Gianmaria Rean Trinchero wins his 2nd Alps Tour title at the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open!

Tabarka, April 27th, 2024—Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero wins the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open with a total score of 10 under par. Ireland’s Alex Maguire finishes in second place, only 1 stroke back. In third place is France’s Benjamin Kedochim, with a three-day score of 8 under par. An Alps Tour winner during the 2022 season, England’s Ben Schmidtfinishes the tournament with a total score of 7 under par.

The final round of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open, played at the breathtaking La Cigale Tabarka Golf in Tabarka began this morning from the 1st hole at 7:50 am local time and the leaders teed off at 11:00 am local time. The final day was disputed under sunny skies, a warm temperature, and windy conditions.

The 2024 Tunisian Golf Open marked the first time that La Cigale Tabarka Golf hosted an Alps Tour event, and it was also the first time since 2016, that the Tunisian Golf Open was disputed.
The Tunisian Golf Open will be played for the next 2 years as our Chief Executive & Operations Director, Ms. Estelle Richard, signed a partnership agreement with Mr. Hassine Helmi, General Director of the Tunisian National Tourism Office (ONTT). 
Final Round Player Quotes Italy’s Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, 28, wins his second Alps Tour title at the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open. He was tied for 5th place after yesterday’s round 2, and today, he shot a 3 under-par 69 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 10 under-par. During yesterday’s round 2, Rean Trinchero shot a 9 under-par, 63 and now holds the new course record of La Cigale Tabarka Golf which was previously held by Jon Robson during the 1995 Challenge Tour event with a score of 7 under-par. In today’s final round, he made 2 birdies on the opening front nine holes and then 2 more birdies on the back nine before ending his round with a bogey on the 18th hole. He has been playing professional golf since 2020 and earned his 1st Alps Tour title at the 2023 Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera. After his win, Rean Trinchero’s first reaction were, “I’m very happy about this victory. Today was tough out there, the wind was blowing strong from the 1st hole, the conditions were way tougher than yesterday which I played in the morning with no wind. I’m very happy about the entire week, my game was in great conditions. I hit my shots all very well, I found the fairways, found the greens, and hit my putts super well. I want to thank the Alps Tour, the hotel La Cigale, and especially my team and sponsors. I want to thank Camilla, my fiancée and putting coach. Giovanni and Leonardo who are also part of my team and Silvia, my main sponsor, without you this would be impossible so thank you very much. Ireland’s Alex Maguire, 23, who is competing in his 1st season as a professional player as he turned pro at the beginning of 2024, shot a final round of 4 under-par, 68 to conclude the tournament in 2nd place at 9 under-par. He made 3 birdies on his opening front nine and then a bogey on the 10th and 11th hole before making 4 birdies in a row from hole 12 to hole 15 and closing his round with a bogey on the par 3, 17th hole.

Benjamin Kedochim, 29, from France, concluded the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open in 3rd place with a total score of 8 under-par.  He made 4 birdies and 1 bogey for a 3 under-par, 69 in his final round. Kedochim has earned several top 5 finishes in his career but is looking to capture his 1st title on the Alps Tour. He has been playing well since the beginning of the 2024 season and wants to continue to work hard to hopefully earn a trophy in the upcoming events.

After the first four events of the season, the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has Edoardo R Lipparelli in the lead with 13,005 points. Aymeric Laussot in 2nd place with 11,441.25 points and Gianmaria Rean Trinchero and Jose Antonio Sintes Navarro (am) tied for 3rd place with 6,912 points.

Final Round

Gianmaria Rean Trinchero winner of the 2024 Tunisian Golf Open, earned the winner’s check of €6,525.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

The next event on the schedule is set for May 8th-10th in Italy. Players will compete for the 2024 Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by AON title at Golf Club La Pinetina near Como.
