Alps Tour heads to Italy for the inaugural Villa Paradiso Alps Open

Italy, April 7th, 2026 – For the first time in its history, the Alps Tour will visit Villa Paradiso Golf Club, located in Cornate d’Adda, for the inaugural edition of the Villa Paradiso Alps Open, taking place from April 9th to 11th, 2026.

In a symbolic alignment, both the Alps Tour and the host venue celebrate their 25th anniversary this year, with a special program of festivities planned throughout the tournament week.

This event also marks the first European stop of the 2026 season and benefits from the recent increase in prize funds. A minimum prize fund of €48,000 will be on offer, along with 45,000 Order of Merit points, including a minimum of €6,900 and 6,525 points awarded to the winner.

The competition will be a 54-hole stroke-play event, with a cut made after 36 holes to the top 40 professional players and ties, including all amateurs within the cut. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner of the inaugural edition.

The Field

Following his back-to-back victories in Egypt, Italy’s Andrea Romano will be one of the main attractions in what promises to be a strong home event. A third win would secure him immediate promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour.

Several players with experience on higher-tier tours will also be in the field, including Italy’s Lorenzo Scalise and Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue, winner of last year’s Regione Lazio Grand Final.

Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar and Ireland’s Robert Moran, currently second and third in the Order of Merit respectively, will be looking to challenge for the title, alongside Ireland’s Sam Murphy, winner of the season-opening event.

The field will consist of 132 players, including 18 amateurs.

The Course

Nestled within the stunning Parco Naturale dell’Adda, Villa Paradiso Golf Club spans 80 hectares of breathtaking scenery between the Adda River and a wooded hillside, just 20 minutes from Milan and Bergamo. A true haven of peace, it offers a rare balance between sport and nature—both unique and easily accessible.

Designed by architect Franco Piras, the course opened in 2001. Since November 2019, the club has been managed by the Colombo Group (CO.GE.FIN.), with the ambition of developing a leading golf destination in Lombardy.

Modern, technical, and demanding, the layout remains enjoyable for all golfers thanks to its intelligent design. Discreetly set within a protected natural area, the 18-hole course unfolds as you descend toward the clubhouse. Its championship-level fairways and greens are complemented by five strategically placed lakes, enhancing both the challenge and beauty of the layout.

Measuring 6,583 meters, the course features five tee options per hole, ensuring a rewarding experience for players of every level. The club lies within Adda Park, established in 1983 and spanning over 6,600 hectares of nature and heritage, including hydraulic works by Leonardo da Vinci and the UNESCO-listed village of Crespi d’Adda.
