Gianmaria Rean Trinchero wins his 2nd Alps Tour title at the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open!
Tabarka, April 27th, 2024—Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero wins the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open with a total score of 10 under par. Ireland’s Alex Maguire finishes in second place, only 1 stroke back. In third place is France’s Benjamin Kedochim, with a three-day score of 8 under par. An Alps Tour winner during the 2022 season, England’s Ben Schmidtfinishes the tournament with a total score of 7 under par.
The final round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open, played at the breathtaking La Cigale Tabarka Golf in Tabarka began this morning from the 1st hole at 7:50 am local time and the leaders teed off at 11:00 am local time. The final day was disputed under sunny skies, a warm temperature, and windy conditions.
Final Round Player Quotes Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, 28, wins his second Alps Tour title at the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open. He was tied for 5th place after yesterday’s round 2, and today, he shot a 3 under-par 69 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 10 under-par. During yesterday’s round 2, Rean Trinchero shot a 9 under-par, 63 and now holds the new course record of La Cigale Tabarka Golf which was previously held by Jon Robson during the 1995 Challenge Tour event with a score of 7 under-par. In today’s final round, he made 2 birdies on the opening front nine holes and then 2 more birdies on the back nine before ending his round with a bogey on the 18th hole. He has been playing professional golf since 2020 and earned his 1st Alps Tour title at the 2023 Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera. After his win, Rean Trinchero’s first reaction were, “I’m very happy about this victory. Today was tough out there, the wind was blowing strong from the 1st hole, the conditions were way tougher than yesterday which I played in the morning with no wind. I’m very happy about the entire week, my game was in great conditions. I hit my shots all very well, I found the fairways, found the greens, and hit my putts super well. I want to thank the Alps Tour, the hotel La Cigale, and especially my team and sponsors. I want to thank Camilla, my fiancée and putting coach. Ireland’s Alex Maguire, 23, who is competing in his 1st season as a professional player as he turned pro at the beginning of 2024, shot a final round of 4 under-par, 68 to conclude the tournament in 2nd place at 9 under-par. He made 3 birdies on his opening front nine and then a bogey on the 10th and 11th hole before making 4 birdies in a row from hole 12 to hole 15 and closing his round with a bogey on the par 3, 17th hole.
Benjamin Kedochim, 29, from France, concluded the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open in 3rd place with a total score of 8 under-par. He made 4 birdies and 1 bogey for a 3 under-par, 69 in his final round. Kedochim has earned several top 5 finishes in his career but is looking to capture his 1st title on the Alps Tour. He has been playing well since the beginning of the 2024 season and wants to continue to work hard to hopefully earn a trophy in the upcoming events.
After the first four events of the season, the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has Edoardo R Lipparelli in the lead with 13,005 points. Aymeric Laussot in 2nd place with 11,441.25 points and Gianmaria Rean Trinchero and Jose Antonio Sintes Navarro (am) tied for 3rd place with 6,912 points.
Final Round
Gianmaria Rean Trinchero winner of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open, earned the winner’s check of €6,525.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The next event on the schedule is set for May 8th-10th in Italy. Players will compete for the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON title at Golf Club La Pinetina near Como.

Manfredi Manica maintains his lead at the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open.
Tabarka, April 26th, 2024—Italy’s Manfredi Manica remains in the lead after Round 2 of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Openwith a two-day score of 10 under par. Only one shot back is Luca Galliano from Switzerland. There is a two-way tie for third place at 8 under par that includes Italy’s Adalberto Montini and Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela.
The highlight of the day belongs to Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, who shot a 9-under-par 63 and now holds the new course record at La Cigale Tabarka Golf.
The second round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open, played at the beautiful La Cigale Tabarka Golf in Tabarka, Tunisia, began this morning from the 1st and 10th hole at 7:00 am local time. Unlike yesterday, round 2 began as an overcast day with slightly chillier temperatures. However, as the day went on, the sun came out and the temperatures warmed up.The 2024 Tunisian Golf Open marks the first time that La Cigale Tabarka Golf is hosting an Alps Tour tournament, and this is the first time since 2016, that the Tunisian Golf Open is being disputed.Round 2 Player Quotes
Italy’s Manfredi Manica, 28, maintains his lead after round 2 of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open. He shot a second round of 3 under-par, 69 with 2 birdies and 1 bogey on the front nine and 2 more birdies on the back nine for a two-day total of 10 under-par. Manica won the 2023 Aravell Golf Open by Creand and is looking to capture his 2nd win on the Alps Tour as he has been playing consistently well since the beginning of the season. After his round, he commented on how: “today I played very well again, especially my iron shots into the greens. I struggled a bit more with my putting today, the short-range putts but overall, I’m pretty happy as I’m 10 under-par after two rounds which is good. We will see what happens tomorrow.” He added that, “it would be great to grab a win in the early stages of the season that’s for sure, but we will see what happens tomorrow.” Manica also explained how, “today I found the conditions to be slightly easier as there was less wind compared to yesterday.”
Luca Galliano,38, from Switzerland, followed his 4 under-par, 68 opening round with a 5 under-par, 67 today for a two-day total of 9 under-par and finds himself in 2nd place ahead of tomorrow’s final round. He made 8 birdies, 1 bogey, and 1 double bogey during today’s round. Galliano has been performing well since the beginning of the season and is looking to capture the trophy tomorrow. After his disappointing finish with a double bogey on the 18th hole, he commented: “I saw the scores this morning and saw they were low, so I knew I had to come out and play well. I’m pleased that I was able to do that as I made a lot of birdies today. I was playing smart golf today as I made the birdies where I knew I had to make birdies, and the rest, I tried to be patient and smart. I was a bit unlucky on the 10th hole, where I was unable to reach the green with my 2nd shot, and then I had a good comeback on the next hole with a birdie. I had a strong finish with a birdie on 16 and 17 and knew I was in the lead at that point, and I felt it. On the 18th hole I missed my tee shot and was lucky to find my ball, however I made some mistake but pleased that I made a good putt to save the double bogey. I’m in contention and very happy about so we will see what happens tomorrow.”
Adalberto Montini, 24, from Italy, who was tied for 3rd place after yesterday’s 1st round, remains tied for 3rd place with a two-day total of 8 under-par. He shot a 3 under-par, 69 in today’s round where he made 3 birdies on his front nine holes and 2 birdies and 2 bogeys on the back nine. Montini is looking to capture his 1st Alps Tour title this weekend and after his round, he mentioned: “I played well from tee to green today, the course was in fantastic shape, it was a bit windy on the front nine especially the holes next to the coast. I’m very pleased even though I three-putted the last hole, so I’m slightly annoyed with that, but overall, I’m looking forward to tomorrow, and hopefully, I can get a good round together.”
Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela, 27, is the 2nd player in the 2-way tie for 3rd place with a two-day total of 8 under-par. He made 5 birdies and 2 bogeys on the day. Hernandez Cabezuela has earned various good finishes over the years but is looking to break through and earn his 1st win on the Alps Tour.
The winner of the 2023 Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera, Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, 28, fromItaly, moves into a 3-way tie for 5th place after the 2nd round of the 2024 Tunisian Alps Open due to a fantastic second-round score. He was tied for 49th place at 2 over-par after the 1st round of the tournament but thanks to a fantastic 9 under-par, 63 in round 2 has moved close to the top of the leaderboard with a two-day total of 7 under-par. He made 4 birdies on the front nine holes and 6 on the back nine, 4 of which were in a row, before ending his round with a bogey on the 18th hole. With today’s incredible round, Rean Trinchero now holds the new course record of La Cigale Tabarka Golf which was previously held by Jon Robson during the 1995 Challenge Tour event with a score of 7 under-par. After his round, ReanTrinchero was very pleased with his game: “today’s round was really good, my tee shots were really good, my irons were dialed in, and my putting was excellent. I only missed one on the 17th hole, but the rest were perfect. The main difference in my game between yesterday and today was that yesterday, with 2 of my tee shots, I lost a ball and made a 6 on the 8th hole and an 8 on the 18th hole. Today, I just missed one, and that’s the only bogey I made.” He added that he’s super happy with the position he’s in but knows that: “Tomorrow will be tough. Manfredi Manica is a good player, and I know I need to hit fairways, hit greens, and make the putts.”
Estonia’s Sander Aadusaar and France’s Sebastien Gandon are in a three-way tie for fifth place alongside Rean Trinchero, with a two-day total of 7 under par.
Final Round
The final round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open will begin at 7:50 am local time from the 1st hole. The leaders will tee off at 11:00 am local time from the 1st hole.
A total of 42 players made the cut which was set at 146 (+2).

Manfredi Manica leads by 1 after Round 1 at the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open.
The first round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open, played at the beautiful La Cigale Tabarka Golf in Tabarka, Tunisia, began this morning from holes 1 and 10. The round 1 tee times were scheduled to start at 7:00 am local time. However, they had a 30-minute delay due to course maintenance. Therefore, the 1st round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open officially began at 7:30 am local time from the 1st and 10th hole. Players had to face some heavy rain during yesterday’s pro-am. However, today, they were able to begin the 1st round of the tournament with some pleasant weather conditions, allowing them to take advantage of good scoring opportunities.This event marks the first time that La Cigale Tabarka Golf is hosting an Alps Tour tournament, and this is the first time since 2016, that the Tunisian Golf Open is being disputed.

He made 2 eagles, 4 birdies, and 1 bogey during his opening round. The 2 eagles he made were in his last 4 holes of the day, where one was a hole out from the fairway on the 8th hole. Manica has been playing very solid since the beginning of the season and is looking to capture his 2ndwin on the Alps Tour. At the conclusion of his opening round, he explained on how, “Today was a nice day, especially towards the end of the round where I made 2 eagles in the last few holes, it was a good start to the tournament. I’m continuing my good stretch of golf because also, in the tournaments in Egypt, I began the season playing well and giving myself chances.” Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Manica plans on: “keep doing the same things as I’m doing, maybe even a bit better. It would be great to get a win early in the season, but we will see.” He was also very impressed by the host venue this week, “La Cigale Golf is a great course, it’s my first time but I’m surprised. The three holes by the coast are fantastic.”
France’s Benjamin Kedochim, 29, is in 2nd place after the first round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open with a 6 under-par, 66. He made 7 birdies and 1 single bogey throughout his day. Kedochim has earned several top 5 finishes in his career but is looking to capture his 1st title on the Alps Tour. He has been playing well since the beginning of the 2024 season, and after his round, he explained: “We are in a beautiful place, and I love being here in Tabarka. We are in an amazing spot, I like to surf too so today every time I wasn’t playing golf, I was looking at the sea and the waves and it kept my head off the golf course and that helped me to play well today. I hit almost every fairway and green. I only missed 2 greens today and the remaining holes I gave myself tons of opportunities.”
Daniel Hebenstreit, 26, from Austria, is in a 4-way way tie for 3rd place at the conclusion of the 1st round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open alongside Italy’s Adalberto Montini, Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela and Ireland’s Robert Moran. He shot a 5 under-par, 67 round today, making 1 eagle, 4 birdies, and 1 bogey. After his round, Hebenstreitcommented on how he found: “It’s a beautiful course, La Cigale Tabarka Golf, it’s down by the sea. I was fortunate enough to play in the morning, which made it a bit easier as there was hardly any wind.” He went on to add on how he plans to: “keep it low off the tee the next two days and make sure I keep it in play but most importantly get the putter hot.”
Italy’s Adalberto Montini, 24, is the second player in the 4-way tie for 3rd place after round 1 of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open with a total score of 5 under-par, 67. During today’s round, he made 6 birdies and 1 single bogey. After he signed for his 67, Montini pointed out how: “It’s my first time in Tunisia, and this golf course is fantastic. It’s a really technical course, and today I’m very happy with my game as you need to hit your ball well from the tee, and I was able to do that with my 2-iron. I also putted really well today, so I think my key for the next few days will be to keep my ball in play off the tees by placing it in the right spots.” Montini also commented on how “the last few weeks I really prepared myself, I changed my coach, so I made a lot of technical changes, but I’m very pleased with what I’ve seen so far and I’m looking forward to competing again tomorrow.”
Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela, 27, from Spain, is the 3rd player in the 4-way tie for 3rd place at 5 under-par, 67 after the 1st round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open. In today’s opening round, he began with a bogey on the 1st hole and then went on to make 8 birdies and 2 more bogeys to conclude the day. Hernandez Cabezuela has earned various good finishes over the years but is looking to break through and earn his 1st win on the Alps Tour. He explained how today: “I had a slow start making a bogey on the 1st, but I’ve been playing well recently, so I knew the birdies opportunities were close, so I just stayed patient. I was very solid off the tee, and with my putting, I must say. My irons haven’t been that great, unfortunately, and I made a few bogeys with my wedges from the fairway today, which I must say is a bit annoying, but overall, I’m very happy.” Hernandez Cabezuela added that today: “the wind picked up slightly during my round, and it’s making it a bit more interesting now. Hopefully I have more birdies to come over the next few days and remain on the top of the leaderboard.”
Alongside Hebenstreit, Montini, and Hernandez Cabezuela, with a first-round score of 5 under par, 67, is Ireland’s Robert Moran, 24. During his opening round, he made 1 eagle, 6 birdies, and 3 bogeys.
The highlight of the day belongs to Italy’s Riccardo Bregoli, who made an incredible Hole-In-One on the 130-meter, par-3 17th hole with his 46° wedge.

The Alps Tour returns to action this week in Tunisia.
On April 24th, with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. local time, the traditional Alps Tour tour scramble pro-am, will take place.
This event will mark the first time that La Cigale Tabarka Golf will host an Alps Tour tournament and the first time since 2016, that the Tunisian Golf Open will be disputed.
The Tunisian Golf Open will be played for the next 3 years as our Chief Executive & Operations Director, Ms. Estelle Richard, signed a partnership agreement with Mr. Hassine Helmi, General Director of the Tunisian National Tourism Office (ONTT).
The Field
Two of this season’s three winners will be present among the players competing this week for the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open title: France’s Aymeric Laussot, winner of the 2024 Ein Bay Open, and Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli, winner of the 2024 New Giza Open.
The majority of the players who are currently in the top 10 of the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank will be in the field this week, with the exception of number 3, Spain’s Jose Antonio Sintes Navarro (am), number 4, England’s Harry Goddard, and number 10, England’s Arron Edwards-Hill.
Alongside this season’s previous winners and the top-ranked players in the Order of Merit, there will be France’s Augustin Holé, Italy’s Luca Cianchetti, Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, Manfredi Manica, and Spain’s Jose Manuel Pardo Benitez who are all winners on the Alps Tour during the 2023 season. Among the players scheduled to compete, you can also find Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, who captured multiple wins on the Alps Tour over the years, as well as earning the 2021 Alps Tour Order of Merit title, which allowed him to gain status on the Challenge Tour.
In the approximate 125-player field this week, there are 19 worldwide countries represented, among which: Andorra, Austria, Cameroun, Czech Republic, England, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Switzerland, Tunisia, United States of America, and Venezuela. The host country, Tunisia, will be well represented during this week’s tournament, with 11 players competing for the title.
The players will compete for an overall prize fund of €45,000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The 2024 Tunisian Golf Open winner will walk away with €6,525.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The 2024 Tunisian Golf Open will be a 54-hole stroke-play event where a cut will be made after 36 holes. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner.

The 2024 Tunisian Golf Open, will be hosted at the beautiful La Cigale Tabarka Golf, a masterpiece by Californian architect Ronald Fream located in Tabarka, Tunisia.
