The 21st Edition of the Alps Tour Qualifying School Returns to Italy

November 3^rd, 2025- The Alps Tour is set to celebrate the 21^st edition of its Qualifying School in Italy, reaffirming the country’s role as a cornerstone of the tour’s development pathway for emerging golf talent. Following the successful formula of recent years, the 2025 Qualifying School will once again be contested across four Italian regions, offering aspiring professionals the opportunity to earn their place on the 2026 Alps Tour season.

The First Stage will take place on November 5^th and 6^th, on three different venues: Golf Club Le Fonti, Conero Golf Club, and Golf Il Cerreto di Miglianico (formerly known as Miglianico Golf). Each course will host a field of aspiring professionals from across Europe and beyond, all vying for a spot in the Final Stage. The First Stage events will be contested over 36 holes of stroke play, with 18 holes being played each day at each venue.

Successful qualifiers will advance to the Final Stage, which will be played from November 12^th to 14^th, at two of Italy’s premier championship venues — Golf Nazionale and Terre dei Consoli Golf Club, both located in the scenic northern area of Rome. These courses, renowned for their challenging layouts and world-class facilities, will provide the ultimate test for the future Alps Tour Rising Stars.

This year’s fields feature 109 amateur players, and 39 under 20-year-old. A total of 25 different nations that include Albania, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, United Kingdom (with representatives from England, Great Britain and Wales), and the United States of America will be represented throughout the 2025 Qualifying School.

Applications were open to any male professional golfers belonging to a recognized PGA or Golf Federation, as well as male amateur players with a handicap of 2.0 or better.

In the three 1^st Stage events, 182 players will compete over the three different venues. The tournaments will be played over 36 holes with no cut, and the top-ranked players will gain access to the Final Stage event, where the top-ranked players will earn a full Alps Tour card for the 2026 season.

A total of 156 participants will compete in the Final Stage, with 68 players having already secured exemption status.

The players automatically eligible to participate in the Final Stage are those who meet the following criteria: all Alps Tour members ranked in the 2025 Alps Tour Order of Merit after the Parma Alps Open who weren’t in the field at the Regione Lazio Alps Tour Grand Final; all of the past winners of the Alps Tour Order of Merit from 2012 to 2022; the winners of the Alps Tour Qualifying School in 2022, 2023 and 2024; the leading 15 players in the World Amateur Golf Rankings as of October 20^th 2025; players who competed at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championship and/or the 2025 European Boys/Men Team Championships and/or the 2025 Walker Cup; players being members of the DP World Tour for the 2025 season until category 21 and members of the HotelPlanner Tour for the 2025 season until category 16; and max 10 spots for players having played the DP World Tour Qualifying School Second Stage in 2025.

The Golf Courses

The three First Stages of this year’s Qualifying School will be contested across three distinct golf courses in Italy: Golf Club Le Fonti, Conero Golf Club, and Golf Il Cerreto di Miglianico.

The first venue, a mainstay on the Stage 1 schedule, is in Northern Italy, approximately 30 km southeast of Bologna, in Castel San Pietro Terme. The course features 18 holes, measuring 6,411 meters with a par of 71, and is set amid the rolling hills and classic landscapes of Emilia-Romagna. Having previously hosted Alps Tour events, Ladies European Tour competitions, and Qualifying Schools, Golf Club Le Fonti presents players with a challenging layout highlighted by multiple water hazards and strategic shot-making opportunities.

Conero Golf Club was established in 1992 within Conero Park in the municipality of Sirolo, stretching 5,868 meters with a par of 71 across nearly seventy hectares. The layout is surrounded by gorse, arbutus, oak, tamarisk, and cherry trees, offering a variety of natural landscapes. The front nine features a lake that influences play on multiple holes, providing strategic challenges for golfers. In contrast, the back nine offers a different experience, highlighted by picturesque vistas of the surrounding countryside.

Golf Il Cerreto di Miglianico (formerly known as Miglianico Golf & CC), located in the heart of Abruzzo, was inaugurated in 1990 and stretches 6,120 meters with a par of 72. Set within gently rolling terrain, the course is framed by olive groves, cypress trees, and panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Golfers will encounter a mix of strategic challenges, including water hazards and undulating greens, which demand precision and creativity.

Alps Tour Qualifying School for the 2026 Season – Entries are now open

For the sixth consecutive year, the 2025 Alps Tour Qualifying School for the 2026 season will be held in November in Italy, reflecting the continued hospitality and support of all participating venues.

The Alps Tour Qualifying School is open to male professional golfers, and male amateur golfers with a max handicap of 0,0 under the Handicapping Scheme adopted by the recognized authority controlling golf in the country they elect to enter. A valid handicap certificate must accompany all applications.

The tournament determining participants’ playing status for the Tour in the 2026 season will be held in Two Stages:

The First Qualifying Stage, which will take place over 36 holes on 3 different golf courses, is scheduled for November 5^th and 6^th at the following venues:

Golf Club Le Fonti, 35 km from Bologna airport
Conero Golf Club, 30 km from Ancona airport and 320 km from Rome airport
Golf il Cerreto di Miglianico, 20km from Pescara airport and 246km from Rome airport

When applying for the tournament, any non-exempt player must choose the venue (Golf Club Le Fonti, Conero Golf Club, and Golf il Cerreto di Miglianico) where he would like to play.

Field sizes for Stage 1 will be approximately 72 players at each venue. Once a venue has reached capacity, subsequent applicants will be required to select an alternative venue.

The number of players advancing from each First Stage tournament will be on a pro rata basis (i.e., approximately the same percentage from each tournament will advance). The number of players who are able to qualify for the Final Stage will be announced as soon as possible once all participants have teed o? in the first round of each First Stage tournament.

The Final Stage will take place from November 12^thuntil November 14^thover 54 holes at two venues North of Rome.

The Final Stage is open to the players who qualified after the First Stage and to the exempt players – as the Alps Tourmembers ranked in the 2025 Order of Merit but not admitted to the Grand Final, or players who took part in the 2025 European Boys/Men Team Championships – for the full list of exemptions, please read the tournament info.

Players who paid their 2025 Alps Tour Membership and made at least one cut during the season are exempt from First Stage: they can enter the Final Stage by choosing the Exemption A.

A field of 156 players will play two rounds alternating 18 holes at Golf Nazionale and 18 holes at Terre dei Consoli Golf Club. The two clubhouses are 5kms apart.

The top 65 players and ties, who will make the cut after 36 holes, will dispute the final round of Final Stage at Golf Nazionale.

At the conclusion of the 54 holes at the Final Stage of Qualifying School, the Top 35 ranked players and ties will obtain a full playing category (category 6) to play in the 2026 Alps Tour tournaments.

The entry fee is € 750, and it covers entry to both the First and Final Stages as well as yardage books for all courses.

The entry deadline for both stages (First and Final) is October 20^th(except for players admitted to DPW Tour Qualifying School-Second Stage 2025-exemption Category-G: entries will close on November 4^th at 18:00 CET)

G.C. Le Fonti and Conero Golf Club promote the top 55 players into the 2024 Q-School Finals.

Italy, November 8^th, 2024– The players competing at Golf Club Le Fonti and Conero Golf Club concluded their Stage 1 Qualifier today, where the top 28 players from G.C. Le Fonti and the top 27 players from Conero Golf Club were promoted into the 2024 Q-School Finals.

Due to fog, the Stage 1 Qualifier held at Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca was suspended at 1:49 p.m. local time. It was resumed at 3:05 p.m. local time; however, at 5:00 p.m. play had to be suspended again due to darkness. It will resume tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m., where the final spots will be given out. The top 26 players will qualify for next week’s Q-School Finals.

The players who qualified from the Stage 1 events held at Golf Club Le Fonti and Conero Golf Club gained access to the Final Stage of Alps Tour Q-School, which will take place at Golf Nazionale and Terre dei Consoli Golf Club in Northern Rome from November 13^th-15^th. After next week’s event, the best-ranked players can earn playing status for the 2025 season.

Stage 1 Qualifier at Golf Club Le FontiItaly’s Alessandro Nodari, who already was in the lead after yesterday’s first round, concludes the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 Qualifier held at Golf Club Le Fonti in 1^st place with a two-day score of 6 under-par (136). Adrian Soriano from the United States of America and Italian amateur Pietro Gavazzi conclude the tournament in a 2-way tie for 2^nd place with a total score of 5 under-par (137). David Nagiev and Malte Von Blankenfeld from Germany conclude the qualifier in a 2-way tie for 4^th place with a two-day score of 4 under-par (138).

After today’s round, the top 28 players in the final leaderboard earned their spot in the field of next week’s 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage. France’s Gautier Brisout de Barneville will be the 2nd alternate, Italian amateur Riccardo Cavina will be the 5th alternate, and Italian amateur Niccolo Bertuletti will be the 8th alternate at next week’s Alps Tour Q-School Finals.

Stage 1 Qualifier at Conero Golf Club

France’s Victor Veyret shot one of the lowest scores of the day at the Stage 1 Qualifier held at Conero Golf Club to conclude his qualifier in 1^st place with a two-day score of 7 under-par (135). In 2^nd place, with a two-day total of 5 under-par (137), another fellow French player, Mathieu Francois-Mir who was tied for the lead after yesterday’s first round. In an 8-way tie for 3^rd place with a total score of 1 under-par (141), Italy’s Jacopo Albertoni and amateur Giovanni Pittarello and Lorenzo Bruzzone (am), Argentina’s Grego Ferrandez, Ireland’s Brandon St John, England’s Luca Houlgate and French amateur Thibault Frestel and Dorian Fournier (am).

At the end of today’s round, the top 27 players in the final in the final scoreboard earned a spot into next week’s 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, where they will try and earn their playing status for the 2025 season. French amateur Jean Chevalier will be the 3rd alternate, England’s Joe Ellis will be the 6th alternate, and James Sharp from England will be the 9th alternate at next week’s Alps Tour Q-School Finals.

The Quest for a 2025 Alps Tour playing category is underway.

Italy, November 7^th, 2024– A total of 200 players are competing on three distinct golf courses throughout Italy for 81 spots that will earn them access to next week’s 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Finals.

During next week’s event, players can capture a playing status on the Alps Tour for the 2025 season. The Final Stage of the 2024 Qualifying School will occur at Golf Nazionale and Terre dei Consolia Golf Club in Northern Rome from November 13^th-15^th, 2024.

The Alps Tour would like to thank Golf Club Le Fonti, Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca, and Conero Golf Club for allowing us to host our events at their venue and for the magnificent preparation they did to their course ahead of this week’s tournaments.

Players compete at Golf Club Le Fonti, Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca, and Conero Golf Club this week. At the first venue, Golf Club Le Fonti, there are 69 players in the field and 28 spots available, at Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca, there are 65 players in the field and 26 spots available to qualify, and at Conero Golf Club 66 players are competing with 27 spots to be promoted into the Qualifying School Finals.

Stage 1 Qualifier at Golf Club Le FontiAfter the 1^st round of the 2024 Stage 1 Qualifier currently held at Golf Club Le Fonti, Italy’s Alessandro Nodari is in the lead with a 5 under.par, 65. In 2^nd place, only 1 stroke back at 4 under-par, his fellow countryman Alessio Battista(am). There is a 6-way tie for 3^rd place at 2 under-par with, Italian amateurs: Francesco Tinelli, Riccardo Cavina and Lorenzo Casartelli, French amateur Martin Engel, Elisey Antropenko and Adrian Soriano from the United States of America.

Round 1 had to be suspended at 8:47 a.m. local time due to fog. Play was resumed at 10:00 a.m. after 1 hour and 16 minutes delay. At the end of tomorrow’s round, which will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time, the top 28 players will earn their spot in next week’s Alps Tour Q-School Final Stage field.

Stage 1 Qualifier at Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca

Spain’s Ignacio Mateo leads with a 5 under-par, 67 after the first round of the Stage 1 Qualifier being held at Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca. France’s Tom Colombel, Spanish amateur Esteban Vazquez Martin, and Gregori Baumann from Switzerland are in a 3-way tie for 2^nd place with a score of 4 under-par, 68. In 5^th place at 3 under-par, Italian amateur Tommaso Ajolfi.

At the end of tomorrow’s round, the top 26 players will earn a spot in next week’s event. The final round will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time.

Stage 1 Qualifier at Conero Golf Club

After the opening round of the 2024 Alps Tour Stage 1 Qualifier played at Conero Golf Club, France’s Mathieu Francois-Mir and Italy’s Jacopo Albertoni share the lead with a. 3 under-par, 68. In a 2-way tie for 3^rd place at 2 under-par: France’s Ugo Ottogalli and Italian amateur Carlo Maria Asti. A 5-way tie for 5th place at 1 under-par includes: England’s Luca Houlgate, Ireland’s Brandon St John, France’s Dorian Fournier (am), and Victor Veyret and Spain’s Thomas Artigas.

Once tomorrow’s final round is concluded, the top 27 players will earn a spot in the field of next week’s 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, where they will try and earn their playing status for the 2025 season.

Thursday marks the beginning of the 2024 Qualifying School Stage 1 tournaments.

November 5^th 2024- The 20^th edition of the Alps Tour Qualifying School will take place in Italy, just like the past four seasons. The 1^st Stage events will be played on November 7^th and 8^th at three distinct golf clubs: Golf Club Le Fonti, Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca, and Conero Golf Club. The Final Stage of the 2024 Qualifying School will take place at Golf Nazionale and Terre dei Consoli Golf Club in Northern Rome from November 13^th – 15^th.

In the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School fields, there are 138 amateur players and 37 players under 20 years old. A total of 35 different nations, including: Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Lithuania, Lebanon, New Zealand, Poland, and the United States of America, will be represented throughout the 2024 Qualifying School.

For the second year in a row, we received nearly 300 applications from players who wanted to participate in the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School. Applications were open to any male professional golfer who belongs to a recognized PGA or Golf Federation, as well as male amateur players with a handicap of 2.0 or better.

In the three 1^st Stage events, there will be 203 players competing over the three different venues. The tournaments will be played over 36 holes with no cut, and the top-ranked players will gain access to the Final Stage event, where the top-ranked players will earn a full Alps Tour card for the 2025 season.

There will be 156 players in the field at the Final Stage of the 2024 Alps Tour Qualifying School, where 75 players have already been exempt.

The exempt players from the 1^st stage and automatically eligible to participate in the Final Stage are: all players ranked in the 2024 Alps Tour Order of Merit after the 2024 Croara Alps Open who weren’t in the field at the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT – The Male Tools & Co., all of the past winners of the Alps Tour Order of Meritfrom 2012 to 2021, the winners of the Alps Tour Qualifying School in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the leading 10 European Amateur Players in the World Amateur Golf Rankings as of October 14^th 2024, players who competed at the 2023 World Amateur Team Championship and/or the 2024 European Boys/Men Team Championships and/or the 2023 Walker Cup and players being members of the European Tour for the 2024 season until category 20 and members of the Challenge Tour for the 2024 season until category 16.

The Golf Courses

The three First Stages of this year’s Qualifying School will be disputed over three golf courses throughout Italy: Golf Club Le Fonti, Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca, and Conero Golf Club.

The first venue that has been constant on our schedule as a host for the Stage 1 Qualifying School event is in Northern Italy, approximately 30km southeast of Bologna. The tournament will unfold at Golf Club Le Fonti in Castel San Pietro Terme. The course is home to 18 holes of golf and will be set as a par 71, 6411 meters. Rolling hills and a typical Emilia-Romagna landscape surround Golf Club Le Fonti. It has previously hosted Alps Tour events, Ladies European Tour events, and Qualifying Schools. The players will face multiple water hazards, making it a tough challenge.

Golf del Ducato Parma – La Rocca is the second course hosting Stage 1 events this year. It is a 6078-meter par 72 course in the Province of Parma, about 100km from Bologna and just 10 minutes from Parma in the Emilia-Romagna Region. It was founded in 1985 on the edge of the Boschi di Carrega nature park. The parkland golf course unfolds amongst oak and acacia forests, beautiful ponds, and slightly hilly terrain with unforgettable views.

This year, Conero Golf Club is the third golf course hosting Stage 1 Qualifying School. It opened in 1992 and was developed within Conero Park. It is a 5868-meter par 71 course set in almost seventy hectares, with gorse, arbutus, oak, tamarisk, and cherry trees envelop the golf course. The terrain is slightly soft and offers a wide variety of situations and landscapes: on the first nine holes, play will be influenced by the presence of a lake, which comes into play. On the back nine, the terrain changes its characteristics, and beautiful views of the rural surrounding landscapes will be the backdrop of the course. Conero Golf Club is also home to an executive 5 holes course in the middle of the complex.
