Round 1 is suspended for the day at the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT – The Male Tools & Co.
Cassina Rizzardi, October 16th 2024 – The players competing at the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT – The Male Tools & Co. faced complicated weather conditions today with constant heavy rainfall and chilly temperatures. The tournament is held at Golf Club Monticello in Cassina Rizzardi, Italy. This is the 1st time that Golf Club Monticello is hosting the Alps Tour Grand Final. First-round play began at 8:30 a.m. local time from the 1st and 10th hole.
At 1:28 p.m. local time, the Tournament Director, Mr. Alessandro Pia, suspended play due to unplayable course conditions and flooded fairways. After various attempts, at 4:15 p.m., the Tournament Director decided to keep play suspended for the rest of the day as the course remained unplayable.
When he first suspended play, 15.5 mm of rain had fallen over Golf Club Monticello. However, when Mr. Alessandro Pia called play for the day, a total of 38 mm of rain had fallen, and the rain kept falling.
The 1st round of the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT – The Male Tools & Co. will resume tomorrow, October 17th, at 8:30 a.m. local time.
This is the 2024 season-ending tournament where the top 5 players in the Order of Merit rank at the end of this week’s tournament will earn a Challenge Tour, category 12b card for the 2025 season. The 47 players in the field this are competing for a prize fund of €50,000 and 60,000 points. The winner of the 2024 Alps Tour Grand Final Presented by DEPOT- The Male Tools & Co. will earn a check of €10,000 and 9,500 Order of Merit points.
For this tournament, DEPOT – The Male tools & Co. will be the event’s title sponsor.
