Enrico Di Nitto Wins 2026 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar After A Three-Hole Playoff
Roquetas de Mar, June 13th, 2026 – The Final Round of the 2026 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar got underway this morning under sunny skies and calm conditions at Club de Golf Playa Serena. However, as play progressed, the wind gradually strengthened and remained a constant factor throughout the day, once again testing the players and adding an extra challenge to the final round.
England’s Mason Essam, who led the tournament after each of the first two rounds, carded a final-round 5-over-par to finish the week at 1-under-par. Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto, who began the day tied for second place, posted an even-par final round. A clutch birdie on the 18th hole allowed him to join Essam at the top of the leaderboard and force a playoff.
After three holes of a sudden-death playoff on the 18th hole, Enrico Di Nitto emerged victorious with a birdie to claim the 2026 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar title.
Finishing in a share of third place at even par for the tournament: Spain’s Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela and France’s Paul Franquet.
With this win, Di Nitto earned the winning check of €7,900 and 6,525 points towards the Order of Merit standings, moving up 9 spots to now be in 5th place.
Essam climbed 2 spots to 9th place, while France’s Paul Franquet moved up 3 spots to 4th in the new Order of Merit standings.
Following the 2026 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar, Italy’s Andrea Romano, continues to lead the Alps Tour Order of Merit. Maxime Legros from France and Robert Moran from Ireland remain in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
Following a one-week break, the players will return to action from June 25th–27th for the 2026 UGolf Aravell Andorra Open.

Enrico Di Nitto, 33, from Italy, reflects on his victory: “The emotions today were many. The first thing I said to my caddie after the opening tee shot on the first playoff hole was how incredible it is to feel that kind of pressure. It’s what we play for, and I hadn’t felt it for a while—it was amazing.
The wind was the biggest factor this week. If I’m honest, I was actually happy when I saw the forecast because I enjoy playing in the wind. It makes you think more, the ball moves a lot, and I think it definitely made a difference in the second round, when I started to get more used to the conditions here. My second round yesterday was certainly the key to this victory.
The birdie on 18 was crucial. Mason missed a short putt that, honestly, I didn’t expect him to miss to win it. Going into the playoff, I felt very charged mentally and I kept thinking positively.
This is my first win as a father, and I can’t wait to get home to my family to be with them and celebrate.”

Mason Essam Maintains Lead as Wind Continues to Test the Field at the 2026 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar
Roquetas de Mar, June 12th, 2026 – Round 2 of the 2026 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar, continued today at Club de Golf Playa Serena in Roquetas de Mar, Spain. Although players enjoyed sunny skies and warm temperatures throughout the day, strong winds continued to blow across the course, creating challenging scoring conditions.
After 36 holes, only three players remain under par for the tournament. England’s Mason Essam maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard with a 2-under-par second round, moving to 6-under-par for the tournament.
Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto moved into a two-way tie for second place after signing for the low round of the day. The Italian carded an impressive bogey-free 3-under-par round in the difficult conditions to reach a two-day total of 1-under-par, keeping himself firmly in contention heading into Saturday’s final round.
He is joined in the share for second place by Spain’s Victor García Broto, who also produced a strong performance in the afternoon wave, signing for a 2-under-par round to remain firmly in the mix heading into Saturday.
A total of 46 players (45 pros, 1 amateurs) made the cut which was set at 147 (+7). The Final Round will begin at 9:00 a.m. local time from both the 1st and 10th tees. The final pairing will tee off at 10:50 a.m. local time from the 1st tee.
At stake this week is a total prize fund of €54,550 and 45,000 Order of Merit points. The 2026 Alps de Andalucía-Roquetas de Mar winner will earn €7,900 and 6,525 points towards the Order of Merit standings.

Mason Essam, 26, from England, was delighted with his performance over the opening two rounds and believes the strong results reflect the progress he has been making throughout the season. “Today was great. To be six-under through two rounds out there with only two bogeys, I’m over the moon. The last couple of weeks have shown some really good signs, but it’s definitely been coming since the start of the year. I’ve played some lovely golf this season, but I’ve been a little off on and around the greens. It’s nice to start seeing things come together.
Today was windy again, and it was all about taking it one shot at a time. It’s so hard not to get ahead of yourself, but I tried really hard to just execute the best I could. My putter has been a real help this week. It’s been my get-out-of-jail card, and I’ve been cleaning up nicely from around six feet, which has helped me keep the momentum going.
Tomorrow looks windy again, so the focus remains the same: keep the ball in the fairways, play to the center of the greens, and see where that takes me.”
Enrico Di Nitto, 33, from Italy, was particularly satisfied with his consistency throughout the day and the way he managed the demanding conditions to post a bogey-free round. “Today went very well. My game from tee to green was very solid. It was difficult to hit a lot of greens in these conditions, but whenever I missed one, I managed to miss it on the correct side and leave myself with a simpler chip shot. Even then, nothing was easy out there.”
“My short putting was also very good. On days like today, you need every part of your game to be consistent because it’s very easy to shoot five or six over par. That’s why I’m extremely pleased with the round. We had some strong wind gusts this morning, which made things complicated, and it looks like the wind will continue to be a factor throughout the tournament.”
“Tomorrow is expected to be windy again, so my focus will be to stay committed to the same approach that worked well today, remain patient, and take it shot by shot.”
Victor Garcia Broto, 29, from Spain, was particularly pleased with his composure throughout the round and the impact his putting had on his score. “Today was a tough day because of the wind. It was a very difficult round, and low scores were hard to come by. I feel my game was quite similar to what it was yesterday, and I played very solidly, but the main difference was my putting. I holed some very important putts on the front nine, including some long ones on holes 1, 7, and 8, which helped turn the round in the right direction.”
“I’m very happy with how calm I stayed throughout the day and how I accepted the mistakes, which were very easy to make in these conditions. Being able to stay patient and respond well to those moments was very important.”
“My focus for tomorrow is to continue doing the same things I’ve done over the first two days: stay calm, stay focused on my game and commit to what I want to do on every shot. Above all, I want to enjoy the round and have a good day. If I do that, hopefully the rest will take care of itself.”

Maxime Legros secures third victory of the season and earns HotelPlanner Tour promotion
France, June 7th, 2026 – Just one week after Andrea Romano, France’s Maxime Legros became the second player this season to earn automatic promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour by claiming a third Alps Tour title. Following victories at the Dreamland Open and the Miglianico Alps Open, the Frenchman added the Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or to his impressive 2026 campaign.
Starting the final round one shot behind overnight leader Enrico Di Nitto, the Dinard-based player needed only one hole to catch the Italian. He then took control of the tournament with an eagle, five birdies and a single bogey on his way to a superb 63 (-7).
Di Nitto, playing alongside Legros in the final group, could only manage an even-par round. The Italian nevertheless shared second place, six shots behind the winner, with compatriot Alessandro Nodari, who closed with a solid 65 (-5).
Ireland’s Robert Moran and Italy’s Davide Buchi shared fourth place, seven strokes back.
Behind Andrea Romano and Maxime Legros, Robert Moran consolidated his third position in the Order of Merit ahead of Spain’s Pablo Alperi Lopez (4th) and Mario Galiano Aguilar (5th). Thanks to his runner-up finish, Alessandro Nodari climbed to sixth place and moved within striking distance of the top five.
The race for qualification to the 2026 Hulencourt Alps Tour Grand Final and promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour will resume from Thursday, June 11th, at Club de Golf Playa Serena in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, for the 2026 Alps de Andalucía – Roquetas de Mar.

Maxime Legros: “I’m very happy and, above all, very relieved. I won’t have to answer all those questions anymore about when the third win was going to come. Since the start of the tournament, I had played better on the back nine, so my goal was to get off to a strong start. I managed to build an advantage quite quickly, but I let Enrico back into it with a couple of three-putts. Thankfully, I was able to extend my lead again on the back nine.
By the 16th hole, I was five shots ahead and started imagining every possible disaster scenario. But after making birdie on 17, I was finally able to fully enjoy the walk up the 18th.
The injury I suffered last year has actually helped me become much calmer on the golf course. I’ve also improved a lot with my putting, which gives me much more confidence in my game.
I’ll be able to start my HotelPlanner Tour journey with the French swing, which is great because it’s close to home. I want to use these next six months to adapt to a new tour, new courses and new opponents.”

Enrico Di Nitto edges Maxime Legros ahead of final round in Metz
France, June 6th, 2026 – After a controlled second-round performance, Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto moved into the lead at the 23rd Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or.
Starting on the 10th tee, the three-time Alps Tour winner got off to a flying start with three birdies in his opening holes. He added two more birdies and a lone bogey on his way to a 66 (-4), taking a narrow advantage into the final round.
Di Nitto will begin Sunday with a one-shot lead over France’s Maxime Legros. The Dinard-based player carded a solid 65 (-5) featuring six birdies and one bogey. Already a two-time winner this season, Legros could join Andrea Romano on the HotelPlanner Tour with a victory this week.
Italy’s Davide Buchi, in third place and three shots behind the leader, remains firmly in contention. France’s Alexandre Vandermoten and Théo Brizard, Ireland’s Robert Moran, and Italy’s Filippo Bergamaschi share fourth place.
For tomorrow’s final round, play will begin at 9:15 a.m. from both the 1st and 10th tees. At the conclusion of the third round, the winner will receive €7,090 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. In the event of a tie, a playoff will determine the champion.

Enrico Di Nitto: “I played very well from the tee. I only missed two fairways, but I managed both situations well and saved par. My chipping and putting have been really good over the last two days. Something has changed in my game this week. I have more confidence thanks to the work I’ve been doing recently, and that has helped me stay calm and focused. It has made a big difference during these first two rounds.”
Maxime Legros: “One shot is working particularly well for me this week: a low tee-ball that flies low and rolls a lot. It’s very useful on this course with the thick rough because it helps me stay in position while still getting distance. I’ve executed it almost all week and it allows me to hit shorter clubs into the greens than most of the field.
Of course, what Andrea Romano achieved is inspiring and it makes you want to follow the same path. We’re all human, so you naturally think a little about the future, but I’m really trying to stay in the present as much as possible.”

Agusti Quinquilla sets the pace at the 23rd Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or
France, June 5th, 2026 – While his front nine was relatively quiet in 33 (-1), Agusti Quinquilla made his move on the back nine during the opening round of the Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or. The Spaniard produced a stunning stretch with two birdies and an eagle between holes 10 and 12, before adding two more birdies coming home to sign an excellent 63 (-7) and take the first-round lead.
The 25-year-old has not managed to pull away from the field, however. Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto and Davide Buchi, Spain’s Gonzalo Leal, and Ireland’s Robert Moran are all just one shot behind.
France’s Baptiste Achard and Italy’s Flavio Michetti share sixth place at -5, two strokes off the lead.
For Round 2, play will begin at 7:30 a.m. from both the 1st and 10th tees. At the conclusion of the second round, a cut will be made to the top 40 professionals and ties, who will advance to the final round (including all amateurs within the cut).

Agusti Quinquilla : “It was one of those rounds where almost everything went right. From the first hole, I committed to an aggressive strategy and hit more drivers than players usually do on this course. I drove the ball extremely well and barely missed a fairway all day.
The key moment came at the start of the back nine. I made a really good birdie on 10, another on 11, and then on 12 I hit a great drive, a 7-iron to two metres and holed the putt for eagle. That stretch really got my round going. After that, I kept playing well, stayed in position, and added a few more birdies. The feeling is good heading into tomorrow and hopefully everything keeps working the same way.”
Davide Buchi: “I felt pretty good on the course today. I wasn’t overly aggressive and hit a lot of irons from the tee. Conditions changed a bit throughout the round, especially with the wind, but I think I adapted well. Overall, every part of my game was solid, but my irons and putting were probably the strongest areas today. Hopefully I can keep that going over the next two days.”

Mattia Comotti earns his first win at the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON.
Appiano Gentile, May 10 th 2024 – Italy’s Mattia Comotti wins the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON with a total score of 15 under-par. Fellow Italian player, Enrico Di Nitto concludes the tournament in 2nd place only 1 stroke back. France’s Benjamin Kedochim continues his solid performance with a three-day score of 11 under-par. In 4th place at 10 under-par, Italian amateur Alessandro Radig and only 1 stroke back at 9 under-par, French amateur Paul Franquet.
The final round of the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON began at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1stand 10th hole and the final group teed off at 9:17 am local time from the 1st hole. The players competing at the beautiful Golf Club La Pinetina were able to play with optimal scoring conditions as it was a mostly sunny day with temperatures around 23° Celsius and barely any wind.
The tournament is named after and dedicated to highly acclaimed golf instructor, Giorgio Bordoni who unexpectedly passed away in 2013 at the age of 48. This year is the 10th edition of the event which has been a consistent stop on the Alps Tour schedule since 2014. In 2020, it was the only year the event wasn’t played due to Covid-19.
Final Round Player Quotes
Italy’s Mattia Comotti, 24, wins his 1st Alps Tour title at the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON. He moved in the lead after yesterday’s round 2 and today he shot a 3 under-par, 67 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 15 under-par. Comotti turned professional at the end of July 2023 so this is his 1st full playing season on the Alps Tour as a professional player. In today’s final round, he made 4 birdies and 2 bogeys on the front nine and then 2 more birdies and 1 bogey on the back nine. After his win, Comotti was very emotional and commented: “I’m extremely happy, I’m speechless to be honest. To earn my 1st win as a professional in not even a full calendar year since I turned pro is truly amazing. This win is for my entire family, but especially my mom, who passed away. To be honest I wasn’t expecting this win, I hadn’t booked a hotel room for last night. Normally, I’m always right on the cut line, but today, to be playing in the final pairing today and earn the win is extraordinary.” Comotti took the time to: “congratulate my playing partner Enrico Di Nitto. He’s a great fighter and we were very close for the entire day. Had he made the putt on the 17th hole, we would have been tied heading to the 18th and it would have been a great fight. I had a short putt on the 18th hole but I told myself if I miss I lose and need to play in a playoff against a great player so I really concentrated on making the putt.” For the rest of the season he plans on: “playing the entire Alps Tour season this year and trying to conclude the season as high as possible in the Order of Merit rank.”
Enrico Di Nitto, 31, from Italy, shot a final round of 4 under-par, 66 to conclude the tournament in 2nd place, only 1 stroke from the winning score with a three-day total of 14 under-par. He made 2 birdies and 1 bogey on the opening front nine and then made 3 more birdies to close out his round. Di Nitto is a past winner on the Alps Tour and has achieved various good finishes over the years.
France’s Benjamin Kedochim, 29, concludes the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON with a 3rd place finish and a total score of 11 under-par. He made 3 birdies on the front nine and 3 bogeys on the back nine holes to conclude his final round with an even-par round. Kedochim has earned several top 5 finishes in his career but is continuing his pursuit in trying to capture his 1st title on the Alps Tour. He has been playing consistently well since the beginning of the 2024 season and plans on continuing to work hard to hopefully earn a trophy in the upcoming events.
After the 5th event of the season, the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has Edoardo R Lipparelli still in the lead with 14,715 points. Aymeric Laussot remains in 2nd place with 12,001.50 points and Benjamin Kedochim moves into 3rd place with 9,416.25. Enrico Di Nitto is now in 4th place with 8,960.25 and Gianmaria Rean Trinchero is in 5th place with 7,425 points.
Final Round

The next event on the schedule is set for next week, from May 16 to 18 in Austria. Players will compete in the 32nd edition of the Gösser Open, the oldest tournament on the Alps Tour schedule, at Golf Club Erzherzog Johann in Maria Lankowitz, Graz.

It was another day with mostly sunny skies and a temperature around 23° Celsius that welcomed the players at Golf Club La Pinetina in Como, Italy, for the second round of the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON. Play began at 7:30 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole.
The tournament is named after and dedicated to highly acclaimed golf instructor, Giorgio Bordoni who unexpectedly passed away in 2013 at the age of 48. This year is the 10th edition of the event which has been a consistent stop on the Alps Tour schedule since 2014. In 2020, it was the only year the event wasn’t played due to Covid-19.
Round 2 Player Quotes

After his 8 under-par, 62 Comotti was very satisfied and happily commented: “Today was a spectacular day. I had the chance to hole out two chip shots, and for the rest, I played well. The few mistakes I made I was able to recover nicely so it was really a super day. This morning, I was more worried about making the cut, but as the day went on, I made a few putts and some birdies and gained some confidence from there to put together a good round.” Looking forward to playing in the final pairing tomorrow as the tournament leader, Comotti added: “It’s the first time I’ll be playing in the final pairing tomorrow, so I’m not sure what to expect. Hopefully, I’ll get a good night’s rest and be prepared for a good day.”

Kedochim has earned numerous top 5 finishes in his career but is still looking to earn his 1st title as he has never won an Alps Tour tournament. After his round, he commented: “I’m trying to stay focused on what I’m doing, on hitting shot by shot, and for now, I must say it’s working well. I’m playing a lot of tournament golf recently, I’m playing 14 tournaments in 15 weeks so it’s a long stretch of golf.” After his round, Kedochim also talked about how: “the course is in amazing conditions I must say. Today in the morning the greens were even better than yesterday, so I took advantage. You know, when you put together a bogey-free round, it’s always good. I tried to play safe, avoiding bad positions but giving myself the chance to make as many birdies as possible. I missed a few putts today; I could have easily been 9 or 10 under-par but I can’t complain with the day.” Kedochim has been playing well since the beginning of the 2024 season and he explained that: “I’ve been working a lot on my attitude and my behavior and concentrating on hitting one shot at a time and not getting too far ahead of myself. I can say it’s been working in my favor so far. Tomorrow, I plan on hitting every fairway, every green and do my best like always and see what will happen.”
Enrico Di Nitto, 31, from Italy, is 2 strokes off the lead after the 2nd round of the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON. He was tied for 4th place at 4 under-par after the 1st round of the tournament and now is in a solo 3rd place with a two-day total of 10 under-par. He shot a bogey-free round during today’s round 2, for a 6 under-par, 64. Di Nitto is a past winner on the Alps Tour and has achieved various good finishes over the years. At last year’s edition, he concluded the tournament tied for 4th place, and he explained how he thoroughly likes this golf course. After his bogey-free round, he commented on how: “I played very solid today, I must say it was very similar to yesterday’s round. My tee-to-green game was very sharp. Today I was able to make a few more putts compared to yesterday I must say.” Di Nitto went on to add that he found GC La Pinetina, “handled the rain very well, I feel like it’s not necessarily playing any longer than usual, but the ball is flying a bit more compared to the past few years. The greens were amazing this morning, the ball rolled very true, and I found them slightly faster than yesterday.” For tomorrow’s final round, he plans on, “playing my game, shot by shot and hole by hole. I will see after the 18th hole where that will have taken me.”
The highlights of the day belong to Italy’s Marco Florioli (am), who made a Hole-In-One on the 162 meters, par 3, 17th hole with a 7 iron, and France’s Baptiste Achard, who made a Hole-In-One on the 142 meters, par 3, 5th hole with a 9 iron.
Final Round
A total of 48 players made the cut which was set at 139 (-1).
The Final Round of the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON will begin at 8:00 am local time from the 1st and 10th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9:17 am local time from the 1st hole.
The winner of the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON will walk away with €5,800.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Spanish amateur Jose A. Sintes Navarro wins the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open.
Egypt, February 27th, 2024 – After three days of fabulous golf, Spanish amateur Jose A. Sintes Navarro wins the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open with a total score of 16 under-par. In a three-way tie for 2nd place at 15 under-par: Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto, Spain’s Eduard Rousaud and Austria’s Lukas Lipold.
Another beautiful day with optimal scoring conditions hosted the Final Round of the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open which is being held at the gorgeous Sokhna Golf Club near Suez, Egypt. Play began at 8:00 am local time from the 1st and 10thhole and the leaders teed off 9:30 am local time from the 1st hole.
Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto, 31 years old shot a bogey-free final round of 5 under-par, 67 to conclude the tournament in a three-way tie for 2nd place at 15 under-par alongside Spain’s Eduard Rousaud and Austria’s Lukas Lipold. He made 3 birdies on his opening front nine and then added another birdie on the 12th and 18th hole to end his day. Di Nitto is a past winner on the Alps Tour and has achieved good results in the past here in Egypt. After his bogey-free round, he commented on how: “My iron play today was outstanding; however, my short putts were horrible. I missed seven putts under 10-ft and that’s unfortunate otherwise my round would have been even better. For the event next week I plan to work a lot on my short putts within 3 meters so I try and put together even better scores.”
Eduard Rousaud, twenty-three years old from Spain is the second player who concluded the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open in the three-way tie for 2nd place at 15 under-par. During today’s 4 under-par, 68 round, Rousaud made 2 bogeys and 6 birdies. After his round, he commented: “I fell just short from having a chance to win today unfortunately as I made a big mistake on the last hole, I hit a bad wedge shot and bogeyed. Overall, today I must say I didn’t start well but I tried to stay focused on what I could control and I’m very proud of how I stayed in the present and how my putter worked all day. Obviously, now I’m a bit disappointed falling just one shot short, but overall, I’m very happy with how the tournament went. I can say that today my driving was beautiful today, much better than yesterday and my putting was also very solid.” Rousaud added that he plans on, “focusing playing on mainly on the Alps Tour this season and try to do my best and maybe play a few Challenge Tour event if I’m able to get some invites but we will see. Definitely, I will be playing the Alps Tour season and trying to earn as many Order of Merit points as possible.”
Thirty years old, Lukas Lipold from Austria, who turned professional at the end of 2019 is the third player in the three-way tie for 2nd place after the final round of the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open. He shot a 3 under-par,67 in today’s final round with 2 bogeys and 5 birdies. Lipold has earned various top finishes over the years but is still looking to earn his 1st victory on the Alps Tour. After his round, Lipold was: “happy with the tournament but I’m unfortunate to be short by just 1 shot. Today was a bit tougher to play to be honest, there was more wind, at times even 2 clubs of wind. Today I didn’t drive the ball so well, so I found myself recovering a lot and didn’t give myself a lot of birdie chances. My putting is still pretty good, and I gave myself a good chance on the last hole but, unfortunately, just missed it. Overall, like I said I’m happy. There are a lot of positive feelings coming from these two weeks. I look forward to continuing to work on what I did prior to these two weeks for hopefully even better results in the tournament to come.”
After the first two events of the season, the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has France’s Aymeric Laussot in the lead with 7,285.50 points. Spain’s Jose A. Sintes Navarro (am) and Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli close out the top three spots. In 4th place, Austria’s Lukas Lipold and in 5th place Spain’s Eduard Rousaud.

A typical sunny spring day with blue skies and warm temperatures on the border between the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna Region welcomed the players for the first round of the 2023 Croara Alps Open played at Croara Country Club near Piacenza, Italy. Play began at 7:30 am this morning from both the 1st and 10th hole. The forecast for the remainder of the week is expected to be very similar to today which will allow players to have optimal scoring conditions.
This is the first time that Croara Country Club is hosting an Alps Tour event. Players are subject to the new course and its subsequent new conditions. After Saturday’s final round, we will have an inaugural winner for this event.
Round 1 Player Quotes
Ludovico Addabbo from Italy who concluded last week’s event in France tied for 7th place with a poor finish, has a 1 stroke lead after the 1st round of the 2023 Croara Alps Open. He turned professional in the early part of 2020, is 24 years old and represents Castelgandolfo Golf and Country Club. During today’s round, he made 3 bogeys, 2 eagles and 6 birdies for a 7 under-par,64. He had a very strong finish making an eagle on his 18th hole of the day, the actual 9th hole. After his round, Addabbo was ecstatic, “Today was a great day, I made a lot of birdies, 2 eagles and unfortunately 3 bogeys but I cannot be disappointed. My putter was definitely on my side today, I’ve had some issues with it in the past but today was not the case. After today’s round I hope now have a good relationship with my putter.” He added that he believes “the course is in good shape, you must hit it straight, very similar to last week in France but luckily this week it’s not as punitive.” He feels that he’s been playing well for a while now and now that the putter is finally on his side, “I feel I have some good golf coming. Tomorrow I won’t focus on anything specific, I will just try to hit as many fairways and greens as possible to give myself the most birdie chances. I will also try to stay calm and focused. The most important is to give myself chances and enjoy the moment. Every hole is a new birdies opportunity and I look forward too many more tomorrow.”
Italy’s Edoardo Giletta who represents Golf Biella Le Betulle is in a two-way tie for 2nd place at the conclusion of the 1stround at the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open. He shot a 6 under-par, 65 opening round with 3 birdies on his front nine and 2 bogeys, 1 eagle and 3 birdies to conclude his round. When he signed his card, Giletta commented on how “I was really consistent today in my game and didn’t make too many mistakes. I putted very well, I found a good rhythm pretty quickly so it was good to get going and get a good round in.” He went on to add that he ended his round with “two silly bogeys, one was a three-putt and the other was just a bad shot and couldn’t recover but I was able to stay calm and focused on the upcoming holes which I was able to have a birdie-birdie finish.” When asked about his perspective into tomorrow, he explained: “I will try to stay as calm as possible and play shot by shot and hole by hole without getting too far ahead of myself. I’m pretty confident in my game especially after today’s round. Now I will go and do a light practice to keep the feel going.”
Lars Keunen from Netherland concluded his first round at the 2023 Croara Alps Open with a bogey-free 6 under-par, 65 to be the second player in the two-way tie for 2nd place. He is 26 years old and represents The Dutch Golf Club. He currently is in 8th place in the Order of Merit rank and has been consistently near the top of the leaderboards in the majority of this seasons event. After another great bogey-free round, Keunen commented, “My round was very solid. I didn’t have to make too many putts for par and gave myself a lot of birdie chances.” When enquired about his perspective for the week, “I will try to keep doing the same things and play one shot at a time. I think I just have to stay patient with my game and trust that I’m working on the right things and that results are coming.” This is the first time that Croara Country Club hosts an Alps Tour event and Keunen found “the course is very nice but I believe to play well, you have to hit some good tee-shots and must be able to shape the ball a little.”
There is a 5-way tie for 4th place at 5-under par that includes: Swiss Luca Galliano, Spain’s Quim Vidal, Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto and France’s Benjamin Kedochim.
Italy’s Elia Dallanegra (am) and Luca Castelli had the highlights of the opening round making a hole-in-one and an albatross. Dallanegra (am) made a hole-in one on the par 3, 16th hole with a 9-iron from 132 meters. While, Castelli made an albatross on the par 4, 15th hole holing out his driver

This is the first time that Croara Country Club will host an Alps Tour event. Being a new event on the schedule, it is sure to be an intriguing week where players will be subject to a new course, and its subsequent conditions. At the end of the event, we will have an inaugural winner of this Alps Tour stop with a new tournament score record for this golf course.
The Field
A very strong field is expected this week in Italy for the 7th event of the season.
All of this season previous winners will be competing for the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open title except for Netherland’s Kiet Van der Weele who captured 3 titles so far including last week’s event in France.
The following top 10 Order of Merit players are expected to compete: Ireland’s Ronan Mullarney, England’s Jack Floydd, Spain’s Quim Vidal, France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy, Italy’s Enrico Di Nitto, Netherland’s Davey Porsius and Lars Keunen, Spain’s Asier Aguirre Izcue and Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero.
The field will be made up of 144 players representing 16 different nations. The players will be competing for a prize fund of €40,000 and 45,000 points. The winner of the inaugural 2023 Croara Alps Open, will earn €5,800 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
The tournament will be played as a 54 holes stroke play event, where a cut will be made after 36 holes. The top 40 players and ties will compete during the final round scheduled on June 10th.

The Course
Croara Country Club located in Gazzola near Piacenza, Italy is situated only a few kilometers from Piacenza and about 96 km south of Milan, close to the border between Lombardy Region and Emilia-Romagna Region. The first nine holes were designed by Buratti and opened for play in 1976. While the second nine holes opened for play in 1983 and were designed by Croze and Lo Cascio. It will be played as a 6065 meters par 71 course.
It is located in an undulating area that is affected by the temperate climate of the close Liguria region. The 18 holes that run alongside the Trebbia River are considered a very technical course with relatively narrow fairways bordered by oaks, chestnut trees and locust trees that offers fascinating sceneries.
This is the first time that Croara Country Club will host and Italian Pro Tour event as well as an Alps Tour tournament. Nonetheless, it hosted the 1st Italian Women’s Open in 1987.
