5-under par that includes: Swiss Luca Galliano, Spain’s Quim Vidal, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto and France’s Benjamin Kedochim.
