Alps Tour breaks new ground at The Allegria Golf Club
Egypt, April 23rd, 2026 – The Alps Tour continues its Egyptian swing with the Allegria Open, marking the first visit in the Tour’s 25-year history to The Allegria Golf Club, located northwest of the Pyramids of Giza.
This sixth event of the season will also be the final tournament played outside Europe in 2026.
The tournament offers a prize fund of €42,500 and 45,000 Order of Merit points, with €6,200 and 6,525 points awarded to the winner. The competition will be played over 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut after 36 holes to the top 40 professional players and ties, including all amateurs within the cut. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death playoff will determine the winner.
The Field
Fresh from his victory at the Dreamland Open, France’s Maxime Legros, now fifth in the Order of Merit, will look to carry his momentum into the week. He will be joined by runner-up Pablo Alperi, who has emerged as one of the form players on the Tour with three consecutive top-5 finishes, including two runner-up results.
The entire top 10 in the Order of Merit is present this week, with players facing a new layout that could level the playing field. Weather conditions may also play a role, with calm and sunny conditions expected for the first two rounds, while stronger winds could impact Sunday’s final round.
The field is composed of 94 players, including six Egyptian amateurs all looking to make their mark on home soil.
The Course
The Allegria Golf Club, located in Sheikh Zayed City west of Cairo, is one of Egypt’s most iconic courses. Designed by Greg Norman, it reflects a contemporary approach where landscape and playability are closely intertwined.
The 18-hole, par-72 parkland-style course stretching 7,217 yards is the centerpiece of the venue. Unlike many desert layouts in the region, it features lush fairways, sculpted bunkers, water hazards, and carefully shaped greens that emphasize strategy as much as shot-making, making it both challenging and accessible.
Tournament Sponsors
The 2026 Allegria Open is part of the Egypt Golf Series 2026 and is proudly supported by the Egyptian Golf Federation and The Allegria as title sponsor. Additional support is provided by TPC – Touristic Promotion Company.
