379

France’s Thomas Fournier signed for 64, score of the day to grab the trophy of Valle d’Aosta Open, He won with -9 total with a two stroke advantage. Jesus Legarrea and Niccolo Quintarreli tied for second place. Italian Quintarreli thanks to this second runner up position climbed on 7th place of the Alps Tour ranking.

The playing conditions were kind of a nightmare today in Cervinia. It was cold, 5 to 7 degrees celcius and the wind was very strong all day long with snow flakes. As all players teed off in shot gun, they all have to face Mother Nature. Bravely and with professionnal behaviour they tried to do their best. Only four players were able to beat the par today. The winner, Thomas Fournier shown strength and pugnacity. Fournier’s last victory was 5 years back in Gösser Open and with this win, he enters the top 5 of the ranking with brilliant second place.

England’s Jack Senior, who is no better than when playing agressive, got back his leadership of the ranking. He scored 66, finished 4th by his own and ejected Brendan Mc Carroll from first place to third. Scot Ross Kellett lost 2 places and Irishman Gareth Shaw slept to 5th place. Despite good performance today, 5th place, France’s Jérôme Lando-Casanova is now out of the Top 5 of the Alps Tour ranking.
