Final Round Player Quotes

Spain’s Jose Luis Adarraga Gomez, who was in the lead since the second round, shot a final round of 2 under-par 70 at Golf Nazionale to win the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage with a three-day score of 10 under-par. He began his round with a birdie on hole 2 and then continued his round, making 3 bogeys from holes 4 to 6. Afterward, he made 4 more birdies on the remaining holes to end his final round. After his win, Adarraga Gomez commented: “It was a very good tournament for me even if I had a tough start to the round making a few bogeys in a row. For the rest of the round, I focused and played some good golf. I made a very good birdie on the 18th hole to finish the round.” He added that he found: “Both of the golf courses we played this week were in very good conditions, and the greens were in excellent conditions for the entire tournament also.” Adarraga Gomez plans on: “playing the entire 2025 season on the Alps Tour to try and finish in the top 5 at the end of the year to earn access to the 2025 Challenge Tour.”

Victor Garcia Broto, 27, from Spain, concludes the 2024 Alps Tour Q-School Final Stage in 2nd place with a three-day score of 9 under-par. He shot a first-round score of level par at Golf Nazionale during Round 1 and a great 5 under-par, 67 during yesterday’s round 2 at Terre dei Consoli Golf Club. Today, he shot a final round of 4 under-par, 68 that included 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. Broto is a past winner on the Alps Tour and earned his pass for the Challenge Tour in 2021, thanks to the results he earned. After he concluded the qualifier, Broto commented: “It’s been a good week. We had very different conditions throughout the three days. We played two different courses this week, so it’s always challenging because the greens and the conditions aren’t always the same for the two courses. So, I’m very happy with the results, I’ve been playing well lately but this week especially since yesterday’s round 2. It’s a relief, I mean, it’s been a tough season for me this year so to end it with good feelings it’s always nice. I’m overall very happy and already looking forward to the next season.”

Rome, November 13th, 2024 – France’s Victor Veyret and Polish amateur Nikolas Tyminski co-lead with a 6 under-par, 66 at the end of the 1st round at the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage. There is a 3-way tie for 3rd place with a 1st round score of 5 under-par with: France’s Adrien Bonnet and Italian amateurs Lucas Fallotico and Matteo Cristoni.

A beautiful sunny morning in Northern Rome, welcomed the 156 players who began their quest to earn one of the 2025 Alps Tour Playing Cards that is up for grabs at this week’s event. For the first two rounds, the players are split between Golf Nazionale (Par 72) and Terre dei Consoli Golf Club (Par 72) and will play one round on each course.  After Round 2, a cut will be made, and the players who qualify for the final round will compete in the last 18 holes at Golf Nazionale.

Round 1 Player Quotes

Victor Veyret, 27, from France, co-leads after Round 1 at the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, which began today in Rome. He shot an opening round at Terre dei Consoli Golf Club of 6 under-par, 66 with 7 birdies and 1 bogey.  Once Veyret concluded his round, he said, “Overall, pretty happy with today on the course. We did a good job with my caddie, mainly thanks to a good round with my wedges and putter. I like both courses we are playing this week, to be honest. They are quite different from what we are used to playing during the season, but it’s a good test of golf.” Veyret plans on “staying in my own bubble and enjoy the tournament” over the next two rounds.

Polish amateur Nikolas Tyminski, 18, co-leads alongside Veyret after the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage opening roundHe began his tournament with a fabulous bogey-free round of 6 under-par,66 at Terre dei Consoli Golf Club, making 3 birdies and 3 bogeys on each 9 holes. After he signed for his 6 under-par round, he commented, “It’s a very solid start to the 3-day golf marathon this week. I played solid tee to green and, fortunately, made a few putts around the turn to rack up some birdies. I’m most satisfied today with how I was committed to my shots the entire day. Pretty much all the shots I hit today were under full commitment, which is very important for me.” Tyminski is competing as an amateur, and “as of right now, I don’t have any plans to turn professional, but who knows what the future holds! My main focus is to get some status for next year’s Alps Tour season and enjoy this week in Italy eating my favorite food.”

France’s Adrien Bonnet, 25, finds himself in a 3-way tie for 3rd place after the 1st round of the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage. He shot an opening round of 5 under-par, 67, making 6 birdies and 1 bogey at Terre dei Consoli Golf Club. After his round, Bonnet explained, “The greens are quite different between the two courses this week, but I like the firmness of the greens at Golf Nazionale and the quickness of the greens here in Terre de Consoli Golf Club. Overall, today was good. I got a good start to the tournament and am pleased with how it went.” Now, “I will take my mind away from golf because I stayed calm during the round, and now, I want to think about other things.” Obviously, Bonnet added, like the rest of the players in the field this week, the goal is to “finish as high as possible in the leaderboard to try and earn the best playing category I can for next season.”

Lucas Fallotico (am), 22, from Italy, is also in the 3-way tie for 3rd place after his opening round at Golf Nazionale. He made 7 birdies and 2 bogeys throughout his day. When he finished his round, he commented: “Today was good. I didn’t play great when I began my round, but I recovered after the bogeys I made. Mainly, I was able to recover due to the good tee shots I was able to hit and some clutch putts I holed, which allowed me to get to -5.” Fallotico is still an amateur, and he’s a member of the Italian National Team, he “knows Golf Nazionale well. However, it’s a course I always struggled over the years to put a good score together, so with today’s round, putting a good round under par is gratifying and puts me in a good position for the rest of the week.”  He added, “I know Golf Nazionale well, but there are quite some differences between the two golf courses. Terre dei Consoli Golf Course is more open, and the wind is more of a factor. They are two good tests of golf, but for the moment, I’ll say I enjoyed this one more as I played better, but we will see tomorrow.” Fallotico is competing as an amateur but “is planning on turning professional soon. I’m training well, and I’m reaching my goals. This tournament is also a test for me to see if I can turn pro, so if this tournament goes well, there is a good chance I’ll turn pro.”

Alongside Bonnet and Fallotico in the three-way tie for 3rd place at 5 under-par, there is Italian amateur Matteo Cristoni, who competed at Terre dei Consoli Golf Club today.

After the 54 holes, the top 35 players and ties ranked according to score will be eligible to receive Category 6 membership for the 2025 Alps Tour Season.

The remainder of the players who made the cut, and finished between the 36th and 65th positions will be eligible to receive Category 8 membership for next year’s season. The remaining players who conclude the tournament between the 66th and 156th positions will be eligible for membership in Category 9 for the 2025 Alps Tour Season

Round 2

For tomorrow’s Round 2, players will alternate golf courses between Golf Nazionale and Terre dei Consoli Golf Club. Play will begin again at 8:00 a.m. from each golf course’s 1st and 10th hole.

After tomorrow’s round, a cut will be made to the top 65 players and ties who will compete in the tournament’s final round, which will be played at Golf Nazionale.

5th November 2024 | Alps Tour Golf

Thursday marks the beginning of the 2024 Qualifying School Stage 1 tournaments.

November 5th 2024- The 20th edition of the Alps Tour Qualifying School will take place in Italy, just like the past four seasons. The 1st Stage events will be played on November 7th and 8th at three distinct golf clubs: Golf Club Le FontiGolf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca, and Conero Golf Club. The Final Stage of the 2024 Qualifying School will take place at Golf Nazionale and Terre dei Consoli Golf Club in Northern Rome from November 13th – 15th.

In the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School fields, there are 138 amateur players and 37 players under 20 years old. A total of 35 different nations, including: Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Lithuania, Lebanon, New Zealand, Poland, and the United States of America, will be represented throughout the 2024 Qualifying School.

For the second year in a row, we received nearly 300 applications from players who wanted to participate in the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School. Applications were open to any male professional golfer who belongs to a recognized PGA or Golf Federation, as well as male amateur players with a handicap of 2.0 or better.

In the three 1st Stage events, there will be 203 players competing over the three different venues. The tournaments will be played over 36 holes with no cut, and the top-ranked players will gain access to the Final Stage event, where the top-ranked players will earn a full Alps Tour card for the 2025 season.

There will be 156 players in the field at the Final Stage of the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School, where 75 players have already been exempt.

The exempt players from the 1st stage and automatically eligible to participate in the Final Stage are: all players ranked in the 2024 Alps Tour Order of Merit after the 2024 Croara Alps Open who weren’t in the field at the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT – The Male Tools & Co., all of the past winners of the Alps Tour Order of Meritfrom 2012 to 2021, the winners of the Alps Tour Qualifying School in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the leading 10 European Amateur Players in the World Amateur Golf Rankings as of October 14th 2024, players who competed at the 2023 World Amateur Team Championship and/or the 2024 European Boys/Men Team Championships and/or the 2023 Walker Cup and players being members of the European Tour for the 2024 season until category 20 and members of the Challenge Tour for the 2024 season until category 16.

The Golf Courses

The three First Stages of this year’s Qualifying School will be disputed over three golf courses throughout Italy:  Golf Club Le FontiGolf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca, and Conero Golf Club.

The first venue that has been constant on our schedule as a host for the Stage 1 Qualifying School event is in Northern Italy, approximately 30km southeast of Bologna. The tournament will unfold at Golf Club Le Fonti in Castel San Pietro Terme. The course is home to 18 holes of golf and will be set as a par 71, 6411 meters. Rolling hills and a typical Emilia-Romagna landscape surround Golf Club Le Fonti. It has previously hosted Alps Tour events, Ladies European Tour events, and Qualifying Schools. The players will face multiple water hazards, making it a tough challenge.

Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca is the second course hosting Stage 1 events this year. It is a 6078-meter par 72 course in the Province of Parma, about 100km from Bologna and just 10 minutes from Parma in the Emilia-Romagna Region. It was founded in 1985 on the edge of the Boschi di Carrega nature park. The parkland golf course unfolds amongst oak and acacia forests, beautiful ponds, and slightly hilly terrain with unforgettable views.

This year, Conero Golf Club is the third golf course hosting Stage 1 Qualifying School. It opened in 1992 and was developed within Conero Park. It is a 5868-meter par 71 course set in almost seventy hectares, with gorse, arbutus, oak, tamarisk, and cherry trees envelop the golf course.  The terrain is slightly soft and offers a wide variety of situations and landscapes: on the first nine holes, play will be influenced by the presence of a lake, which comes into play. On the back nine, the terrain changes its characteristics, and beautiful views of the rural surrounding landscapes will be the backdrop of the course. Conero Golf Club is also home to an executive 5 holes course in the middle of the complex.

The entire Alps Tour family would like to wish the best of luck to all the participants competing at the three different venues, and we are eager to follow the next rising golf stars #risinggolfstars!

Rome, November 10th 2022Luca Galliano from Switzerland leads with a two-day total of 9 under-par at the end of the 2nd round of the 2022 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage. In 2nd place France’s Louis Bellan with a total score of 7 under-par. There is a 5-way tie for 3rd place at 6 under-par: Paul Murphy, Theo Boulet (am), Lars Van der Vight (am), Giovanni Tadiotto and Robin Dawson.

A warmer but overcast day was the backdrop of today’s second round in Northern Rome for the 2022 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage. The 156 players are competing to earn their 2023 Alps Tour playing card on two different courses: Golf Nazionale (Par 72) and Olgiata Golf Club (Par 73). Compared to yesterday’s round, today players switched between the two courses.

Players Quotes-

Luca Galliano from Switzerland has a 2 strokes lead over France’s Louis Bellan heading into tomorrow’s final round. He shot a 5 under-par 67 today at Golf Nazionale for a two-day total of 9 under-par. Today Luca was pleased as he had a tough start to his second round but was able to turn it around midway. After he signed his card, he commented: “Today was a good round, definitely a positive round. I had a rough start being +3 after 5 holes and wasn’t playing. After that I just told myself let’s try it, I hit a good shot into the 7th hole for eagle and after that my round began. I played solid, just trying to hit every fairway, every green and make some putts.” Luca finished his round strong with an eagle on the par 5 18th hole: “I risked it off the tee on the 18th hole hitting driver and got rewarded with another good shot and made about a 20ft putt for a very good eagle to finish my round off.”

France’s Louis Bellan is in 2nd place with a two-day total of 7 under-par. Today, he shot a 3 under-par 70 at Olgiata Golf Club with 4 birdies and a single bogey. After today’s round, Louis commented: “My game was pretty solid. My driving was on point today and the putts were dropping on the front nine holes. I prefer Olgiata Golf Club out of the two courses, but it’s great to be able to play on two amazing courses.”

Ireland’s Paul Murphy who yesterday was in a tie for 3rd place at 4 under-par, concluded his 2nd round with a two-day total of 6 under-par. Today, he competed at Golf Nazionale. He is in a share for 3rd place heading into tomorrow’s final round.  Paul was very pleased with his tournament so far but is tremendously grateful to his friend Harry McGeary that flew in to caddy for him during the first 2 rounds this week.  After his round, Paul happily commented: “I went out there today with the intention like nothing happened yesterday and pretty much stuck to my game plan and routine but most importantly believed in myself. Every time I got down I knew I was able to get birdies along the way as I was very confident in myself so it didn’t really bug me.” When asked what he thought about starting his tournament at Olgiata GC, Paul responded: “Yesterday for me personally I had an easier start by starting on the back nine. I knew I wanted to start by going low and then the round took over itself. Luckily, I continued the momentum from yesterday’s round into the round today.” Ahead of tomorrow’s final round where 2023 Alps Tour playing cards are at stake, he said: “Tomorrow I will focus again on the same thing like today by thinking nothing happened today. Take one shot at a time and believe in myself. I put the hard work to use so far so now I just have to let it happen.”

In a 5-way tie for 3rd place at 6 under-par: Ireland’s Paul Murphy, France’s Theo Boulet (am), Netherland’sLars Van der Vight (am), Belgium’s Giovanni Tadiotto and Ireland’s Robin Dawson. An Italian 3-way tie for 8th place at 5 under-par: Adalberto Montini, Niccoló Agugiaro (am) and Giovanni Manzoni (am).

A total of 65 players (42 pros and 23 amateurs) made the cut which was set at +2 (147).
