Spain’s Pablo Alperi and Argentina’s Gregorio Ferrandez lead the way before final round in Lacanau

France, May 22nd, 2026 – A thrilling final round awaits at UGOLF Lacanau, with around a dozen players separated by just four shots heading into Saturday at the Lacanau Alps Open.

At the top of the leaderboard sit Spain’s Pablo Alperi and Argentina’s Gregorio Ferrandez, after rounds of 68 (-4) and 66 (-6) respectively during the second round.

The leading duo holds only a one-shot advantage over a group of five players featuring Spain’s Jorge Maicas and Victor Garcia Broto, France’s Louis Bonté and Nathan Legendre, and Italy’s Luca Cavalli.

Just two shots back, Italy’s Pietro Boeris and Switzerland’s Maximilien Sturdza remain firmly in contention heading into the final day.

For tomorrow’s final round, play will begin at 10:40 a.m. from both the 1st and 10th tees. At the conclusion of the third round, the winner will receive €7,920 and 6,525 Order of Merit points. In the event of a tie, a playoff will determine the champion.

Jorge Maicas: “I played very well today, especially with my iron shots and on the greens. I also had a good day off the tee apart from a couple of holes. Tomorrow, the plan is to stay patient, stick to my strategy, and avoid thinking about the leaderboard. That will be my mindset for the final round.”
