Augustin Holé wins the 2023 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by AURALIS Limitless Lighting
Cavaso del Tomba, October 20th 2023 – After 1 hole of sudden-death play-off, France’s Augustin Holé wins the 2023 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by AURALIS Limitless Lighting with a birdie on the 1st playoff hole. Holé, alongside, Spain’s Quim Vidal concluded their final round at Asolo Golf Club tied for the lead, therefore, took part in a 2-way sudden-death playoff thanks to their final score of 10 under-par. Tied for 3rd place at 9 under-par Italy’s Elia Dallanegra, Ireland’s Paul McBride and France’s Benjamin Kedochim.
Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney wins the 2023 Alps Tour Order of Merit and secures himself one of the five sought-after 2024 Challenge Tour cards that were up for grabs. Alongside Mullarney, Spain’s Quim Vidal, Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele, France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy and England’s Jack Floydd earned the remaining 4 cards that will give them access to the 2024 Challenge Tour.
The winner’s trophy that was handed to Augustin Holé was designed and created by artist-designer Roberta Verteramo.
The final round of the 2023 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by AURALIS Limitless Lighting began at 9:00 am local time from both the 1st and 10th hole under overcast skies with some occasional light rain showers at Asolo Golf Club in Cavaso del Tomba, Italy.
Augustin Holé from France wins the 2023 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by AURALIS Limitless Lighting after an incredible birdie putt from about 18 meters on the 1st playoff hole against Spain’s Quim Vidal. He earned 9,500 Order of Merit points and the winner’s check of €10,000. He followed his opening round of 9 under-par, with a 4 under-par and a 3 over-par to end the tournament at 10 under-par. After his victory, he was very emotional: “I couldn’t have wished for anything better than this. I fought hard today and throughout the entire event. I was looking for this victory for over a year. It’s been a goal of mine to win an Alps Tour event for over a year and to be able to do it today, I’m speechless. I lost my dad a couple of years back, and this one is definitely for him and for my family around me. I’m so grateful to have the people that I have around me, my staff, my friends so this one is for them and for myself. I give all of them credit but also myself. I now have Stage 2 of Q-School and hopefully, I will be able to repeat the same thing there but we will see how it goes. Now I will enjoy it and take a few days off.”
Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney wins the 2023 Alps Tour Order of Merit rank and earns one of the coveted 2024 Challenge Tourcards that was up for grabs. Throughout the season, he won two events, one in Austria and one in France. After Mullarney secured his Order of Merit title he commented: “Absolutely this was one of my goals from the beginning of the year. As much as it is great being on the Alps Tour, tons of nice people, I’m glad to be off the Alps Tour and move on to the next step. I was happy with my golf this year, I feel ready to compete there. I was able to play a few Challenge Tour events before and I was able to step up my game so now I’m ready.” When asked about his experience playing on the Alps Tour he added: “The standard of the Alps Tour is extremely high. Buenavista del Norte, June 21st 2023- Netherland’s Lars Keunen comes from behind to win by 4 strokes his 2nd Alps Tourtitle, the co-sanctioned event with the Pro Golf Tour, the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. He eagled the 18th hole of the day to shoot a 9 under-par bogey-free final round and tie the course record. In 2nd place, 4 strokes back, the season opener winner, England’s Jack Floydd. Only 1 stroke back, Ireland’s Paul Murphy with a three-day score of 17 under-par. To round out the top 4 spots, France’s Benjamin Kedochim in 4th place with a three-day total of 16 under-par.
The final round of the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf, co-sanctioned event with the Pro Golf Tour being played at the beautiful Buenavista Golf near Buenavista del Norte, Tenerife, Spain started this morning under sunny skies, a warm temperature and windy conditions. The players had the opportunity to compete under optimal scoring and weather conditions throughout the tournament.

Twentysix years old, Netherland’s Lars Keunen who represents The Dutch Golf Club, captured his 2nd Alps Tour title at the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open co-sanctioned event with a three-day score of 22 under-par. He wins by 4 strokes after a bogey-free 9 under-par, 62 final round tying the tournament course record. The record was previously established by Peter Nygren and tied during the 1st round of the tournament by England’s Jack Floydd and in the 2nd round by Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero. During today’s round he made 1 bogey, 6 birdies and 2 eagles, which one occurred on the 18thhole to seal the victory. Keunen has been close to the top of the leaderboards in the majority of the events this season and is happy to have captured his 2nd win. After he sealed his 2nd win, Keunen commented: “I kept playing good golf and this week I finally was able to capture the win. It’s been a really nice week, a really nice course, beautiful views and it was easy to enjoy it. I’m definitely very happy to have captured the trophy.” When asked about his plans, he added: “I’m going to keep focusing on the Alps Tour events and then maybe play a few Pro Tour events in August when we don’t have any Alps Tour events. Right now, I’m really happy with the way I played. I stayed patient throughout the past few weeks where I was close and wasn’t able to get it done but now I’m glad it payed off! It feels really good.”

Jack Floydd from England, winner of the season opener 2023 Ein Bay Open in Egypt concluded the tournament in 2nd place, 4 strokes from the title. After being in the lead at the end of the 1st round, he was tied for 3rd place at 13 under-par after yesterday’s second round. He shot a bogey-free 5 under-par,66 round today with 5 birdies. He is 26 years old and represents Haywards Heath Golf Club. When he finished, he was pleased of his “bogey-free final round today especially as the wind was blowing stronger than the first two rounds. My game is in a good spot even though I’m always trying to get better with my coaches and there are definitely a few things I will take away with me from this week moving forward. However, I’m overall happy with the week for sure.”
Ireland’s Paul Murphy concluded the tournament in 3rd place with a total score of 17 under-par. He is 25 years old and represents Rosslare Golf Links. He shot a bogey-free final round with 4 birdies and 1 eagle on the par 5, 5th hole. After his bogey-free final round, Murphy was proud of how he “played flawless in the final round, proud of myself for that. Few more putts would have been nice but I gave it my all. Starting the tournament with a 63, I knew and believed I’d be there come the end of the last day. All I had to do was put up a score and see what happened. Congratulations to Lars! It wasn’t an easy day. To win in style with a 62 is something else. I really enjoyed the overall experience of the tournament. Each week I have the opportunity to be the best I can be as a golfer. The coastal scenery was pretty spectacular this week also.”
France’s Benjamin Kedochim, who was tied for 14th place after round 2, had a bogey-free final round of 8 under-par,63 for a three-day total of 16 under-par. He concluded the tournament in 4th place. He made 8 birdies in his final round. Kedochim is 28 years old and currently represents Biarritz Le Phare. His best finish so far this season is a 2nd place at last week’s event at the Alps de Andalucía. After his bogey-free final round, he feels like “there wasn’t anything different from the past two rounds other than I got a few lucky bounces on 2 holes, I got a good bounce on 16 which then I was able to birdie and on 18 even if I didn’t make birdie. I stayed really focused, I made a clutch putt on the 4th hole and then took advantage on the 5thhole and 9th hole, two easy par 5.” He believes that he “didn’t play great but the putts dropped and I was able to score so it was a good day overall.” Kedochim added that his biggest takeaway from the past two weeks is that “I believe sometimes you only need to wait and your time will come. Do your best, don’t complain and stay in the present. You also must enjoy playing golf. I’ve never enjoyed playing like I currently am and the results are coming.”
After the 9th event of the season, Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele keeps the Alps Tour Order of Merit lead with Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney in 2nd place and this week’s winner, Netherland’s Lars Keunen who jumped into 3rd place. England’s Jack Floydd is in 4th place and Spain’s Quim Vidal closes out the top 5 spots.

It began as another beautiful day in the Canary Islands with sunny skies and warm temperatures for the 2nd round of the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. The tournament is currently being played in the Canary Islands at Buenavista Golf near Buenavista del Norte, Tenerife, Spain. The 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open is co-sanctioned with the Pro Golf Tour, therefor the field is split between players belonging to both tours.
The second- round action began at 8:00 am local time this morning from both the 1st and 10th hole.
Round 2 Player Quotes
Gianmaria Rean Trinchero from Italy shot a bogey-free 9 under-par, 62 round today for a two-day total of 15 under-par and holds a one stroke lead ahead of tomorrow’s final round at the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. He turned 28 years old yesterday and represents Golf Club Monticello. With his 9 under-par, 62 in today’s round, Rean Trinchero ties the tournament course record which was previously set by Peter Nygren. When he signed for his incredible bogey-free round, he was very satisfied: “I barely made any mistakes today which is very satisfying. I never had the opportunity to make bogey which is something that doesn’t happen every day. I’m very proud of my round today, I can tell you that the main difference is that I was able to clearly see more lines on the greens today so maybe some putts I missed yesterday, today I was able to make them. The par 5s are relatively short therefor you must take advantage and today I was able to accomplish that making 1 eagle and 3 birdies. I’m very satisfied on how I handled the par 5s but most importantly on how I putted today.” He plans on “hitting every fairway and every green tomorrow and must take advantage of the par 5s. If I can make 5 birdies on the par 5s I’m pretty confidence I’ll have a good chance tomorrow. My caddie today helped me tremendously helping me with the lines and my strategy so part of today’s result is thanks to her.”
Germany’s Christian Braunig who was tied in 3rd place after yesterday’s 1st round, now finds himself only 1 stroke off the lead. He followed his opening-round of 7 under-par, with another 7 under-par in the second round for a two-day total of 14 under-par. During today’s round, he made 1 eagle, 7 birdies and 2 bogeys. He concluded his round an eagle on the par 5, 9thhole, “Today I had a slow start making some crucial up and down on the first few holes. I tried to stay patient and then on my back nine, the course back nine, I hit some very good shots and some putts finally dropped. I finished with an eagle on 9, my 18th which was very satisfying. Tomorrow I want to try and take as much advantage from the par 5 and as many birdies as possible.”

I am happy with my round today and I’m looking forward to having a chance at winning my second event of the season tomorrow. Winning my second event would not change anything. I try to go out each week and give myself a chance to win so I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow.” Floydd added that he believes “tomorrow’s winning score to be -18.”
Lars Keunen from Netherland who was tied for 6th place after the first round, now finds himself in the two-way tie in 2nd place at 13 under-par. He made 4 birdies and 2 bogeys on his front nine and 5 birdies on the back nine for a second round of 7 under-par, 65 and holds a two-day total of 13 under-par. He currently is in 9th place in the Order of Merit ranks and has been constantly near the top of the leaderboards in the majority of the events this season while he looks to capture his 2nd win. Keunen is 26 years old and represents The Dutch Golf Club. After his round, he commented on how special it was to “finish my round with three straight birdies. That was very good. I found the course to be playing pretty similar to yesterday. However, I believe that some pin positions were definitely trickier than in yesterday’s first round.” He went on to add that “Tomorrow I think the winning score will be 20 under-par or better.”
There is 3-way tie for 5th place with a two-day total of 11 under-par with a Finish duo: Alex Hietala and Eemil Alajarvi and Ireland’s Paul Murphy.

Jack Floydd has a 1 stroke lead after Round 1 at the Tenerife Pro Golf Open!
The 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open is a co-sanctioned event with the Pro Golf Tour. The tournament is being played in the Canary Islands at Buenavista Golf near Buenavista del Norte, Tenerife, Spain. Players were able to compete under great weather conditions, as it began as a sunny morning which turned into a mostly sunny day with some light winds and a pleasant temperature.

England’s Jack Floydd, winner of the season opener Alps Tour event in Egypt, concludes his 1st round at the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open with a 1 shot lead heading into the second round. He is 26 years old and turned professional in 2020. Currently, he represents Haywards Heath Golf Club and is playing his 3rd season on tour. Once he concluded his opening round, Floydd commented that today: “I hit the ball great and putted great. It’s my lowest tournament round, so I am very pleased. The par 5s are definitely opportunities on this course. I feel this week definitely favors being longer off the tee compared to other venues we play at so I was happy to take advantage with my driver.” When asked about the quick turn around after the last event the Alps Tour played in Southern Spain, Floydd commented: “there was only a day between the final round last week at Ayamonte and the first round here in Tenerife. I slept a lot, got in the gym, had a decent practice session where I was in contact with my coach and then only played 5 holes of the course, my first 5 from today’s round.” This week “the course is fun to play and has some amazing views so despite the golf, being out there enjoyable.”
Ireland’s Paul Murphy finds himself only 1 stroke off the lead after the opening round of the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. He shot a 1st round of 8 under-par, 63 with 7 birdies, 1 eagle and 1 bogey and finds himself in 2nd place. He is 25 years old and represents Rosslare Golf Links. Post-round, Murphy said:“Today’s round wasn’t much different to my other under-par rounds this season. I’m starting to understand my golf imperfections and learning from my mistakes from each tournament. I’m gaining experience as I go along. All in all, I believed a round like this was coming and it was only a matter of time.”
Christian Braunig from Germany is tied in 3rd place after his 1st round at the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. He shot a 1stround of 7 under-par, 64 that included 2 bogeys and 9 birdies. He turned professional in 2016. After his round, Braunig was happy that he was able to “take advantage of the 5 par 5s that are on the course as I was able to birdie all of them. I really did play solid today. Everything in my long game was really good and I will try to keep it up in the next two rounds.” He also added that he “really enjoys this course because it offers a lot of opportunities for birdies even though I find the greens a but funky so it could be a real challenge sometimes.”
France’s 18 years old, Oihan Guillamoundeguy concluded his 1st round at the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open with a 7 under-par, 65 and finds himself tied for 3rd place. He had a bogey-free round with 5 birdies and 1 eagle. He is a past winner on the Alps Tour having won the 2022 Red Sea Little Venice Open as an amateur, however, he turned professional in December 2022 and is now competing in his first season as a professional player. After his bogey-free round, Guillamoundeguy was very pleased, “Today was a great round, I played really solid especially my driving and iron game. I missed some putts but made some great putts like for eagle on the 5th hole. I birdied the tough par 3, 15th hole with a good putt too so I must say everything worked pretty good. I’m ready for another low round tomorrow.”
Inigo Lopez- Pizarro from Spain is the third player in the 3-way tie at 7 under-par after the 1st round of the tournament. During today’s round, he made 1 bogey, 1 eagle and 6 birdies. He represents Club de Golf Val de Rois and currently is 25 years old.
France’s Aubin Lacaze shot an opening round of 6 under-par 65 with 1 bogey and 7 birdies. He heads into the second round of the tournament in a 7-way tie at 6 under-par. After his round, Lacaze commented: “I am very satisfied of what I did today. I made several birdies at the start, which allowed me to stay confident for the rest of the round, and what was rewarding is that I was able to keep my head in the game no matter what was happening.” He also thoroughly “enjoys the golf course the landscape is amazing and it’s a true pleasure to be here. We have to enjoy the atmosphere of being able to play here in Tenerife. I would also like to thank the golf course for the preparation of the course.”
Netherland’s Lars Keunen who is currently 9th in the Order of Merit rank, shot an opening round of 6 under-par 65 with 1 eagle, 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. He’s been close to the top of the leaderboards in the majority of this season events and is looking to capture his 2nd title on the Alps Tour. He heads into round 2 in a 7-way tie for 6th place at 6 under-par. He is 26 years old and represents The Dutch Golf Club. After his 6 under-par round, Keunen explained how “I only saw the front 9 yesterday so starting on 10 this morning the first 9 I played today was the first time I was seeing them. I started well with being 4 under-par after 4 holes and then played okay the rest of the round. For the next 2 rounds I’ll try to give myself chances and take advantage of the short par5’s.”
Italy’s Riccardo Bregoli 25 years old and representing Modena Golf & Country Club turned professional at the beginning of 2022. He is also tied for 6th place at the conclusion of the 1st round of the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open. He shot a 6 under-par, 65 opening round with 5 birdies, 1 bogey and 1 eagle. When he signed his card, Bregoli commented on how today, “I finally played well, it’s finally a round that gave me some confidence. It’s been about 2 months I’ve been struggling but finally a good round under-par gave me some confidence to keep moving forward. Today I putted pretty well also and I definitely think that helped me put a good score together.” Looking ahead to the next two rounds, Bregoli commented: “I want to keep going like today. Obviously, I’ll try to have the same feelings in my game I was able to gather from today’s round and hopefully the putter will keep helping me. I have good expectations for the remainder of the week but don’t want to get too far ahead of myself” When asked about Buenavista Golf, he added: “The course is good, it’s in perfect conditions. The par 5 are definitely birdie holes as they are reachable for me so I plan on keep taking advantage of them. However, the par 3 are very long and tricky so you need to play them smart. The views are spectacular and makes the round really enjoyable.”
Italy’s Jacopo Albertoni is another player in the 7-way tie for 6th place at 6 under-par. During today’s first round, he made 1 eagle, 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. He is 23 years old and represents Golf Nazionale. After his round, Albertoni was pleased on “how I played today tee to green but missed a couple short putts like on the 17th hole. However, I’m overall satisfied with my performance. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep playing like today and drop more putts in the next two rounds. Buenavista Golf is a great course to go low as there are a lot of birdie opportunities but you need to be careful on a few holes. The view is spectacular though!”
Alongside Lacaze, Keunen, Bregoli and Albertoni in the 7-way tie for 4th place: Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero who shot a bogey-free 6 under-par, France’s Victor Veyret who also shot a bogey-free round and Scotland’s Callum Bruce.
Round 2
The second round of the 2023 Tenerife Alps Open will begin again at 8:00 am local time from the 1st and 10th hole. After round 2, a cut will be made to the top 40 players and ties.
The 140 players are competing for a prize fund of €30.000 and 30,000 Order of Merit points.

The Alps Tour and the Pro Golf Tour co-sanctioned event gets underway tomorrow!
A strong field is represented in Tenerife this week.
There are currently 8 of the top 10 players in the Order of Merit rank participating in this week’s field: Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, Spain’s Quim Vidal, England’s Jack Floydd, Italy’s Luca Cianchetti and Andrea Romano, France’s Benjamin Kedochim, Netherland’s Lars Keunen and France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy.
The majority of this season’s previous winners will be competing for the 2023 Tenerife Pro Golf Open title which include: England’s Jack Floydd who captured the season opener event, Spain’s Quim Vidal who won the 2023 Red Sea Little Venice Open, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney winner of the 2023 Gösser Open and Italy’s Luca Cianchetti winner of the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open.
There are 21 different nationalities represented among the 140 players from both tours scheduled to play this week.
They will contend a prize fund of € 30.000 and 30,000 Order of Merit points. The tournament winner will earn €5,000 and 5,000 Order of Merit points. If a player is member of both tours, they will earn Order of Merit points on both ranks.
The format of the event is a 54 holes stroke play where a cut will be made after 36 holes to the top 40 players and ties.

The Course
Buenavista Golf opened in 2003 and is located on the north-western corner of the island of Tenerife. It was designed by Seve Ballesteros, and the course is laid out on cliff tops that overlook the Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded by the Teno mountain range as well as the Atlantic Ocean. Buenavista Golf was recognized as the most spectacular and scenic golf course on the island.
The fairways are generally wide and forgiving but there is thick vegetation and rocks that follow the layout of the course. There are 5 greens that are close to the small cliffs of the rocky coastline with beautiful views of the breaking waves. The water hazards come into play on a number of holes like the 17th hole.
The players will compete on the course that will be set up as a 5948 meters, par 71.

This is the first time that Croara Country Club will host an Alps Tour event. Being a new event on the schedule, it is sure to be an intriguing week where players will be subject to a new course, and its subsequent conditions. At the end of the event, we will have an inaugural winner of this Alps Tour stop with a new tournament score record for this golf course.
The Field
A very strong field is expected this week in Italy for the 7th event of the season.
All of this season previous winners will be competing for the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open title except for Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele who captured 3 titles so far including last week’s event in France.
The following top 10 Order of Merit players are expected to compete: Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, England’s Jack Floydd, Spain’s Quim Vidal, France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy, Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto, Netherland’s Davey Porsius and Lars Keunen, Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue and Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero.
The field will be made up of 144 players representing 16 different nations. The players will be competing for a prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 points. The winner of the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open, will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The tournament will be played as a 54 holes stroke play event, where a cut will be made after 36 holes. The top 40 players and ties will compete during the final round scheduled on June 10th.

The Course
Croara Country Club located in Gazzola near Piacenza, Italy is situated only a few kilometers from Piacenza and about 96 km south of Milan, close to the border between Lombardy Region and Emilia-Romagna Region. The first nine holes were designed by Buratti and opened for play in 1976. While the second nine holes opened for play in 1983 and were designed by Croze and Lo Cascio. It will be played as a 6065 meters par 71 course.
It is located in an undulating area that is affected by the temperate climate of the close Liguria region. The 18 holes that run alongside the Trebbia River are considered a very technical course with relatively narrow fairways bordered by oaks, chestnut trees and locust trees that offers fascinating sceneries.
This is the first time that Croara Country Club will host and Italian Pro Tour event as well as an Alps Tour tournament. Nonetheless, it hosted the 1st Italian Women’s Open in 1987.

Kiet Van der Weele wins his third title at the 20th Open de La Mirabelle d’Or.
It was another warm and beautiful day with sunny skies at Golf Domaine de la Grange aux Ormes. The players were able to compete under optimal scoring and weather conditions. The course has hosted this event since its inaugural year in 2003. However, it officially became part of the Alps Tour schedule in 2005. The final round of the 2023 Open de La Mirabelle d’Orbegan at 9:00 am from hole 1 and 10. The final group teed off at 10:40 am from the 1st hole.
Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele only 22 years old, captured his 3rd win of the season at the 2023 Open de La Mirabelle d’Or in just 6 starts. In addition to winning his 3rd event of the season and the second back-to-back, he guaranteed himself a Challenge Tour category 12 card for the remainder of this season as well as the 2024 season. He previously won the 2023 Alps de Las Castillas and last week’s 2023 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon. After he finished his round, his first reactions were, “It feels like a dream, I always imagined it but do it is another thing. I’m extremely happy! It’s a great feeling to be in this position and to see all the hard work coming out. I’m honestly still speechless and I think I’ll be that way for a while.” When asked how he approached the final round, Van der Weele added: “I knew the course was playing tricky today as the wind was picking up and the pins were tricky and tucked. I knew the other players weren’t going to go very low with the conditions so I knew if I stayed patient and focused on my strategy I couldn’t be to much out of it and I’m very glad it worked.”
Theo Brizard from France, who was leading after round 2, had a final round of 1 over par for a three-day total of 5 under-par. He had a bad start with 4 bogeys in his first 5 holes, nevertheless he managed to turn it around on the back nine to be able to compete in the sudden-death playoff at 5 under-par. Brizard turned professional in 2021 and he represents Golf Bastide de la Salette. After his round, he commented that for “sure my bad start was due to some stress. I hit poor shots and after a really nice tee shot on 4 I made a very bad decision. I knew something good could have happened on the back nine so tried to stay positive. I made a good up and down on 10 and a close shot on 11 and a nice 6 iron into the 12th hole. After that it was a very good fight with Jack until the end. We both played well and holed good putts.” He added that he is, “taking a lot of positives from this week. I’m getting closer and I managed to stay in it which I’m happy. I know I’ll have more opportunities and I’m already focused on next week, hungry for a trophy!”
France’s Nicolas Aparicio who was close to the top of the leaderboard all week, shot a 3 under-par round 67 today with 6 birdies and 3 bogeys for a three-day total of 5 under-par. He had a strong finish with back-to-back birdies on the last two holes. Aparicio turned pro in 2016 and represents Golf du Medoc.
England’s Jack Floydd, who captured his first professional win at the 2023 Ein Bay Open, was one of the 4 players that took part in the sudden-death playoff for the title. He shot a final round of Even Par for a three-day total of 5 under-par. He is 26 years old and currently represents Haywards Heath Golf Club. This is his third season on the Alps Tour. During today’s final round, Floydd made 1 eagle and 1 bogey on his front nine and 1 double bogey, 1 bogey and 2 birdies on the back nine. After his round, he commented: “I played very nicely this week, it required a lot of thinking. It was plotting your way around the course with some good strategy which I really enjoyed as it was very different compared to the usual Alps Tour courses.” When asked about his start, “I got off to a great start, I made a fantastic eagle on 4, I was playing solid with only a few bad shots but then on hole 10, I played it the same way I had done the last 2 days but hit a poor tee shot and lost my ball. I made a comfortable decision which was the same as my previous two rounds and just didn’t get a good swing and got penalized due to the very thick rough this week.”
France’s Augustin Hole, 25 years old who represents Biarritz Le Phare was tied for 17th after round 2, had a final round, 5 under-par 65 that included 4 birdies, 1 bogey and a hole-out eagle on the par 4 11th hole for a three-day total of 4 under-par and concluded the tournament tied for 5th place. He continued his solid performance after finishing 4th at last week’s event in Italy. After the round, Hole happily commented: “today was a great round, starting early was a good advantage with no wind and good greens. My eagle on 11 was awesome, I holed out from 50 meters. I couldn’t see the green but heard the claps. It was a great feeling.” He came up just 1 stroke short from entering the play-off and was “slightly disappointed coming up a little short as I had chances on 16 and 17 but I’m overall very happy with how I played this week. There are a lot of positive to take to the next tournaments.”
Alongside Hole, tied for 5th place with a three-day score of 4 under-par, 2023 Gösser Open winner, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney. He shot a final round of 2 under-par that included 5 birdies and 3 bogeys. He turned professional in 2019, competed in the 2022 Open Championship and this is his 1st full season playing on the Alps Tour.
After the 6th event of the season and his third win, Kiet Van der Weele extends his lead in the Order of Merit Rank. In 2ndplace Ronan Mullarney with 13,434 points and in 3rd place Jack Floydd with 10,140 points.

Theo Brizard leads by 1 at the 20th Open de La Mirabelle d’Or.
Another beautiful day with mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures welcomed the players at Golf Domaine de la Grange aux Ormes for the 2nd round of the 2023 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or. Play began at 7:30 am from both the 1stand 10th hole. This is the 20th edition of the tournament and has been part of the Alps Tour schedule since 2005. For tomorrow’s final round, a sunny day is expected with temperatures around 26°C.
Twenty-two year old, Theo Brizard from France, who was tied for 8th place after the 1st round, now finds himself in the lead by 1 stroke. He shot a second round of 5 under-par,65 with 8 birdies, 1 bogey and 1 double bogey. Brizard turned professional in 2021 yet has never won an Alps Tour event. His best finish was a 2nd place in 2021 at the season opener in Acaya as an amateur. Brizard began his round with 3 birdies in a row and 5 birdies overall in his first 6 holes. After his round he was very satisfied and happily commented: “Today was a tough fight! I played really solid tee to green, managed to get myself in a lot of birdie positions which was positive. I played really well the easy holes, was focused on the hard ones, and to start my round with 3 birdies helped a lot! I hit the 2 par 5s in 2 and holed a nice 4 meters putt on 11. It was a great start!” When asked about his approach heading into the final round tomorrow in the lead, Brizard added: “I’ll go the same way, try to play well and enjoy the easy holes, being focused on the hard ones, and have a good attitude until the end! I have some tough competitors behind me, but I’m confident! It’ll be a nice fight, and I look forward to the challenge.”
England’s Jack Floydd, winner of the season opener 2023 Ein Bay Open, is only 1 stroke off the lead after the 2nd round of the 2023 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or. He is 26 years old and turned professional in 2020. He is currently playing his third season on the Alps Tour. Floydd was tied for 8th place at 1 under-par after the 1st round of the tournament and now is in 2nd place with a two-day total of 5 under-par. He made 7 birdies and 3 bogeys during round 2, for a 4 under-par,66. After his round, he commented on how “the course is very tricky compared to previous years. The fairways are rock hard and the rough is very penal so it’s super important to avoid it. I made 7 birdies today keeping the ball in play for the most part and gave myself some good chances on the greens which I managed to capitalize on.” Floydd went on to add that the strongly believes the “rough is very penal, it paramount to avoid it. Obviously, it’s not always possible, but certainly the strategy has changed from the previous years where there is a lot more irons of the tees this year to make sure you keep the ball in play. The downside on some holes is leaving yourself longer yardages into the greens but I believe that is definitely preferable compared to being in the long stuff.” Looking ahead to the final round tomorrow, where he could capture his 2nd title of the year, “it would mean a great deal to me to win my second event of the year, I’m delighted to have won the season opener but to get a second one would help me in the rankings and put me in a good position for the remainder of the season. It wouldn’t however change any of my plans, I plan to play all of the events this season and hopefully be able to graduate to the Challenge Tour.”
Lars Keunen from Netherland who was one of the co-leaders at 3 under-par at the conclusion of the 1st round finds himself in 3rd place only 2 strokes from the leader heading into the final round. He made 3 birdies and 2 bogeys today for a two-day total of 4 under-par. He currently sits 10th in the Order of Merit rank. After his round, Keunen commented how “today was a very solid round. I hit a lot of greens and luckily didn’t get in too much trouble. For tomorrow I will stick to my game plan of getting the ball in play off the tees and stay patient on the greens for putts to fall.”
Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele who has already captured two wins this season is in 4th place with a two-day total of 3 under-par. There is a 5-way tied for 5th place at 2 under-par that includes: France’s Nicolas Aparicio, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, Swiss Luca Galliano and French amateur Theo Boulet.
The highlight of the day belongs to France’s Franck Daux who made a hole-in-one on the par 3, 17th hole with a 50° wedge.Final Round
A total of 53 players made the cut which was set at +4 (144).

The 9th edition of the Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon gets underway!
Como, May 22nd 2023- After a week off, the tour returns to action in the Northwestern part of Italy for the 9th edition of the Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon. This will be the 5th event of the 2023 season and will be played at Golf Club La Pinetina near Como, Italy from Wednesday 24th May until Friday 26th May. On Tuesday 23rd May, the traditional best ball aggregate to par pro-am will take place with approximately 25 teams competing.
This tournament is named and dedicated to highly acclaimed golf instructor, Giorgio Bordoni who unexpectedly passed away in 2013 at the age of 48. He was one of the founders of the Blue Team Golf Academy, a unique and innovative initiative in the world of coaching. He also worked many years for the Italian Golf Federation as a National Coach earning many accomplishments in his career.
This is the 9th edition of the tournament which has been a consistent stop on the Alps Tour schedule since 2014. In 2020, it was the only year the event wasn’t played due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Field

Alongside the current season winners, 4 players in the top 10 in the Order of Merit will compete: France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy who is in 4th place, Italy’s Andrea Romano in 7th in the Order of Merit rank with his compatriots Gianmaria Rean Trinchero who is in 8th place and Cristiano Terragni rounds out the top 10.
The Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon title was captured by notable players over the years. The 1st edition of the event in 2014 was won by Spain’s Borja Virto while his compatriot Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez came to victory in 2019. Another Spanish victory occurred in 2021 with Angel Hidalgo Portillo winning with a total score of 14 under-par. Current DP World Tour player, Italy’s Guido Migliozzi triumphed in 2018.
The 2022 edition was won by Italy’s Gregorio De Leo, he won the 2022 Alps Tour Order of Merit and became a Challenge Tour player. He conquered the event in style with a fabulous 59 in the final round!
From 2015 to 2018 as well as the most recent edition was won by Italian players: Marco Crespi, Stefano Pitoni, Guido Migliozzi, Andrea Perrino and Gregorio De Leo all of whom have been able to honor their fellow colleague, Giorgio Bordoni with victories.

The Course
Golf Club La Pinetina in Appiano Gentile, Italy is situated 35 km north of Milan and 12 km south of Como. It is a very undulating 5761 meters par 70 course. It was designed by Harris Albertini Mezzalane and opened in 1971. It offers beautiful panoramic views of the nearby landscape that includes view of Monte Rosa which is the second highest mountain in Italy and the Alps of Lombardy.
Golf Club La Pinetina covers 70 hectars in the “Appiano Gentile and Tradate Pinewood Regional Park” rich of pine trees, oak and chestnut trees as well as Scotch pine and birch trees. It’s not a particularly long course, however the complex design situated on a very hilly terrain, requires accuracy and precise strategy from each player. Thanks to the natural layout of this golf course, players will find notable holes that will allow this course to stand out from the rest.

The Alps Tour heads to Austria for the 31st Gösser Open.
Maria Lankowitz, May 9th 2023- The Alps Tour players head to Austria to compete in the 31st edition of the 2023 Gösser Open. This will be the 4th event of the 2023 season and will be played at Golf Club Erzherzog Johann in Maria Lankowitz from Thursday May 11th until Saturday May 13th.
On May 9th at GC Graz-Andritz St. Gotthard, owned by the Murhof Gruppe, this week’s promoter, the 2023 Austrian International Par 3 Championship will take place. Some of the professionals that will be taking part will then be competing for the Gösser Open title.
On Wednesday May 10th, the traditional Gösser Open shotgun Pro-Am will take place with approximately 32 teams competing.
The Gösser Open, is one of the most important stops of the Tour season and it is the oldest tournament on the Alps Tour schedule. It is also the most traditional professional golf tournament played in Austria.
The event began in 1993 at Steiermärkischer Golf Club Murhof and in 2000 it moved to Erzherzog Johann GC, which became its permanent host course. Just a year later in 2001 when the Alps Tour was founded, the Gösser Open became part of the Alps Tour schedule, and has been a regular event since then.
The Field
All of this season past winners will headline a strong field of 144 players at the 2023 Gösser Open: Jack Floydd, winner of the 2023 Ein Bay Open, Quim Vidal, winner of the 2023 Red Sea Little Venice Open and Kiet Van der Weele, winner of the 2023 Alps de Las Castillas.
In the field this week, all of the players who are currently in the top 10 of the actual Alps Tour Order of Merit will be competing except for number 7, Spain’s Jacobo Pastor. The current top 3 places are held by leader Spain’s Quim Vidal, number 2 Netherland’s and most recent winner Kiet Van der Weele and England’s Jack Floydd who rounds out the top 3 spots.
The current defending champion of the Gösser Open, which also celebrated the 30th edition is Austria’s own Markus Brierwith a score of 17 under-par. He is a current Legends Tour player with multiple wins on both the Challenge Tour as well as the DP World Tour. He captured the Gösser Open title three times in his career: 1994, 1995 and 2022.
Brier will be in the field this week alongside fellow Legends Tour players Swiss André Bossert and England’s David Shacklady.
The Gösser Open title was captured by notable players over the years that include England’s Matt Wallace in 2016. Inevitably a number of Austrian players have triumphed over the years some of which multiple times: Lukas Nemecs, Gordon Manson and most recently Markus Brier.
One of the most recent past champions, Austria’s Timon Baltl who won in 2019 will be competing for the title this week alongside other past champions like: Austria’s Martin Wiegele, France’s Thomas Elissalde and Austria’s Jurgen Maurer. Baltl was able to earn his Challenge Tour card in 2020 thanks to the results he achieved in 2019 on the Alps Tour.
This week, there will be 144 players competing from 17 different nationalities for the title. The players will be playing for a prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 points. The winner of the 31st edition of the Gösser Open, will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The format of the tournament is a 54 holes stroke play, where a cut will be made after 36 holes. The top 40 players and ties will compete during the final round on May 13th 2023.

The Course
Golf Club Erzherzog Johann in Maria Lankowitz is a 5967 meters par 72 course. It was designed by architect DI Herwig Zisser and inaugurated in 1992. The course is located about 40km from the city of Graz on the edge of a natural reserve in the Western Styria area. It was built as part of a revitalization project due to the fact that the area underneath the golf course was previously a coal mine.
Golf Club Erzherzog Johann in Maria Lankowitz has some picturesque views including rolling hills, lakes, and forests which appease the eye. Nonetheless, the course creates numerous challenges for the players that require accuracy and precision due to the layout of the golf course.
The current tournament course record is held by Lukas Lipold in his 2nd round of the 2022 Gösser Open, Thomas Feyrsinger in his 2nd round of the 2005 Gösser Open and Claude Grenier in his 1st round of the 2011 Gösser Open, all with a score of 63.
