Alexandre Vandermoten completes the double at the Hulencourt Alps Tour Grand Final

Genappe, Belgium, October 17th, 2026 – Alexandre Vandermoten capped off an outstanding rookie season by winning the Hulencourt Alps Tour Grand Final and securing the 2026 Order of Merit title. Playing in windy conditions, the Frenchman delivered a solid final round of 69 (-3), with four birdies and just one bogey on the 12th. The 26-year-old secured his fifth victory of the season to finish top of the Order of Merit.

Vandermoten finished two shots ahead of Italy’s Alessandro Nodari, who carded the round of the day with an excellent 66 (-6). His runner-up finish proved crucial, lifting him into fifth place in the final Order of Merit and securing promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour for the 2027 season.

England’s Archie Smith, who led after 36 holes, signed for a 74 (+2) to finish tied for third alongside Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar. The result confirmed Galiano Aguilar’s place in the Top 5 of the Order of Merit, earning him a HotelPlanner Tour card for next season.

With his fifth victory of the 2026 season, Vandermoten earns €10,000 and 9,500 Order of Merit points, finishing top of the standings ahead of Italy’s Andrea Romano and France’s Maxime Legros. Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar takes fourth place, while Italy’s Alessandro Nodari completes the Top 5. All five players secure Category 12 status for the 2027 HotelPlanner Tour season.

Round 3 Player Quotes

Alexandre Vandermoten: “It was a big help having Gordon Fochtner on the bag. We stayed focused together, and I managed to stay in my own bubble throughout the round. After making a bogey, I nearly made an eagle on the next hole, which helped me reset. My putting has been exceptional all week. There was some pressure on the 17th and 18th, especially when I realised I had a two-shot lead, but it was the good kind of pressure.

“Winning the Order of Merit was my goal when I arrived at La Pinetina and then came here for the Grand Final, so achieving it is huge. I’m delighted to have finished ahead of Andrea Romano. He had beaten me twice before, so now it’s 2–1 to him, but we’ll see what happens on the HotelPlanner Tour.”

Alessandro Nodari: “I played a very good round. I was quite relaxed at the start because I wasn’t really thinking about the possibility of finishing in the Top 5. I just wanted to enjoy the day with Ermes. Around the 10th, I realised that a few birdies could put me in a much stronger position, so I focused a little more and managed to finish second. It’s a great satisfaction and gives me a lot of confidence in my game and my abilities.”

Mario Galiano Aguilar: “I was a little nervous over the first two holes, but then I settled down and started playing better. Around the middle of the round, things were looking good, but I missed a birdie and made a bogey on the 11th. I checked the leaderboard and saw that Nodari was playing very well, so I knew I had to play the final holes well and finish no worse than fourth. Those were probably the seven most nerve-racking holes I’ve ever played.

“Finishing in the Top 5 has been a goal all season. It’s very tough because the level gets better every year. I think I finished in the Top 5 about seven times this season, yet I still had to fight until the very last putt. I’m really happy, and now it’s time to celebrate.”
