Final Round Player Quotes
Alexandre Vandermoten, 25, of France, a two-time winner this season, remained composed under pressure in the final round to seal the win.
“Today was a long day, but I felt I was in a good routine and really stuck to my plan to stay in my own head and be mentally strong. My putting was really solid all week from inside six feet, I’m really proud of that. My biggest goal was to stay in my own head, and I did that, so I’m proud of it.
“I’m taking it one step at a time, obviously 2 wins is a great achievement and a third would be even better but right now, one step at a time. My goal is to keep working on my mental game to stay even more present and stick to my routine even more. I want to better understand pressure and learn to play with it. I knew where I stood on the 18th tee needing a birdie. I was feeling good, but I felt the pressure over the last few holes and made a couple of mistakes because I didn’t stay present. That’s exactly what I want to improve. Continuing my mental work will help me get there.
I’ll go into each tournament with the mindset of staying in my own head, having a good week, enjoying it, and having fun with friends.”
