Andrea Romano wins the Open de Roissy – Grand Prix PGA France and earns HotelPlanner Tour promotion

France, May 30th, 2026 – Once again, Andrea Romano proved he has been the standout player on the Alps Tour this season. Starting the final round two shots behind the lead, the Italian produced a flawless 65 (-7) to capture his third title of the season after victories at the Red Sea Little Venice Open and the New Giza Open.

This latest success also secures him direct promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour, awarded to any player who reaches three victories in a single Alps Tour season.

England’s Mason Essam mounted a remarkable charge from further back on the leaderboard. Despite a bogey on the 12th, the Englishman carded an outstanding 63 (-9) but ultimately finished one stroke short of Romano.

Overnight leader Louis Darthenay was unable to match Romano’s pace on Sunday and eventually shared third place alongside fellow Frenchmen Paul Franquet and Théo Boulet.

With this victory, Romano earns €7,900 and significantly extends his lead at the top of the Order of Merit, ahead of France’s Maxime Legros. The remainder of the top five is made up of Robert Moran (3rd), Pablo Alperi Lopez (4th) and Mario Galiano Aguilar (5th).

The race for qualification to the 2026 Hulencourt Alps Tour Grand Final and promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour will resume from Friday, June 5th, at Golf de La Grange aux Ormes for the 2026 Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or.

I thought seven under might give me a chance, so to shoot two better and still come up one short is tough, but I’m really happy with second place. My game has been close all season, and this week I managed to put everything together. The golf course was great, the organisers did a fantastic job, and now I’m looking forward to a couple of days off before heading to Metz.”

France’s Louis Darthenay takes slim lead into final round of the Open de Roissy – Grand Prix PGA France

France, May 29th, 2026 – After carding a superb 65 (-7) in the morning despite a lone bogey, Italy’s Alessandro Nodari looked set to lead heading into the final round of the Open de Roissy – Grand Prix PGA France. But his -11 total was eventually surpassed in the closing moments of the day.

Late in the afternoon, Frenchman Louis Darthenay moved into the lead thanks to a matching 65 (-7). Coming from the national field, Darthenay already experienced contention on the Alps Tour when he challenged for victory at the 2024 Lacanau Alps Open.

France’s Dorian Fournier sits in third place, two shots behind the leader, alongside Italy’s Andrea Romano. The current Order of Merit leader produced a sensational 62 (-10), setting the lowest score in the history of Golf International de Roissy.

For tomorrow’s final round, play will begin at 8:40 a.m. from both the 1st and 10th tees. At the conclusion of the third round, the winner will receive €7,900 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. In the event of a tie, a playoff will determine the champion.

Louis Darthenay: “Another really solid round with only one bogey today. I managed the easier holes better than yesterday, and my driving was strong all day — long and straight. Alessandro Nodari: “I had a great start with birdie, eagle, and another birdie on the par five. Conditions were a bit easier this morning, so I just focused on staying shot by shot. England’s Mason Essam takes early lead in Lacanau

France, May 21st, 2026 – Playing in sunny morning conditions, Mason Essam delivered a flawless opening round on the Ardilouse course at UGOLF Lacanau to take the early lead at the Lacanau Alps Open.

The Englishman carded eight birdies and no bogeys for an impressive 64 (-8) to open the tournament in style.

Currently 29th in the Order of Merit, Essam holds a two-shot advantage over an Italian trio made up of Luca Cavalli, Mattia Comotti, and current Order of Merit leader Andrea Romano.

For Round 2, play will begin at 7:45 a.m. from both the 1st and 10th tees. At the conclusion of the second round, a cut will be made to the top 40 professionals and ties, who will advance to the final round (including all amateurs within the cut).

Spain’s Alejandro Rodriguez Andreu triumphs in dramatic finish at the 34th Gösser Open

Austria, May 16th, 2026 – The final round of the 34th Gösser Open delivered plenty of drama at Golf Club Erzherzog Johann, where Spain’s Alejandro Rodriguez Andreu emerged victorious after a thrilling battle to claim his first Alps Tour title.

Competing this week on an invitation from the Andorran Golf Federation, Rodriguez Andreu finished at -15 after an excellent closing 66 (-6), capped by a superb five-metre birdie putt on the 18th to secure the win.

France’s Augustin Holé mounted a strong charge with a brilliant 66 (-6) of his own, highlighted by an eagle on the opening hole, but ultimately finished one shot short. Italy’s Filippo Grossi and Andrea Romano also shared second place at -14.

Frenchmen Maxime Legros and Hermès Ferchaud shared fifth place, two strokes behind the winner. Overnight leader and Austrian amateur Jakob Lotschak eventually finished in seventh place.

With this victory, Rodriguez Andreu earns €7,200 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. Andrea Romano returns to the top of the Order of Merit standings, overtaking Maxime Legros, while Augustin Holé climbs to sixth place thanks to his third podium finish of the season.

The players will return to action on Thursday, May 21st, in France for the 2026 Lacanau Alps Open.

Alejandro Rodriguez Andreu: “I knew I had to go low today. Funny enough, before the round I told Maxi, my caddie, that we probably needed to get to 15-under, and it ended up being the right number. I just tried to stay patient, stay aggressive when needed, and avoid silly mistakes. Winning like this feels amazing.

This victory means so much to me, personally and professionally. Two months ago, I was actually thinking about quitting golf. I talked about it with my family, my parents and friends. To come here on an invitation and end up winning is incredibly special.

I only asked about the leaderboard on the 13th tee and found out I was two behind. After birdies on 13 and 14, I decided not to know anything else until later. Walking down the 18th fairway, Maxi told me that a birdie would give me the lead. I hit it to 20 feet and managed to hole the putt. That was pretty fun.

This win changes my plans completely. I was only planning to play the Alps Tour events in Spain and Andorra, but now I’ll probably play the full season. Having a schedule and knowing I’m in the tournaments gives me a real purpose moving forward.”

Augustin Holé: “I definitely gave myself a chance. I got off to a perfect start with an eagle on the first and kept pushing from there. From around holes 5 to 13 I had a really good stretch — something like six under par. So overall it was a really great day and a really great tournament. My only regret is the finish of the first round on 17 and 18. Other than that, I don’t have much to blame myself for. Even today’s bogeys came from poor golf shots, and that happens. It confirms that I’ve had a very good start to the season.

Now I’ll keep knocking on the door and wait for my moment to win. If I keep playing like this and continue preparing well, there’s no reason it won’t eventually go my way. I just need to stay patient.

Austria’s Jakob Lotschak eyes breakthrough win on home soil

Austria, May 15th, 2026 – Austria’s Jakob Lotschak has put himself in a strong position to claim the first title of his career after moving into the lead at the Gösser Open.

Playing in conditions similar to those of the opening round, the 21-year-old amateur carded an impressive 67 (-5) despite a double bogey on the 10th. Competing in his first tournament of the season, Lotschak showed composure throughout the day to take control heading into Saturday’s final round.

However, nothing is decided yet at Golf Club Erzherzog Johann, a course known for producing low scores. Italy’s Filippo Grossi sits just one shot behind after a solid 68 (-4).

Jakob Lotschak: “I did everything the same as on any tournament day — had a good warm-up, something good to eat, and got off to a smooth start with a birdie on the first. After that, I kept giving myself chances, and it turned into a really wonderful day. We had a few rain showers here and there, but overall everything went really well.

Playing an event like this in my home country is amazing. Having a home event and playing in front of local crowds is really special, and I hope lots of people come out tomorrow and enjoy the day. Italy’s Andrea Romano claims back-to-back victory at New Giza

Egypt, March 1st, 2026 – Andrea Romano sits alone at the start of this season. Leading after 36 holes, the Italian signed a third consecutive 67 (-5) to claim back-to-back victories at the New Giza Open after his win at Red Sea Little Venice Open.

After a front nine of two bogeys and three birdies, the 25-year-old produced a flawless back nine, making four birdies between holes 13 and 17 to pull away from the field.

Ireland’s Robert Moran and Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar both carded impressive 66s (-6) on Sunday to finish tied for second, two shots behind. Notably, Galiano Aguilar records his third consecutive podium in as many events played in Egypt this season.

France’s Benjamin Kedochim and Alexis Leray, alongside Spain’s Pablo Alperi and Eduard Rousaud, share fourth place to round out the top five.

Having surged back into contention with a remarkable 62 (-10) in the second round, equalling the course record, the 25-year-old sets the tone for a strong start to his season.

Andrea Romano : “I made a solid start, hitting good shots over the first five holes, making two birdies and holing a chip on the fourth. My putting felt really good, especially after yesterday’s round of -10, which I believe was key to winning this week. After yesterday’s round, I just told myself to keep playing the same way, and it paid off. The closing holes were a bit tricky. I made a mistake off the tee on 15 and ended up making bogey, but I bounced back with a great birdie on 17. On the 18th tee, I knew it was very tight at the top of the leaderboard, so I decided to stay aggressive.

I’m really happy with this victory. I’ve realised that when my short game is in good shape, I can put myself in contention very often. Before coming here, I felt okay but not at my best. I had been watching videos of my swing and knew it was good, but I wasn’t feeling it on the course. My long game didn’t feel strong enough to win. But day after day, I became more comfortable and confident with my game.”

Nicolas Calvet : “I feel a bit frustrated, but overall it’s still a good day. I’m quite pleased with my game, especially going bogey-free again despite the windy conditions. I managed to stay disciplined with my routines and stick to my game plan for all 18 holes, which was my main objective. I just tried to remain patient and not get carried away. I did that well, but unfortunately I didn’t putt very well from two to four meters, which cost me a few shots — especially on holes 12, 16 and 18.

It’s still a strong result to start the season, and I’ll definitely take it. There are a lot of positives to build on. My ball-striking wasn’t exceptional in terms of feeling, but I kept the ball in the right areas, giving myself chances. Even with some average shots, I stayed in play and managed things well. All in all, it’s a better result than the sensations suggested, and a solid foundation for what’s ahead.”

Andrea Romano Secures His Second Victory at 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera

La Gomera, July 5^th, 2025- Italy’s Andrea Romano captured the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera title, marking his second professional victory in less than a month with an impressive total score of 19 under-par. Romano finished two strokes clear of a tie for second place between Spain’s Javier Barcos and Alvaro Quiros. France’s Paul Margolis secured fourth place with a three-day total of 15 under par. A four-way tie for fifth place at 13 under par included Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela, Jerry Ji of the Netherlands, France’s Theo Brizard, and Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero.

The Final Round of the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera played at the beautiful Tecina Golf on the Island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands, Spain began at 8:30 a.m. local time, from both the 1^st and 10^th hole. The final pairing began their last round at 9:46 a.m. local time from the 1^st tee. Thanks to favorable weather conditions, players were able to challenge the final round with numerous promising scoring opportunities.

This was the 5^th edition of the 2025 Fred.Olsen Alps De La Gomera after its previous three editions, which were hosted in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Italy’s Andrea Romano, 25, who secured his first professional title earlier this year at the 2025 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar, claimed his second win in less than one month at this week’s 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera.Taking the lead after the second round, Romano closed out the final round with an outstanding 8 under-par 63 to end the tournament with a three-day total of 19 under-par. He got off to a blazing start with three consecutive birdies from holes 1 to 3, followed by steady pars on holes 4 and 5. Romano then birdied hole 6, eagled the par-5 7^th hole, and capped the front nine with back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9 to post a remarkable 28. On the back nine, after a series of pars, he faced a bogey on the 14^th hole but bounced back with a crucial birdie on the 17^th, sealing his victory with a two-stroke margin. Romano also participated in last week’s DP World Tour Italian Open, further highlighting his rapid rise in professional golf. “I played really, really well today, especially on the front nine where I shot 8 under par without missing a single putt,” he said. Reflecting on today’s competition, Romano added, “It was a true honor for me to compete alongside Alvaro Quiros in the final round. He is a great player. I’ve known him since I was 17, when I had the chance to play a practice round with him at the Verdura Open on the DP World Tour. To be able to battle with him for the win today is something I will remember for a while.” Looking back at his recent form, Romano explained, “Playing the Italian Open last week helped me a lot because I played well, I finished, if I’m not mistaken, in the top 30, and it gave me more confidence competing out here. I know I can perform well; it’s a matter of confidence and abilities. If I can play well and have good results on the DP World Tour, it means I can do the same out here.” Concluding on a personal note, he said, “This win is for my family and mainly my mom, who has been there every step of the way. I will now enjoy it and refocus for next week.”

Spain’s Javier Barcos and Alvaro Quiros finished the week in a two-way tie for second place with a three-day total of 17 under par. In the final round, Barcos posted an impressive 8 under-par 63, while Quiros carded a 6 under-par 65.

Following the 2025 Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera, Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa retains his position as the Order of Merit leader with 20,631.38 points. Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela moves up to second place, accumulating 20,248.13 points, while fellow Spaniard Javier Barcos is in third place with 19,465.34 points. This week’s winner, Italy’s Andrea Romano, climbs eight spots to 5^th place, now with 16,950.06 points in the rankings.
