Alps Tour heads back to Italy for the Miglianico Alps Open
Italy, April 29th, 2026 – A few weeks after the Villa Paradiso Alps Open and following two events in Egypt, the Alps Tour returns to Italy for the Miglianico Alps Open, taking place from April 30th to May 2nd at Il Cerreto di Miglianico Golf, on the east coast of the country.
From this point on, the Tour will remain in Europe for the final fourteen events of the season. Formerly known as the Abruzzo Open from 2014 to 2023, the tournament makes its return to the schedule after a two-year absence.
A minimum prize fund of €48,000 will be on offer, along with 45,000 Order of Merit points, including €6,900 and 6,525 points awarded to the winner. The event will be played over 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut after 36 holes to the top 40 professionals and ties, including all amateurs within the cut. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death playoff will determine the champion.
The Field
Will the run of French victories continue this week in Miglianico? After wins by Alexandre Vandermoten, Maxime Legros and Paul Franquet, all three will be aiming for a second title this season.
Italy’s Andrea Romano, already a two-time winner earlier this year, has the opportunity to secure immediate promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour with a third victory on home soil.
Benjamin Kedochim is the only absent among the top 20 in the Order of Merit is present in Italy this week. The field is composed of 144 players, including 50 players from the national field and invitations from the Italian Golf Federation. A total of 24 amateurs are also competing.
The Course
Il Cerreto di Miglianico Golf is an 18-hole, par-72 course measuring 5,875 metres, designed by renowned American architect Ronald Kirby. Located in the province of Chieti, in the Abruzzo region, the course winds through vineyards, olive groves and small lakes, offering scenic views just a few kilometres from the Adriatic coast.
Technically engaging, the layout features narrow fairways, subtle slopes, and strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that reward accuracy and smart course management. Open year-round and easily accessible, it has hosted numerous events and offers a distinctive and rewarding challenge for players of all levels.
