Tecina Golf Welcomes Back the 6th edition of the Fred. Olsen Alps de La Gomera

La Gomera, June 30th, 2026- The Alps Tour heads back to the Canary Islands for the 14th tournament of the season, the 2026 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera. The tournament will be played at the fascinating Tecina Golf from July 2nd– 4th 2026.

The 2026 tournament will mark the sixth edition of the event, further strengthening its place as one of the Alps Tour’s most established and anticipated stops. Following successful editions in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2025, it has consistently attracted strong fields and produced memorable champions. The tournament was not held in 2024 due to renovations at the host venue, Hotel Jardín Tecina.

Tecina Golf has long served as a showcase for emerging talent, with several former competitors going on to achieve success at the highest levels of professional golf. The venue has hosted 20 professional tournaments to date, including eight HotelPlanner Tour events between 2009 and 2016. Among its distinguished list of champions is major winner Brooks Koepka, who claimed victory at Tecina Golf in 2013 during the early stages of his professional career.

The 2026 Fred. Olsen Alps De La Gomera will be contested over 54-holes of stroke-play, with a cut after 36 holes to the top 40 professionals and ties, including all amateurs within the cut. In the event of a tie at the conclusion of the final round, the tournament winner will be decided by a sudden-death play-off.

The players competing this week will contend a minimum prize fund of € 46,000 and 45,000 Order of Merit points.

On July 1st, the traditional Tour Scramble, Par is your Friend will occur.

As the 2026 season progresses, players continue to compete for a place inside the top five of the Order of Merit, which at season’s end will secure promotion to the 2027 HotelPlanner Tour. Furthermore, the leading six players (including amateurs) on the Alps Tour Order of Merit at a cut-off date determined by the DP World Tour will be exempt from Stage 1 of the 2026 DP World Tour Qualifying School.

The Course

Tecina Golf, one of the top three courses in the Canary Islands, is a par 71 course measuring 6,343 meters from the white tees. Designed by renowned British architect Donald Steel, it is located on the hill of Lomada de Tecina on La Gomera, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve since 2012. The 18-hole course offers a unique design, beginning with a climb to the first tee and unfolding entirely downhill with every hole facing the Atlantic Ocean. Steel described it as “the most exciting and challenging project I have ever designed and built.” Surrounded by sweeping ocean views and the majestic Mount Teide in the distance, Tecina Golf offers a rare blend of challenge and natural beauty.

The course is immersed in native Canary Islands flora, with fairways and greens bordered by vibrant vegetation including tabaiba shrubs, spurge cactus, and fruit-bearing trees such as banana, mango, and avocado. This lush environment not only defines the visual identity of the course but also fills the air with the distinct fragrances of its surroundings. Located in Playa Santiago, San Sebastián de La Gomera, Tecina Golf offers a multi-sensory experience in a tranquil setting, combining pristine golf with the silence, nature, and mild climate that make La Gomera an unforgettable destination.
