The 3rd edition of the 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand gets underway this week.
Aravell, June 25th, 2024- This week, the Alps Tour heads to the Northeastern area of Spain to compete in the 3rd edition of the 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand. The tournament will be played from June 27th to 29th at the beautiful Aravell Golf & Country Club, located near Aravell, Lleida, Spain.
This year will be the 3rd edition of the tournament, which was created to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the host golf club.
A Qualifying Tournament took place at Aravell Golf & Country Club on Monday, June 24th. The top 20 players qualified for this week’s tournament.
This week, two Best Ball Aggregate to Par pro-ams will be disputed. The opening pro-am will take place on Wednesday, June 16th, with approximately 25 teams participating, and the closing pro-am will be played on Sunday, June 30th, with an estimated 25 teams. During the closing pro-am, the winner of the 3rd edition of the 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand will participate.
The majority of this season’s winners except for Spain’s Jose Antonio Sintes Navarro (am), winner of the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open, Austria’s Maximilian Steinlechner winner of the 2024 Gösser Open, and Antoine Auboin from France, winner of the 2024 Lacanau Alps Open, will be competing for the 3rd edition of the 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand title.All the players currently in the top 10 of the Order of Merit rank will be competing except for Maximilian Steinlechner, who is currently in 10th place.
Among the players competing this week, Spain’s Juan Postigo will be present just like in last year’s edition. He reached the 3rd place in the World Rankings for Golfers with Disabilities and has captured numerous prestigious titles in his career, including the European Championship for Golfers with Disability in 2021 and Abu Dhabi in 2023.
Spain’s Alvaro Velasco is also in the field this week. He is a veteran professional player who competed on the European Tour, as well as a winner on the Challenge Tour.
There are 21 different nationalities represented among the expected 144 players scheduled to compete in Northern Spain.
The 144 players in the field will compete for an overall prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand winner will walk away with €5,800.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The players are competing to earn a spot in the top 5 Order of Merit rank which at the end of the season, will give them access to the 2025 Challenge Tour.
The 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand will be a 54-hole stroke-play event where a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 players and ties. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner.

The Course
Located only 15 km from the Andorra Principality and 5 km from La Seu d’Urgell, Aravell Golf & Country Club is situated in Aravell, Leida, Spain. It is an 18-hole course designed by two-times Masters Champion, José María Olazábal. The golf course will be played as a par 71, 6155 meters.
Aravell Golf & Country Club is a compact and fun layout course. Its narrow fairways, relatively small greens, and spacious rough make it challenging for players. The course is in a large valley, 700 meters above sea level, and it has beautiful views of the Pyrenees and the Cadí mountains.

Aravell, July 1st 2023- Italy’s Manfredi Manica comes from behind to win his 1st professional tournament by 1 stroke, the 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand. In 2nd place, with a three-day score of 14 under-par, Ireland’s Paul McBride. In third place at 12 under-par, Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue and there is a three-way tie for 4th place at 9 under-par which includes: Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli, Spanish amateur Joseba Torres and France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy.
The final round of the 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand being played at gorgeous Aravell Golf & Country Club began at 8:40 this morning under mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. This was the 2nd edition of the event, which was created last year to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the host golf course.
Italy’s Manfredi Manica captures his 1st professional win at the 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand by 1 stroke. He shot a bogey-free final round of 5 under-par, 66 with 4 birdies in his last 6 hole for a three-day total at 15 under-par. He is 27 years old, turned professional at the end of 2021 and currently represents Golf Nazionale. After he sealed his 1st win, Manica was very emotional: “Today is a very emotional day, especially my back nine. I believe the key was to stay patient. I struggled with my putting on the first few holes but hit some great shots. Paul was playing great and I didn’t think I had a chance. On the 15thhole when I saw Paul struggled I managed to birdie and started to believe I had a chance. I went on to birdie 16 and 17 and tried to par 18th and see what happened.” When asked about what this win means to him, he added: “This obviously means the world to me. It’s a short season so every tournament is important this season and after this win the rest will be even more important as I now want to be in the top 5 at the end of the season.”
Paul McBride from Ireland concluded the tournament in 2nd place, only 1 stroke from the title. He was close to the top of the leaderboard all week and was in the lead after yesterday’s 2nd round. He shot a 2 under-par 69 today with 1 double bogey, 2 bogeys and 6 birdies for a three-day total of 14 under-par. He is 27 years old and represents The Island Golf Club.The tournament ends with Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue in 3rd place with a three-day score of 12 under-par. In a three-way tie for 4th place at 9 under-par: Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli, Spanish amateur Joseba Torres and France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy.After the 10th event of the season, Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele keeps his lead in the Alps Tour Order of Merit Rank. In 2nd place Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney and England’s Jack Floydd rounds out the top 3 spots. This week’s tournament winner moved into 11th place in the standings.Final Round

The Alps Tour heads back to Spain for the 2nd edition of the 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand.
This year will be the 2nd edition of the event, which was created last year to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the host golf course.
There will be two pro-am played this week: the opening pro-am which will be played on Wednesday 28th June with approximately 25 teams participating, and the closing pro-am that will be played on Sunday 2nd July with an estimated 25 teams. During the closing pro-am, the winner of the 2nd 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand will be participating.
Last year’s inaugural winner was France’s Tom Vaillant, who captured the win with a total score of 22 under-par, while he was still an amateur player. He went on to grab one of the five coveted Challenge Tour Cards which were given out at the end of the past season, and has now become a Challenge Tour player.
The Field
All of this season previous winners except for Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele, who captured his 3rd title of the current season at the 2023 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or earning a Challenge Tour card for the remainder of the season, will be competing for the 2nd edition of the Aravell Golf Open by Creand title.
Netherland’s Lars Keunen, winner of the most recent Alps Tour tournament and currently 3rd in the Order of Merit, will be in the field this week and looking to capture his 2nd win of the season.
All of the players who are currently in the top 10 of the Order of Merit rank will be competing except for the current leader, Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele.
Spain’s Quim Vidal, winner of the 2023 Red Sea Little Venice Open and currently 5th in the standings will be competing as the highest Spanish player in the field.

France’s Tom Vaillant wins back-to-back weeks.
Aravell, June 18th 2022– Tom Vaillant wins the first edition of the 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà with an outstanding 6 shots margin and a three-day score of 22 under-par. Eemil Alajarvi concluded his tournament in 2nd place with a total score of 16 under-par. Tied for 3rd place, you could find Vince Van Veen and Daniel Berna Manzanares, round 1 & 2 at 15 under-par.
The players had another beautiful summer day with perfect scoring conditions and a very hot temperature that reached near 40* for the final round at Aravell Golf & Country Club near Lleida, Spain. Play began at 8:00 am and the leaders group teed off at 9:28 am.
Winner Quotes-
French amateur, Tom Vaillant wins back-to-back weeks on the Alps Tour schedule. He won last week at the 2022 Open de la Mirabelle d’Or after a sudden-death playoff, and won this week by an outstanding 6 shots margin. He concluded with a three-day score of 22 under-par which included a bogey-free 8 under-par final round. He managed to remain bogey-free the entire week! During the three tournament rounds, he had 20 birdies and 1 eagle. Vaillant has become the new Order of Merit Leader. After his victory, he proudly commented: “I’m playing really solid. Everything went really well today especially towards the end of the round, when the majority of the putts dropped. I knew I had a few shots lead heading into 18 but I wanted to play smart. Two wins in a row, confirms all of the hard work I’m doing with my staff and family so it’s great.” When asked about his amateur status, Tom responded: “I’m definitely remaining amateur as of right now because I have some goals I want to achieve with the French National Team this year. I’ll probably turn pro at the end of this year.”
Eemil Alajarvi, who has been all week near the top of the leaderboard, concluded his tournament in 2nd place with a three-day score of 16 under-par. He had one of the highlights of the round today, with a hole-in-one on the par 3 9th hole. “It was a good week, I am very happy. My golf was very good all week. I will be competing next week and I’m looking forward to it. I want to improve my rank in the coming weeks and see what happens.”
There was a two-way tied for 3rd place at 15 under-par that included, Netherland’s Vince Van Veen and Spain’s Daniel Berna Manzanares. Gary Hurley who was in 4th place entering the final round, concluded his event in 5th place, 8 shots back of the win. France’s Julien Sale, amateur shot a final round of 7 under-par to move into 6th place.
Arthur Ameil-Planchin and Eemil Alajarvi had the highlight of the day by both making a hole in one during today’s final round. Arthur made a hole in one on the par 3, 12th hole and Eemil made a hole in one on the par 3, 9th hole.
Tom Vaillant is the new Alps Tour Order of Merit Leader. Koen Kouwenaar has moved into 2nd place and Italy’s Gregorio De Leo remains in 3rd place.
Final Round –
Tom Vaillant of the inaugural 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà, earned 6,525 Order of Merit points. As, Tom is an amateur player, the winners check of €5,800 was earned by Eemil Alajarvi.

Daniel Berna Manzanares and Tom Vaillant co-lead after Round 2 at the Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà.
Aravell, June 17th 2022– Spain’s Daniel Berna Manzanares and France’s Tom Vaillant are co-leading at the 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà with a 14 under-par at the conclusion of round 2. Eemil Alajarvi is just one shot back of the pair with a two-day total of 13 under-par. In 4th place, Ireland’s Gary Hurley with a total score of 11 under par. Vince Van Veen and Manuel Morugan are tied for 5th place at 10 under-par, only 4 shots back of the lead at the end of today’s round.
Another beautiful summer day with very hot temperatures welcomed players for the second round at Aravell Golf & Country Club near Lleida, Spain. Round 1 resumed at 7:30 this morning due to yesterday’s delays. Once the first round was concluded, Spain’s Daniel Berna Manzanares lead the field with a course record, 10 under-par 61. He held a 1 stroke advantage over Eemil Alajarvi who shot a 9 under-par 62 and a 2 strokes advantage over amateur, Tom Vaillant who shot an 8 under-par 63.
Round 2 Player Quotes-
Daniel Berna Manzanares, who was the first-round leader, shot a 4 under-par in round 2, for a two-day total of 14 under-par and is co-leading entering the final round. He turned professional in 2015 and has been an Alps Tour player since. After his round, Daniel commented, “I really like the design of this golf course, the par 3 are difficult and the par 5 are very fun to play. I think my strategy is what has helped me the most so far this week. I’m leaving myself a lot of shots between 120 and 160 which I really like.” When asked about his strategy heading into the final round, tied for the lead, he responded, “Tomorrow I want to enjoy it like I enjoyed it today and if I have some luck and win it will be even better, it’s been a good week so far and I’m happy.”
Tom Vaillant, last week’s winner, is co-leading after two rounds with a total score of 14 under-par. In round 2, he shot a bogey-free 6 under-par round. When Tom finished today’s round, he was pleased with his game even if he didn’t play as well as yesterday, “game was great, not as good as yesterday but still very solid. The course played slightly differently today due to the wind but I kept my same strategy and it definitely worked. Tomorrow I want to approach it the same as every other day, do my best, give 100% and never give up and see what happens.”
Manuel Morugan, winner of the 2022 Abruzzo Alps Open, shot the lowest round of the day with an 8 under-par 63. With today’s round, Manuel is tied for 5th place and 4 shots back of the lead. Manuel was very pleased with his golf game so far this week: “I played well both days. Today I just made a lot more putts because I played identical both days. Today I also tried to focus more on playing a good golf game compared to being focused on the results. It was a perfect day with perfect conditions to shot a good round of golf.” Manuel’s win came from 3 shots back so he knows what it’s like being in this position, “I am just going to focus on hitting the best shots I can hit and play my best golf. If I am able to do that, I know I will have a chance tomorrow.”
Final Round –
The final round of the inaugural 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà, will begin at 8:00 am from hole 1 and 10.
A total of 50 players including 7 amateurs made the cut which was set at -1 (141). The final group will tee off at 9:28 am from the 1st hole. The winner of the inaugural 2022 Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà, will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

The tour heads to Spain for the inaugural Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà.
Aravell, June 14th 2022– The Alps Tour heads to Northeastern part of Spain this week for the inaugural Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà. The tournament will be played from Thursday 16th June until Saturday 18th June at Aravell Golf & Country Club near Aravell, Lleida, Spain.
There will be two pro-am played this week: the opening pro-am will be played on Wednesday 15th June with an estimated 25 teams participating and the closing pro-am will be played on Sunday 19th June with an estimated 25 teams including the winner of the inaugural event.
This is the first time that Aravell Golf & Country Club will host a European professional golf event. This tournament was also created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the golf course.

All of this season previous winners except for Markus Brier, winner of the 30th Gösser Open, will be competing for the inaugural Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà title. French amateur, Tom Vaillant winner of the last Alps Tour tournament and currently 2nd in the Order of Merit, will be in the field this week. In addition, Koen Kouwenaar who is currently the highest-ranked player in the Order of Merit, will also be competing alongside the top 10 players in the rank except for Conor Purcell.

A new tournament and a new venue added to the 2022 Alps Tour Schedule
Aravell Golf will host the first edition of the Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà. From June 16th to 18th, 144 players will gather on the José María Olazábal’s design to compete for a total prize money of €40,000 and 45,000 points valid for the 2022 Order of Merit. Two pro ams are also scheduled, for the opening (June 15th) and the closing (June 19th) of the tournament week.
Aravell (Spain), May 17th, 2022 – The Alps Tour is proud to announce the addition of a new tournament to its 2022 schedule. It will be a first, both for the Alps Tour and for the Aravell Golf & Country Club in Aravell, Lleida, Spain, thanks to the promoter and former European Tour player and multiple winner José Manuel Lara, who had the idea of starting this new collaboration and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the course in style.
The Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà will take place from Thursday 16th June until Saturday 18th June, with a field of 144 players – 94 Alps Tour players, and 50 National players and invites – and a purse of €40,000. Even more importantly, the 11th tournament of the season, with six more to go before the Grand Final, will distribute 45,000 points for the Order of Merit. There will be two pro-ams for this tournament, the opening pro-am, on Wednesday 15th June with approximately 23-25 teams and the closing pro-am on Sunday 19th June with around 23-25 teams where the tournament winner will be playing.

Aravell Golf & Country Club, only 13km from Andorra Principality, is an 18-hole course designed in 1987 by José María Olazábal, a two-time Augusta Masters Champion. The course will be played as a 6,155 meters, Par 71. It is located in a large valley, 700 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Pyrenees and with iconic views of the Cadi Mountain. Aravell Golf & Country Club is designed to be a compact and fun layout course with narrow fairways, relatively small greens and spacious rough making it a challenging course for the players especially due to the river and lake that cross the course.
The Aravell Golf Open by Crèdit Andorrà will be played thanks to the full support of Credit Andorrà.
